ZEE TV fails yet again.
I'm so incredibly disappointed in this show. When it started I had very high expectations - I felt the show would be a nice period show that shows the struggle of a financially dire kingdom and the struggle monarchy has at the hands of British rule and the impending partition and independent india.
At the beginning all the characters were well etched - Rajmata was a classy, aristrocrat, erudite and shrewd. She wasn't evil but she did know how to play politics to fulfill her agenda.
Ranaji - every bit royal, suave, debonaire with a melancholy air about him that was very intriguing. He was characterized as a man with a very tender, emotional sensitive side that he had to hide behind a very tough exterior - very regal and dutiful, yet just and sharp - as a king should be,
Gayatri - a woman of extraordinary courage and intellect - well beyond her years or heritage - a dreamer but will an exquisite sense of justice - a good match for the hardened Ranaji.
I don't understand what the show is trying to prove - the story has clearly gone for a toss, I'm tired of Ranaji getting suckered into getting married against his will every time - Gayatri walking around wiht that "i'm about to burst into tears any moment" face and her over the top "mahangiri" - why would you not punish BRM?? Why would u believe her again after ALL her past transgressions and conspiracies?!!
Kunwar chacha and his hackeyed schemes, all the violence against Swarnalekha - why was her and Gayatri's friendship/sisterhood not developed further?!! Shouldn't they be each other's pillars of strength?!! Why hasn't swarna confided in gayatri about the kidnapping and locking her up etc?????????!!
Zee needs to end this show or turn the story around fast.
