I think the gold standard for FL characterization on desi TV has to be Kashaf in recent times. So what if she is Pakistani, let us appropriate her for this purpose.

I found her cute because she was not trying to be cute. Far from it! She was cute because she was trying her damndest not to be cute or mushy or sweet. And that was what made her so appealing!
She was vulnerable and yet smart and witty!

Kashaf has to be the most well written female lead in recent times..if they start modelling desi FL's so maturely, it would be a great to watch for sure

RGD was cute yesterday and it looked forced coz like you said she wasn't trying to be cute..the scene where she questions him as to who is taking care of her and the following part was a good contrast

HITS :

a) It was a nice episode with a lot of inspiration from Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra. But, I liked the SRK-Kajol "palat" better, because I was caught off-guard and was pleasantly surprised. Rana Deo was amazingly characterised as he walked confidently towards Gayatri and very solemnly took his royal chair and walked out. The chemistry was excellent. 😳

b) The reading session was interestingly portrayed. I would hav preferred a Tagore (Chokher Bali) or Madhushala or even better "Charitraheen"...

c) Rana Deo got his emoting right. I am a really happy person today as I hav seen varied expressions fleeting across the male protagonist. It was worth the wait...😃

d) Gayatri is very expressive and her expressions are spot on.

MISSES :

a) I cant believe the editing can be so shoddy. The opening sequence was a complete blunder. Did the director /editor forget what they showed in the previous episode?

b) Chacha-chachi roaming the forest at night? If that was the only way of kidnapping Chachaji, very lame indeed!

c) Gayatri insisting on clarification from Rana Deo about the status quo. Is he a husband or a KING? I was pissed off. Why is she throwing herself at him. Give him some space, please!! Is she blind that he is at least decent and a gentleman?

I can't think of anything else he could say...I mean Sona is the only constant so far 😆...but like you said, any way the dargah drama is going to unfold...simple or complex doesn't matter...can be shared leisurely at a later time...if at all!

I think the question about pati or Raja was important for her. He could have easily asked a female house help to be with her or even Yashoda. I think what she meant was she did'nt want to misunderstand like the earlier instances. Yes, the palat dialogue told us she was hoping he would choose pati, but he made it very clear that was not the case. I think I actually felt really sad for her in this episode rather than any other episode, including the SR.

Though am hoping today's outburst does'nt come across as forcing an answer out of him.

I don't know if she was serious about the tweet. Because the reading was about a passionate kiss...so she was just teasing about RaGa kiss.😆 Sort of like...would it be as passionate as what he read./..the only kiss I can think of now is a fatherly kiss at the dargah.😆

I hope the creatives are not getting excited...they tend to lose out on the story then. (One lady used to do it in RR, I remember..she used to get so excited about the chemistry scenes.😆)

But this whole kiss reading was an excellent plot.👏 Kudos to whoever thought it up.👍🏼

Random thoughts...two of my posts in the morning got swallowed up.

Lovely posts, Sush. I loved this epi...the best so far for me.👏 But I don't think ST can take the credit for it...it was better than anything he has ever written. Plus his name is not on the credits.

I loved DD in this episode..she was breathtakingly beautiful. Been drooling over that saree since the spoiler days.. the colour look really good on her./ What eyes! Even the Red Eye looked royal!

Very interesting to see how they are taking this. RNJ tries to apologise through actions...but Gayatri wants words. She misreads his actions as INTERFERENCE. Be it getting her soup tasted, or hanging around her room or looking after her..she is not interested, since she wants reassurance...which he is not able to give, because he knows his words of apology are never going to be enough.

The Book Reading- what an excellent way to showcase the differing personalties. G know sher husband well..knew he'd disapprove of the content...which he did too.😆

She finds his reading habits too serious...typical husband and wife. Loved G's expressions as she was looking anywhere but at him during the elaborate description! EPIC!🤣

RNJ looked both mature and childish...I loved two scenes which were written really well. One was G settling on the sofa, and him getting up to make space for her...and the other when he comes back for the chair. He was adamant about guarding his queen..G thinks he doesn't know his feelings..she speaks and knows the truth...but she is going to see only the version he is aware of , when the Sula truth hits her. I think that is going to be the most painful revelation of all for Gayatri.

Precap- Rani starts misreading Ranaji? Everything that he does now is to get rid of her or to show his dominance? I wonder how RNJ is going to read her impatience and frustration...He looked really confused at her behaviour...😆
