ETRETR 17-21st Review

Amidst all the week full of melodrama one thing that stood out for me is "father-daughter" bonding...it was indeed so heartening to see Govindji empathizing with Gayatri was going through...both Darshanji and Drashti were outstanding...specially loved their interaction...it is indeed a pleasure to such a broad-minded and progressive father who has instilled such optimism, resilience, encouraged her passion for reading and to dream about all that Gayatri wishes for... ...even when he has to give in to his wife's and sons demands, his helplessness and grief is evident and one can sense his feeling of having let his daughter down... If on the one hand it was this father-daughter relationship that stood out then coming close second would be the grandmother and grandson relationship that we was unveiled to is in this week...the comaraderie rapport that Ranaji seems to share with his grandmother, the Ranimaa...though as of now we have just been given a glimpse of their relationship...

Even though am really mad at Damayanti's stance towards Gayatri's future...her desperation to see her married off to the first alliance that comes for her is indeed makes us hate her...but then if one were to see or think from her point of view, one can see that she is the one being practical...she is daunted with the fear, fear because she is well aware that her daughters-in-law have no good intentions as far as Gayatri is concerned...and she can foresee her daughter's status in her brother's house once Govindji and she are no more...and for that even if she has to buy a secure and respectful future for her daughter she is willing to do so...moreover, she can foresee the hopelessness of Gayatri's one-sided adulation for Ranaji...but alas, in her haste to acquire name and respect and secure future for Gayatri she fails to foresee that she is selling off her happiness and dreams...she has clipped her daughter's wings and bought a golden cage for her...Either ways nobody's wrong...because if on one hand Gayatri's dreams appear to be totally out of reach then Damayanti's decision seems too harsh and hasteful...

Coming to Rajmata, why do I have a feeling that she has none but her own gain at heart.. Have no complaints as far as the actors are concerned, each doing adequate job...have to say that Siddhant Karnik as Ranaji is growing on me... Till now that story has been shaping up nicely...except for a slightly dragging going on with the palace party track, the week before... Lastly, despite all, just like Govindji and Gayatri, I feel "never give up on your dreams"...because at least when you reach for the stars you will end up with something in your fist...
