The pictures do tell something is fishy and even the scene where he tells Gateryie to come and she leaves he stand behind watches her. Also when he was punishing himself he saw that he was trying to kill Gaetryie and he also angrily banged the cupboard which Rageshwarie did not ask him to so i feel The ubtan fell and it did not affect him as much so Ranaji is in his senses and trying to know the truth and i am sure he will save Gayterie tomorrow.
