I completely agree with you.
With that said, I think it's the writer's fault. Drashti essentially does what they ask her to do. She looked royal and elegant the day she wore that purple and black sari. I love that Gayatri is playful and fun loving, but I also want her to be strong, smart, and confident. They also need to dress her like a queen. She doesn't need the long hair. I love Raj Mata's updos and Swarna blow out curls. Raj Mata attire is also royal. Gayatri should wear those types of clothes. Drashti is beautiful. They need to play with that!
I hate that Indian shows portray the main character as a righteous person willing to do anything. It's not wrong to be selfish. It's not wrong to have self-confidence. It's not wrong to have self respect. I hate that they showed Gayatri picking up Sona's shoes and being her maid. I hate that Gayatri agreed to dance and do things for Sona just to be "forgiven". Forgiven for what? Gayatri was never wrong. She didn't come in between anyone. Gayatri doesn't need to be royal like Raj Mata, but the least she can do is be strong, confident, head strong, and independent- qualities which Raj Mata exudes. There is just something about a strong, confident woman who is in control and can control that is just so appealing and should be showcased more often. I am tired of the way women are portrayed in shows.
