This Jodhpur must not be in Rajasthan right ? Rajasthan has a woman Chief Minister. Still a literate man finds nothing so khas about the Rajasthan state university topper? Its not manly Brigadier. Its just plain stupidity.😆

What makes you believe a state topper has nothing khas in her ? Had all the qualified joined the army or thought of conquering the Everest for it is the only thing to prove their worth we all would have died of starvation by now.Thankfully sanity is still in vogue. Things in India has changed a lot though I have no idea how things look from the Everest or any other mountain top. How about looking things at closer level now?

Every person has a talent Brigadier. You din't find one and that is your fault. In Ralph Waldo Emerson's words . Talent's differ; All is well and wisely put. Why don't you take some time to read the poem Brigadier ? After all your daughter is a graduate in literature .

Why manly things are so pre- decided in our country ? As if we are playing some video game and the player already knows where to look for the treasure. Belittling anyone defines masculinity ? Since when ?

basically he has been unhappy man, because he dint get what he want in life..he couldn't get son because of his wife's medical problem..( no guarantee if she was fine he would have got ) and he was a good mountaineer and because of his injury he could't continue that ..so that annoy made him dry .. and that dryness killed his ability to watching positivity in life.. thus for him every thing is dark that 's why he is not recognise that he is very lucky man, his wife & daughter r very kind to words him ..despite of his harsh behavior they love him..and respect him..
i really wonder how her mom been living with him for so long ..and anjali is too very nice otherwise other girl could have ignore this kind of father and do what she want..

Brigadier Sir is unhapy because he never wanted a 'child' in the first place.
People who want children realise that they are separate human beings with their own desires, wishes and aspirations.

What he basically wanted was an instrument to fulfil his own desires. He wanted a tool through which he could vicariously live and not a 'child'.🤢

Although I don't respect his craze for a male child but I still understand him. Every man wants his legacy to be taken forward.

A doctor would want another doctor in hte family, a lawyer will ask for another lawyer and so on. This is basic human psychology. I understand he wanted to have a son who would join the Indian army like he did. I understand he is upset because women don't do field job in the Indian Army. So another hero from the army is not expected in his house . But here the man simply crosses all limits of sanity. Let Anjali not make the Everest or join the army but there are ample of things she can do after her graduation. He simply didn't bother to encourage her but all set to discourage her every way possible. Why didn't a man with such brilliant caliber ask his daughter if she wants to opt for higher studies or job before jumping in to settle a marriage alliance for her ? Every normal student of today's time opt for PG. He instead is happy that her would be groom has a progressive mindset and will of course allow her to work after marriage. Is he himself a progressive man to expect anything similar from another man ?

I have high regard for our soldiers. They risk their lives and sometimes work under inhospitable conditions protecting us and our country. Here the Brigadier is confused about his job. Yes, he is a brave man and a hero too but what is he protecting ? The country ? What is a nation without its natives ? He simply refuses to acknowledge any other profession. He needs to learn that government that decides the fate of the army or institutions like NIM is itself an inter- connected machinery.Every one is important here and you simply cannot rule out any other profession.

He doesn't read newspaper either because quite recently two sisters did conquer the Everest.

I want his daughter to climb the highest peak in the world and let her father know she can do anything she want. Whether he knows about it or not is his problem and not hers.

He is like a horse with tunnel vision. He refuses to see, hear or understand anything beyond his zone.

So in his limited understanding and perception of the world the profession he chose is the only mardangi wala profession rest all is bakwaas.

In fact Anjali should be thankful that she was born a female. Imagine her plight if she had been born a man and then not interested in joining Army due to XYZ reasons. Brigadier would have gone bonkers, insulted his son, humiliated him at every step, threatened him and would have even tried to declare him "not a man".
