Today we all saw how pride played a huge part in the episode.. the pride of being a king and ruler Rana was representing his people and not just himself at the game of dice something I think they showed really well in todays episode. The battle between male ego and a king was visible to me anyway. Even though he is under the influence of an addictive game and alcohol he was still to 'some 'extent thinking straight. I appreciate the fact that he didn't loose total control of himself.

Okay so the other part of it that I think was worth talking about the limits on Gayatri as a Queen they did a really good job of highlighting how restricted Gayatri was through the whole game. Had she just been the wife of the common man she could have probably rubbished the whole thing but as wife to a King there was so much at stake. His ego, his respect and above that gaining his understanding of her trust in him.

Last note for the way they handled the betting to begin with i liked the way Rana was good enough to seek consent from the ladies in his life before making choices.. but then thats to begin with ...after that its a slippery path to tread on.

Getting slightly tired of Ranaji wanting to prove his worth to people who don't really need prove. Not that i dislike it for trying btw.
However there are some underlying stuff which need more attention then that. A certain gut feeling something weird will happen even if he would play fair.

Also Gayatri is no fool right now. Off course she said yes to this game instead of the shooting disaster. Ranaji would start moping if she didn't

Guess its an ego thing after all, and besides.. CV wanted this to happen

Jagruti...I think you should watch a Satyajit Ray film called Jalsaghar...it beautifully illustrates the concept of royal pride...or what we call as noblesse oblige...there are certain unwritten rules that the royalty/nobility operate by...and they cannot break it under any circumstances...being a royal himself, Avdesh knew all about this code...although he was never going to be bound by it, he knew RNJ was too much a royal to have the ability to break it...and so he manipulated him into doing what he did...!
I liked the way the whole thing was scripted though...while RNJ's actions can never be justified, you could understand where he was coming from...

To begin with he had the confidence that nothing would go wrong...and then when it started going horribly wrong, he was left with no choice but to watch it unravel...as a royal, he was bound by a certain code of behavior and behave that way he must...it might seem silly and stupid to an outsider...even to a cad like Avdesh,...but he knew a true blue royal would have no way out..!

RNJ had no choice...he had mistakenly given his word...and eventually he had no choice but to abide by it...first he had to protect the prestige of his treasury, even when he knew it was empty...and then he had to bid with all that he had left...am sincerely glad that he did not lose Amerkot in a drunken haze...the choice had already been taken out of his hands...!

Most importantly, even in a drunken haze, he never forgot certain fundamental principles like respecting women...and not objectifying them...which is exactly what Avdesh was doing...whatever be his intent!

RNJ's mistake was trusting the wrong man and allowing him to a position where he was able to manipulate him...that was his cardinal error...he ended up having to pay a very heavy price for that..a price that his royal status made it obligatory on his part to pay..!

It is not to uphold their way of life but to understand it...!

Yes, G could have reacted so differently if she were the wife of a common man,...

The one area where the husband's ego was definitely pricked was when Avdesh spoke about a man who could not handle his drink not being able to handle his wife...!

I personally liked the way RNJ was projected through the scene...perfectly in keeping with his character...!

Didn't watch the epi. But Bertie's and Jagrutid's analysis gives a feel that the scene is scripted well enough.

I agree completely with your take actually and as some one say Rana is a fool to get himself into this but I don't feel he is, he is playing his part all his actions justify his character in my opinion and so that's why I think I'm enjoying this track that and the acting of course. The fact that Rana has more of a part to play now is a winner for me I dislike dramas where the female lead gets all the focus that's just silly. Thank you for the movie recommendation I'll watch it some time and let you know what I think.

It's certainly worth a watch just for the acting and it was carried out with taste rather then the distaste we associate with that sort of gambling scene.

As for proving worth I like the personal element of him wanting gayatri to believe in his abilities as a King and as a warrior the world doesn't matter but the ones you love their trust certainly does. I think to some extent gayatri needs to let him be his own person without always warning him of this that and the other and that's what she was 'trying' to do yesterday not hurt his ego or damage his image in public a King at the end of the day is a King even for his queen which Rana made clear last week when he said she had no authority to challenge a kings decision.
I think you are right I think even if Avdesh was playing fair something along this line was to happen anyway the game creates an addictive ambience that plays havoc on male ego.

Agree.
Shruthi, I just watched and it's worth it.

loved the way it was scripted. Want to congratulate the CVs and the actors for pulling me in and holding my attention in this sort of an episode.👏

Everyone did well, SK as the gullible King being led to the trap by Chacha & Av & RGD & RM standing by & watching in horror & trying to intervene.

Wish they had included Lakhan too.

Apparently Chacha knew RNJ's buttons and Avdesh attacked his weak points.

Yes...Chacha played a big role...they should use him more...with Lakhan and Laksh and all, why do they need new entries...so much can be done with the ones they have...😡

Agree they have really good actors but you're supposed to have faith in family so it'd be a show that goes round in circles!
