Why did he break the rule ?

I failed to get the thing.

The staff told he was a strict man yet he forgot that the girl has trespassed into his office. He said rules here are not to be broken.

Then he also refused Mr. Businessman and his idea, but did recall Anjali's words about her identity, then he look out through his window and bingo she was in.

I thought he will notice something extraordinary in her. May be she end up doing something larger than life which the Colonel will secretly admire before admitting her to NIM or may be he gets to know how well qualified Anjali is. Well, nothing of that sort did happen.

Was that scene convincing to everyone here or may be I missed something ? I was waiting for that scene ever since the promo was out.

I might be wrong but i guess when Arjun was taunting him about his identity,Like no one will remember you after they reach the Peak of Mountains and after being famous,He remembered Anjali cause she said she wanted to make her identity and that was her only chance.
Maybe he said yes because "Identity" is something he wanted too 😳

So, he thought Anjali is the student who will remember him all her life. 🤔

It was the way they approached colonel and what they wanted to achieve. She bravely broke into his office just to get the admission while Gupta and Arjuns focus was on money thinking money will talk for them.

She wanted to find her own identity and thats her main goal while Arjun is doing it for the sake of publicity, fame and money. And it was Arjuns words about how who will remember him after the training which pulled in the final cords. Someone who want to find their identity will remember the training and the people who made it possible forever but someone who just want media coverage and publicity will forget it once the mission is over.

I loved Anjali's dialogue on identity...it was convincing enough talk, I think...

I guess it was the question who will remember you if you don't market yourself that made him change the rule.

I would have never questioned his judgement if it was a soap serial. 😆 THe question was why should one institution break rule to fit a student ?
