Exclusive: You can't drive on Plain road: Rachna S Parulkar

Rachna S Parulkar who set back a bench mark for the roles she played and though been deprived by many people but always been Royal Princess of Television.

How is the journey so far?

The journey has been really good. 2009 I started off my acting career and today it is 2016, it been a roller-coaster ride for me.

What made you opt this profession?

So I was Three years old and I saw the movie "Rangeela". When I saw Urmila on the screen I got inspired myself. She is my favorite and I use to copy her moves and expressions. After watching Rangeela I decided myself I will pick up acting as my career.

Is the journey been a cake walk?

Not really. But I have seen lot of ups and downs. You can't drive on very plain road. You will for sure come across speed breakers.

Do you faced any rejections?

Yea. So many (Laughs). Sometimes I don't fit the other, budget and date issues. So these all made me to reject some shows and few shows rejected me. I believes that character chooses you. It's not even about the rejection also.

How did you grab your first show "Saat Phere Saloni Ki Safar"?

I use to go for a dance class where my friend suggested me to go for this production house for an audition without any portfolio and all. Then I just gone with lip-gloss and compact. That is my makeup. Yes, I got finalized for the role. I got selected in my first audition itself.

"Ek Mutti Aasmaan" is the kick-ass start for your career. How did you grab the opportunity?

I was done with my second show and awaiting for a good role to come across me because I finished my education and everything. Then one day I got a call from DJ creative unit we want audition you for the role of Kalpana opposite to Ashish Chaudhary and you will play as the daughter for Shilpa Shirodhkar. Once I studied my character then I said Ok. Then I said how I should come? Then they said come as simple as you can. I gone with Kurtis, jeans and normal makeup. That's how I grab it.

How is working with Ashish Chaudhary?

With Ashish it been really good. He is, was and always been a supportive guy for me. He was older to me in age and I respect him that aspect too. Over all working with him and the show is very special to me.

Replacement in the show is a pre-planned or TRP stint?

I think a lot of politics going on that time. I don't know whether it is pre-planned or TRP stint, but the show gone off air once I exited from the show.

Do you feel deprived at the time of replacement?

I took in a positive stride. I know how much hard work I did for the show and given them my precious time and worked liked a donkey for them and then after that you been replaced due to some politics. I was very much aware that this is not the end for me.

Maharani Ajabde in Maharana Pratap. What appealed you most for the role?

First of all it is the lead role. Secondly it was completely contrast what I'm playing till now. Suddenly I get a chance to play a role of Royal Princess with so much jewelry, historic and as a warrior. Everything excited me and I just said myself "I have to do this."

What homework you did for the role of Ajabde?

I saw the Queen's posture, elegance and the way their express through the eyes. I just say I studied about the Queens will be.

What similarities you share with Kalpana and Ajabde?

Yea. Kalpana and I are both are outspoken and strong. Ajabde and I doesn't indulge in any fights but yes they both know when to open my mouth and fight for their rights. At the same time Kalpana, Ajabde share a common thing with me in being sensitive and doesn't hurt anyone.

Is any role which is very tough to portray and why you feel it?

I don't know. Forget about being tough, but if I get a chance to play a role I definitely I want to do something like Deepika Padukone did in Cock-Tail and Rekha played in the movie Khoobsurat. I feel every role for an actor should be like a challenging role.

Being an English literature student, can we see you in future as an author?

You never know. But yes I would never get into writing but definitely I would do something in literature. Because for me education and reading books is very close to my heart. I firmly believe you education stand you out among the people.

You are trained dancer, so can we see you in Jhalak this season?

Yes, for sure. If they offers me I would love to do and you all can see me.

Fans complain about you being less active in social networking sites. Comment on it?

Sorry. I'm very much inactive in Twitter. But yes very much active in Instagram. The reason is for being me not in Twitter is because of lot of misunderstandings happened and my hetic schedule also not given me much time. So this gap made me far from Twitter. My New Year resolution will be active in social media network with my fans.

Any projects in pipe-line?

Nothing as of now. Maharana Pratap is over. So I'm taking time for myself and meet people and friends.

Is it co-incidence or you feel the script demands that, once you take exit from the show, within no time the show will go off-air?

Hahahhahah. I have no idea. I think the love given by the fans for me and the show. They don't want me to exit me from any show what I do.

Message for your fans.

Thank you so much for the love. You people encouraged me a lot and made me sustained in the industry. I'm entertaining because of you people love. Keep giving me your blessings and shower your love on me.
