Contrary to what few people are saying on this forum, I think the CVs have done a wonderful job balancing the characters and couples in the show. There has been no bias towards RanJan and VeeBa already have made so much development in their relationship. We have seen their fights consistently throughout the show. We have seen Baldev's possessiveness when he fights for her. We have seen Veera's care and attempt to reform Baldev when she stops him from serving alcohol. We have seen Baldev hesitant to accept that Veera leaving will affect him when he denies it to Gunjan, we have seen Veera crave for Baldev's attention when she spills the ink on him, we have seen Veera notice Baldev's good looks when she compliments him, we have seen Baldev getting lost in Veera's beauty when she dresses up, we have seen Baldev's trust in Veera when he doesn't for a second doubt that she's telling the truth about Jagjit when he goes to confront SS, we have seen Veera's trust in Baldev when she admits that Baldev might not outwardly follow the right path, but he is a good person at heart.
If the writers have given us all of this, then they clearly are not favoring RanJan over VeeBa. They are simply handling the RanJan story differently. RanJan is displaying a more muted love. There are a lot of things that are implied in the RanJan story than what is shown because of the 15 year leap. RanJan started out with a sweet friendship in childhood. That friendship must have grown to deeper care throughout the last 15 years. We see all the characters claiming that they are the best of friends. Once Veera left for her studies, Ranvi must have found solace in Gunjan. Gunjan tells Ranvi that she's seen him struggling to live these last 15 years without Veera. Ranvi tells Gunjan that he knows the real Gunjan is hiding underneath the facade that she puts up. They confided their sorrows in each other for the past 15 years. We as viewers didn't see it, but it doesn't have to be seen or said, it's reflected in their eyes. It is not one sided love either. The love which exists in their hearts has not been expressed to each other verbally from either side yet.
Both the couples have a unique charm to them. There is no point in comparing them to one another because they are not meant to be similar.
Veera, the show itself, has never been about a love story. It is a family drama that showcases the different angles, dimensions, depths of relationships. It explores the relationships between friends, enemies, wives and husbands, mothers and sons, mothers and daughters, fathers and daughters, fathers and sons, and of course between brothers and sisters. If there is anything lacking in the show right now, it is the essence of Ranveera, mostly from Veera's side. But I believe the writers have something grand in store for Ranveera as this is the USP of the show. There is so much that is yet to be explored in this show from Ranvi's career, Veera's dream, Karan, the agricultural school, Gunjan's studies, Baldev's reform, Veera-Ratan revelation, etc. If you are going to be hung up on one track or couple...you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Well that was my two cents. I'm not even going to add the no offence line because I don't think I said anything that'll hurt anyone. Let's just try to keep some patience and enjoy the flow.
