28th September

Gayatri is in cloud 9 thinking about everything Ranaji did for her. Then she remembers the hurt he got during the duel and goes to him with medicine. Ranaji is startled to see her, but without giving him a chance she leaves the place smiling. The Suhaag raat of Rana ji and Gayatri is arranged and Rajamata gives Suvarnalekha the dress Rani Gayatri Devi should be wearing for the night. But some mystery woman changes them with Rani Sulakshana's Lehenga and Suvarna unknowingly gets Gayatri ready in the same dress. On the other side, Kokila is upset about the night and Kunwar consoles her which is overheard by Rajamata Priyamvada who punishes Kokila by imprisoning her in a room. The episode ends with Rana ji remembering his Rani Sulakshana looking at the old albums while Gayatri is nervously waiting for the night.

29th September

RAjamata Priyamvada comes to meet a distressed Ranaji to talk about Gayatri. But Ranaji refuses to have anything to do with Gayatri other than the fact that she will stay Rani of Ameerkot. Then Ranaji leaves his study and moves to his room where Gayatri is waiting for him in Rani Sulakshana's Lehenga. Once he sees this, everything in him snaps. He pulls Gayatri out and goes about calling her a schemer, actress, opportunist and what not upon using the situation of the debt for her advantage to become the Queen. He refuses to know about any letter she wrote about her love and also accepting the marriage which stuns Gayatri as she remembered the proposal of Rajamata and her father giving her back the letter she wrote to Ranaji. He even confesses that he did not complete Sindoor Rasam as he did not want to which completely shocks Gayatri. At last he declares that other than hatredness, she will see no other emotion for her from him and they will just be Rana and Rani to the world other than which there will not be any other relationship hearing which a heartbroken Gayatri runs out of Rajmahal to stand drenched in the heavy rain that mingles with her tears. On the other side, the mysterious woman does thank god and celebrates her victory on whatever she had planned for Rana and Gayatri.

30th September

Gayatri stands outside the Rajmahal not minding the heavy rain nor getting drenched herself as she replays every word Ranaji said to her about their relationship and their marriage. At last she breaks down completely thinking of her fate that has bounded her to this unwanted husband and a marriage that has no love. Suddenly Ranaji comes and pulls her to her feet. He asks her what is she doing outside at this time in this weather to which Gayatri heatedly replies that she will not stay in such place where she is not respected and she definitely will not continue a marriage that does not offer her love and she informs him that she is leaving the Rajmahal and going back to her home, to her father. Ranaji tries to maker her think about it as she is Rani now but Gayatri stays stubborn and at last Ranaji obliges to her request but asks her to change and stay the night so that they can leave in daylight. When this news comes to Rajamata Priyamvada she tries to stop Gayatri. But an angry Gayatri refuses to listen to anyone. At last Priyamvada challenges Gayatri to make her marriage work while she takes matter with Ranaji in her hands. But Ranaji is stubborn too to pay heeds to her words. With all these confusion going on, Kunwar and Kokila celebrate their victory on having Gayatri leave the place. Kokila takes another step to confirm her leaving by showing Gayatri Rani Sulakshana's private room where there are her pictures wearing the same Lehenga as Gayatri making Gayatri realize the reason for Ranaji not loving her.

1st October

Ranaji is trying to mellow his horse down trying to keep his mind off the things that was happening around him when Gayatri comes and calls him. Once the horse is taken care of, Gayatri demands answers for everything that has happened in her life in name of marriage and tells him that if this is some game for him, he better get her the answers before everything ends. When he says that he is ready to answer, she asks him if he is angry on her because she wore Rani Sulakshana's Lehenga or because he still loves her and cannot see anyone taking her place. She tries to assure him that she respects his love and will not try to take her place when Ranaji cuts is saying that he hates her because of herself, for the way she and her father schemed everything to make her the Rani of Ameerkot, for using the debt to their advantage and striking deal with his life. Gayatri refuses to believe anything about the deal for which he taunts her that she is a good actress and is improving her skills well with each passing day and he also tells her to ask Seth Govind if she wants to know more. Gayatri thinks of her father's refusal about anything to do with Deal back then. Rajamata Priyamvada comes and asks her to get ready for the ritual for which Gayatri point blankly refused as neither she could lie nor others could take the truth. But as everyone in the hall are waiting for her, Suvarnalekha manages to bring her down among everyone's argument about Gayatri not being present for the ritual.The ritual begins and as Ranaji is about to wear her the toe ring, Gayatri stands up and apologizes to everyone and says that she cannot accept the toe ring which is only to worn by a woman for her husband's welfare. She goes on saying that she cannot wear it when she and Ranaji are not husband and wife in any sense and she has not been brought up to lie to people. Badi Rani admonishes Gayatri for making a scene and disrespecting the king and her family. But Gayatri puts her foot down and leaves the hall without paying heeds to the ritual which angers Ranaji more and he too leaves. Govind who watches everything asks Gayatri in Privacy about everything that is going on when Gayatri cuts in and asks him if the marriage was a deal. After so much beckoning, Govind confesses about the deal, breaking Gayatri further.

2nd October

Govind apologizes for what he has done to Gayatri and asks her to return home with him. He says the same to Rajamata Priyamvada who refuses to let Gayatri go with him as she is now Rani of Ameerkot and her daughter in law. But Govind unconvinced threatens Rajamata that if anything goes wrong, he will not hesitate to take his daughter back home with him. Rajamata tries to convince Gayatri about staying back at Rajmahal. Gayatri says that she may or may not, depending on Ranaji's acceptance and trust in her and goes to Ranaji to tell about her innocence but he does not listen to her and closes the door on her face. This makes Gayatri to decide to leave Rajmahal. She changes to her own saree and leaves with only whatever she brought here and leaves behind everything that was given to her by Raj parivaar. On the other hand Badi Rani taunts Priyamvada for making such a girl of normal household a Rani which resulted today in insulting of the Raj parivaar. She orders Priyamvada that Gayatri to be removed from Rajmahal. But a calm Priyamvada refuses to do so saying that this Rajmahal is her home and she gets to decide who stays and who leaves and Badi Rani doesn't have such rights as she is just Badi Rani by marriage, else she stays step mother to her husband Bade Rana ji which infuriates Badi Rani. But that does not have any effect on Priyamvada who makes her statement about guests should leave one day unlike family. There as Damayanti goes on ranting about Gayatri's safe and happy future to an upset Govind, Gayatri comes there which shocks Damayanti and further depresses Govind. Upon Damayanti's questioning, Gayatri just says that everything is over!

Damayanti advises Gayatri to go back to her husband and try to hold on to the man she loved the most. There in Rajmahal, Ranaji challenges Rajamata Priyamvada that if Gayatri does not return by evening, he will listen and accept Rajamata's words about Gayatri's innocence, but if Gayatri returns, Rajamata should accept that his speculation about Gayatri being an opportunist to be true!

The scene of the week is Gayatri standing up for herself than crying over her spilled milk for life. Gayatri thought that she is now married happily to the man she loves. She even thinks that this is a complete love match. And the circumstances continuously give her wrong sign about Ranaji's feelings for her. So believing everything she like any married woman, awaits for her man in his room on their Suhaag Raat with so many dreams that overcame her nerves. But her every single dream is broken when Ranaji brutally declares that their relationship is nothing than that of a Rana and Rani unlike husband and wife. He goes on calling her names for using an opportunity against him and becoming Rani which Gayatri is completely unaware of.

But still Gayatri does not falter. She goes on questioning him about the letter and asks him if he did not read it, if he did not love her then why did he send Rajamata with his proposal for her. But Ranaji completely refuses having knowledge about any letter she wrote which breaks Gayatri's hopes. He even says that he did not even know about the proposal and came to know only later. This further pushes Gayatri to the edge. At last Ranaji tells her that he hates her and he will not have any other feeling for her other than that, mainly never Love. And Gayatri breaks. She goes out running and breaks down in front of Rajmahal in heavy rain that is pouring. She thinks about everything that has passed between her and Ranaji, every moment. The weather is so stormy just like her broken heart.

But when Ranaji comes out and calls her inside stating that she should behave like a Rani, Gayatri snaps in saying that SHE IS NOT A RANI and SHE DOES NOT WANT TO BE ONE Stunning Ranaji completely. But still he tries to take her inside when Gayatri who has collected her broken pieces of her heart, refuses saying that she will not stay in a place where she has no respect and definitely not in a marriage with a husband who hates her.

This was a Gaay(cow) Bani Sherni(tigress) moment. She not just collected herself, she managed to show Ranaji that he cannot say anything and everything to her and expect her to nod her head for it. She is a woman made of self respect and she proved that. Her resolve did not falter even with Rajamata Priyamvada or Badi Rani nor for that fact that there were people around her. She stood truthful to herself and made it clear that she is a person to be respected and cannot be expected to stay quiet for everything that is being said or done to her just because she is not a royalty but a girl from normal household.

This scene showed the fighter Gayatri than the silent shy woman. She has strong resolve and she just composed herself so fast and made a stand to herself to fight for herself respect.

This week there was more drama with the emotional quotient being relatively high. There wasn't much room for comedy due to the heavy material that was being presented. That being said, there was only one funny scene in the entire week and that had occurred in Monday's episode where Kunwar Chachaji and Chachaji were conspiring to ruin Ranaji's and Gayatri's suhaag raat. The romantic exchange between them accompanied with the light music in the background made their conversation trivial but yet important in terms of their equation with each other. This is a couple that accept each other for their evil side and are willing to help each other in triumphing in their schemes. They stick and rely on each other in making their plans succeed.

Apart from the serious analytical side of this equation, the moment that had stood out to me the most was when Kunwar Chachaji called Kunwar Chachiji, Maharani. That small moment brought a stop to her crying filled her with happiness and smiles. Following this, Kunwar Chachiji thanks her husband for not saying any proverbs. It was an unneeded line that did not have much to contribute to the conversation but in terms of their characters and understanding of each other, it was.

Kunwar Chachaji and Kunwar Chachiji, regardless of how evil they are, they truly do complement each other as their sense of knowing and understanding the needs of one other is extremely high.

Though this scene was not well executed and was kind of rushed and unnecessary, but this Picture is Kind a symbolic for the future episodes.

She will be there (unknowingly or knowingly) to heal his scars (both physical and mental) No matter what!

Compared to last week, the events that have unfolded in these five episodes, they are highly contradicting. Last week, we witnessed a physical duel between Ranaji and Wilkinson where Ranaji was fighting for Gayatri's honor. The simple act of Ranaji crowning Gayatri as the official and rightful Queen of Ameerkot, was an act of love that Gayatri cherished very dearly.

However, as we have witnessed this week, the events that took place soured that affection. We saw another duel but this time it was saturated with high emotions and piercing words. At last Gayatri has found out the truth about the circumstances in which she got married and the true feelings that Ranaji harbors for her. She is no longer in a disillusion and although heartbroken, she can face situations knowing the whole truth.

There were some moments that were heavily dragged out (Gayatri running around the palace to cry in the rain), the exchange between Ranaji and Gayatri (some statements were repeated often), showing the division of Ranaji between Gayatri and Sulakshana etc. However, there were also moments where several of the actors' simply shined and had an extremely strong screen performance (Gayatri's confrontation with her dad; Raj Mata's confrontation with Badi Raja Mata, Ranaji being sarcastic with Raj Mata etc.). The latter few moments make up for the former as it is the latter ones that held the most impact.

There were a couple of scenes that stood out the most for me. I won't divulge into all of them as I do not wish to take up too much space, but I will preview about one in specific. It is about the concept of time. Ranaji had smashed the clock as he had wished to go back to the time when his first wife was by his side living, breathing and in the flesh. On the other hand, we have Gayatri who, upon seeing Ranaji enter the room for the suhaag raat had wished time to stop as the journey they were about to embark on would have consummated their love for each other. However, one thing led to another and has brought Gayatri to a junction where she can neither move forward as a wife nor as a Queen. She is at a standstill as the crucial and major decision of her life had been based on a lie and unfaithfulness. In this manner, Ranaji too, has reached another impasse in his life where he can neither move forward as a husband as he refuses to accept Gayatri as his wife. Nor can he move forwards as a King as his Queen has abandoned his side. Without the support of a stable Queen, the kingdom will fail to recognize him and his validity as a King.

In effect, both Ranaji and Gayatri have created obstacles in each other's life where it is going to be difficult for them to move on. It will be nearly impossible for them to do it on their own as they are not an ordinary married couple. The fact that they are from royalty makes their relationship all the more complicated as their priorities and loyalty are to lay with their citizens before themselves or each other.

All in all, it was a truly thought provoking week where the concepts of duty to the kingdom vs. duty to the spouse, loyalty and honesty, the closeness of family and most importantly time, were brought up.

I will rate this week a 4/5 as all the concepts mentioned above create for a really high drama for the long run of the show. However, there were some minor incidents here and there that could have been cut out.
