We saw today the first bit of masochism from Indra.
He said if I win this fight (which they are calling war) you will learn to trust me when I make a decision no matter if the enemy is unknown I know my strength with a sword and I cannot lose to that other guy. Its a macho way of guys to say you my wife should learn with this my action that my decisions are always right.
Hate it or not but these type of things that men say to show superiority over a woman's decisions.
You know what is the funniest thing in all this? Rana had never needed to prove himself to earn Gayetri's trust. Only Gayetri had to prove herself over and over and yet he never trusted her without solid proof. So his saying that if he wins this war, Gayetri will trust him, is more like if he wins this war, he will trust himself after majorly duped by a woman for so many years (two, if you count fake Sula).
Secondly his kingdom was run by women from his BRM to Raj Mata while he was busy wallowing in grief. So it's not that technically he doesn't believe in women. I have a feeling that right now, he doesn't believe in himself and wants to show off his capabilities in front of Gayetri. Again, refer to my comment on men and their egos. Character wise he is behaving like a typical man who was betrayed by a women and bested by another women. Add being a King who is responsible for the kingdom in the mix and you have the making of a disaster.
