I am not so sure it is love yet. He is beginning to care .. on the edge of the precipice waiting to fall. I also see that hand holding as.. hey, I am ready to move forward and hopeful about starting this journey with you from this day forward. However I agree with everyone else .. the funeral in the background and just steps away is in pure bad taste.

I see that faraq padtha hain as a 'you matter to me' .. 'not as I am in love with you'.

@ Eruditely, Welcome to IF and Sushpectives.

I am glad my comments made you laugh. I am kinda goofy anyway but I am trying to tone down so as not to scandalize folks here.😆

I get what you are saying, the thought did occur to me. But as a seasoned soap viewer, I still felt they were rushing even the hand holding... the time they were looking at the comet with the funeral in the background. The editing, writing was not upto the mark either. And if the rumor about the show being under the scanner is true, they will rush the romance. Then they had male version of sawariya playing which to me indicates 'lau' wala faraq padta hai and that certainly was not the appropriate time for that song. That is why I wrote what I wrote. Does it make any sense? I am in a rush... will check back later.😳

Thank you. I am no seasoned soap viewer. This would be my first. Started watching with my mom. She was born just a little before 1947, and it is nice to get her perspective on things unfolding. She watches quite a few soaps and I have caught a few moments here and there, so my impression had always been that they take their time .. the FL moving from kitchen to foyer is a month long viewing .. or so I thought .. This is rushed, I agree .. both for soaps in general and the story line .. the man has just decided he wants to get over Sula and his grief, they have just witnessed death 20 steps behind them and here they are hand holding and gazing at each other .. my POV was me trying to convince myself that it is going in a totally different direction .. Mine 😊.

So RNJ did mean farak padta hai...the kyunki was left unsaid.

Somehow, I am enjoying this pace and direction...even though I least expected it.

This is where RNJ is different from every other ML...it is not about his need for her..but her expectations of him...this is where he learned to make a new friend, who'd make him laugh under the stars...

I don't know what exactly is happening..I am just loving this equation between RaGa. Will wait to see where they are taking this.

Agar aap ko kuchh ho jaata toh hum...fill in the blanks...

...hum apne aap ko maaf nahi kar sakte?

How is that a declaration of love?

Couldn't that be a man looking out for the new friend he made too?

I feel / hope what we are about to witness now is Ranaji falling in love with this friend.😳

RNJ is a man who is quick to feel, be it anger or love! His responses on most matters have been visceral! At least when it comes to G, it has been that way!
In a matter of a few days, their relationship has gone through such a tumultuous phase that slow and steady is not even an option here. He was shocked by the identity of his bride to be, thought her manipulative and scheming, yet found himself reacting to her pain whether out of duty or chivalry, flew into a rage when faced with her possible infidelity, abandoned her in the jungle, saved her from falling off a cliff and a snake bite, felt guilty because she had gone through all of this due to his baseless allegations, was frightened out of wits when it seemed she would die, went on his knees and pleaded with the Gods to save her and then finally, broke down in her arms when he was made to realize that he had failed to fulfill his kingly duties.

After all this, I don't think it is possible to take things slow. Sula, a memory that he was holding on to stubbornly, is pretty much fading slowly from his conscious. It took G to bring her back into focus.

He has seen and felt the madness of G's love!

He is as human as the next man at the end of the day. He has starved himself of love and affection for the last many years on account of a misplaced guilt. Now suddenly, he is in the company of a woman who drowns him with love. She has managed to find a crack in the walls that surround his heart and crept in without him either realizing or acknowledging!

How does he push her back now? How long does he deny her and himself?

His heart and soul have been starved of love for six years! I would say that is too long already!

He knows her as a person, he appreciates her humane qualities, her courage and his misconceptions have been cleared. She is a stunning woman besides.

What more should he wait for? Should he stand on pride and ego still?

Go for it RNJ is what I would say! Embrace it with all your might, give it whatever name you will!

Your shell is well and truly broken! Nothing left to hide behind now!

IF wouldn't let me login for whatever reason But here's my quick rant:
Like many, I also feel the "farq padtha hai" phase is rushed but I won't delve on to that as I whole-heartedly agree with Sush's take on this.I'd like to believe that their relationship is deeper than friendship and rooted into love, this sweet transition where he can speak to her, and she to him, and disclose what they yearn the most and what they fear the most without the fear of being judged.

There are certain things about the episode that didn't make any sense whatsoever. Like how did the baba even think of holding the King and queen captive,AND get away with it? How is Ranaji staying calm even after the major meltdown the previous day? I know that staying calm under fire is indoctrinated right from childhood among royalties and war veterans but Ranaji behaved as if the struggles of his subjects aren't even at the back of his mind and that's discordant with how he's been conceived so far by the creatives --He is a king for whom the magnitude of damage done to his subjects by virtue of his dereliction of duty doesn't matter. It's his extremely immense sense of accountability and empathy toward any human being that make him the King he is, straight as an arrow and virtuous. Shouldn't he try to know more about the ambush right away which took away lives of his subjects instead of having a moment with the Queen admiring the shooting star? It felt really absurd and disrespectful for a King to be shown in that light

Also, I have no words for the degenerate Lakshraj. He needs to fudge off from the face of the earth😡

Word!!
I think we will see more from him on the whole freedom struggle issue...He may not have been able to do anything now...which he acknowledged ...but he will take up the cause... He will be a people's King...and not a puppet of the English...I have high hopes!
