I don't watch shows for actors...I don't even watch films for stars...!
I have been very disappointed by two shows in recent times...one was Tere Shehar Mein...it started off so well...and then just like that, it self destructed..The other is ETR2...I was really impressed by the first few epis...and then hardly fifty epis down the line, they decided to implode too...!ETR2 was never a typical TRP show...it should have either been planned as a finite show...or they should have given the show more time to grow...rather than push the TRP panic button so soon..!They have other TRP earning shows..they should have treated ETR2 as a special show that would redefine quality entertainment on desitv. The present set of writers are only going to pull the show down even further!I am very surprised that the channel/ PH have not stepped in and effected some radical changes..!Why are Nilanjana and Sauwabh Tiwari being given free rein to destroy this show?
Berts 🤗 Thank you for venting on behalf of most of the fans of ETR.
I stopped watching a while ago but did keep track of the story off and on. I have stopped that too now!!
I am not disappointed. I am furious with the way the show has turned out. Zee cheated us, again, by promising one thing and showing us something else!!
@ bold - oh but the channel did step in. They pressured the CVs to add drama to grab eyeballs in a hurry. Possible reason why RNJ falling in love with RGD was rushed and Sulu was brought in and all the negativity and crap followed. Since the investment was higher with ETR, the panic and pressuring to add drama started earlier.
As far as I know, the CVs do not have free rein after a certain point. This show has been ruined with blessings from Zee!! I would hold them more responsible for the current state of ETR. Not to take away from the 'talent' of Nilo and ST.
There is a team from Zee who works with the PH's CVs on every show. They have their standard tracks that are used in all the shows, the souten track, dumb hero, stereotypical bahu, vamps and villains trying to break up the leads, seduce one of the leads etc. If the TRPs dont pick up after the first few weeks, Zee's 'creative' team steps in with their cliched, regressive tracks and the PH has to oblige if they dont want the show to end soon. Quality does not matter.
Hence the change in the style of story telling and character butchering. Not only the viewers have been cheated of what could have been a fresh, interesting love story, even the actors have been cheated of what they were told their characters and story would be!
And Zee does not care for feedback. Nilo's dear friend Namit, who is programming head of fiction blocked a bunch of us for tagging him when Zee and a PH was ruining another show couple years ago. We were giving feedback because they were showing completely ridiculous, unethical crap, not throwing tantrums because the leads were split up for a beyond silly reason and because the politics offscreen was affecting the onscreen content. We tagged him just so he was aware of what was going on and we were polite BTW. So that is the culture at Zee it appears.
Zee CEO has a show on Sunday evenings here where he advises students how to be professional, innovative, ethical etc, he tweets his gyaan too. It should be mandatory for his employees to watch his show, rather he should be teaching them before he lectures the rest of the world.
But then also what can we expect from a CV who claims the ML is naive and the FL is better than him and still loves him unconditionally? She has been with the show since the beginning!!
And our desi CVs just dont know how to write stories without negativity unfortunately! Do people really enjoy watching so much negativity?
What did they achieve with all these changes and character butchering? TRPs were increasing slowly but steadily with the way the story was told in the beginning.
