I sat down to write the next part of LBA but this idea came in my mind and I thought it would be perfect to become the second part of this shot.
So here it is, incomplete at the moment but will try to complete it asap.
"Tum hamesha mujhe hi pareshan kyun karte ho?" Kalpana yelled again on Raghav. It had become her habit. She cannot fight with him after that night when she promised to be friends with him but she is allowed to yell or atleast she takes the liberty and he never argued.
"You are my favourite person. Simple" he answered without any hints of mockery or tease. She stared at him with questioning eyes. "I am not even your proper friend and I am your favourite." "Well what you are to me is for me to think and decide, not you." She opened her mouth to argue but shut it thinking otherwise. They haven't spoken much with each other during all these years even when they share the same friend circle. They always maintained a distance (that is what she thinks). It was revelation to her that she is his favourite person when all they do all the time is either ignore or fight with each other. It's not that she trusts his words but it was surprising to know.
"Why don't you talk properly with me?" She was stunned to hear this, never has he asked her with so much sincerity about her attitude towards him. He cocked his eyebrow and looked at her with inquisition. She kept mum for few seconds, trying to find the right words to answer his question. After a brief silence she started "Well you flirt, with every girl, all the time." That's it. She stopped there and watched Raghav who was looking at her amusingly. "C'mon you have problem with that. If I won't flirt what will happen to those beautiful girls out there. How can you be so selfish!" She rolled her eyes while he grinned. She was exactly expecting this from him, stupid as ever, but his next line stunned her all over again. "You really think I'll take it as a reason. Like Seriously!" She furrowed her brows. "Don't look at me like this. You know this is not the only reason. Now spit it." She thought again whether to tell him what she actually thinks or leave the topic. She pondered a little more and decided to let him know what she really thinks of him.
"You are not independent." She paused to look at his expressions but found none. Taking it as a consent she became brutally honest with him. He should know! "You don't earn. You are not serious about your life. Till now you have not taken control of your life which is shame. All of us in the group are doing something to make good of our life. What about you?" She examined his expressions again. He was hurt that was sure but how much she had no idea and that is why she wanted him to react. He sighed when she didn't speak further. His signature smirk was back. "So you only talk to guys who earn." "No!" She replied instantly. "I talk to guys who are if not matured atleast independent and know what they are doing and what they want from life. You fall in none." "So you think I am lazy, don't like to work and don't want to take control of my life. Really!" "Yes." No word more. "Do you know my father. When I joined office I wanted to take the business to new heights but he didn't give me a single power. I have to ask everything to him. Everything! Why?" Anger against his father was evident. "I am his son, he should trust me but no he doesn't. I am to ask him everything and my every action should be accompanied with explanation. It's like he expects me to do big things but has tied my hands. I felt frustrated and hence stopped working. I go to office sit for 8 hours and come back. But that hasn't decreased my popularity. Except you all other girls like to talk to me, hang out with me. Some really try to seek my attention. I am still Raghav Singhania with shit loads of money. I am independent." He leaned on the parapet and smirked again, a sudden change in his attitude, from being frustrated to the cool guy that he was before others struck Kalpana in an odd way.
She smiled a little, just a small curve at the corner of her lips. "Who are you?" she asked. He looked at her to find if she was joking or is she really asking him this question. When looks didn't work he turned her around and checked her head. "No you haven't injured your head or forehead. Then how did you forget me all of a sudden. Remember we were having a conversation." He waved his hand mockingly. "Shut up! I do know who are you but do you know who are you?" He became serious and stood straight. He realised those three words carried a heavy weight with them.
"What do you mean? He asked sincerely. "It is a simple question. She smiled lightly as if the question is as simple as it sounds. "I didn't get it. Care to explain. He asked again. She sighed and finally got to the point "What is the meaning of being independent to you? He rolled his eyes. "Don't play riddles with me. Just come straight to the point. "Do you think we all are independent just because our father's supported us. No Raghav. It's not the case. We listened to them. We got scolded, we were not allowed to take decisions and we didn't. We earned their trust and made our ground firm to stand and become independent. We didn't take our surname as our qualification to become independent unlike you. "I have not taken it as my qualification. He retorted. "My father is not allowing me. "Why would he? What have you done to ask for power? In order to reach at the top you have to climb the ladder. You're to trying to reach the top by skipping the ladder altogether. That's not right. You are his son at home, in the office you are just an employee who is taken at a higher position because you are company's owners son. Don't abuse that privilege. Use it carefully. Learn, earn his trust and then ask for power. Your father cannot ask the board or shareholders to give you authority because you are his son. Make a background for yourself, for him so that he can stand before the board for you. His expressions said it all. He understood what she meant. "Raghav we all will move on in our life. What about you? He lowered his eyes. She was right. He hasn't made anything out his life. They all have achieved something but he is nowhere near to them. Giving him time to understand she left him on his own. "Good night Raghav. "Good Night."
For 3 days he pondered over her words. They met regularly after dinner at their meeting point but he remained quiet. It was noticed easily as he isn't amongst the ones to stay silent but he had excuse ready. "My date blew up that is all he said. All of them were shocked and laughed at him. "It seems you're losing your charm Singhania one of the friend commented. He rolled his eyes while inwardly he observed everybody's behaviour. They discussed general things but at times they talked about their professional life too. Everybody had something to offer except him. He somewhat realised what she meant. He looked at her only to find her looking at him with an expression "I know what you are trying to understand Her smile was soothing a comfort his confused mind needed at the very moment. He has been truly left behind. He has screwed his life and took a long time to realise the fact.
A sudden knock on the door disturbed KK Singhania's concentration. He looked up and found his son standing near the door of the cabin. "I presume you haven't come here to see how I work because as far as I remember work and you don't go hand in hand. Why are you here? His father's voice was stiff laden with disgust for his son which was not unknown to him, until few days before he was nothing short than a baggage of huge disappointment. He approached his desk. "May I? His father meanwhile studied him with bland expression. He nodded and waited for him to start.
"I want to work. Keeping his work in hand aside he leaned a little closer to his desk. "What! It wasn't a question he understood. He continued "I want to work under you. I don't want any authority or power; I just want to learn and help you and work. He finished and took a look at his father. "And why do you think I should believe that whatever you are saying is truth, that it is not an attempt of dare to mess with me or that it is not a prank. He was aware this was coming. "I have only one answer to all your doubts; I am your son and I am asking for a fair second chance with a promise I won't disappoint you this time. His expressions changed. There were no longer doubts lingering on his face. He studied him for a few more minutes and then a small smile earned its place on his lips. "Done He huffed and felt lighter. It was if he had held his breath all this time. "Thank you Dad for being so gracious. "Don't let me down. He nodded and left.
One Month Later
"Yaar sab aa gaye, ye Raghav kaha hai? Rohit inquired about his absence. "Lately he either doesn't show up at all or comes very late for few minutes only. Sound of horn broke their conversation. At 10 in the night he entered into the society. He stopped the car near them and asked them to wait. After half hour he joined them. "Welcome workaholic guy. Ever since you have started taking your work sincerely, you have changed. Dude Rome was not built in a day. "I know but I have to cope up with lot of things. I have to make good of the years lost. "You will for sure but don't loose yourself in this. He smiled and looked at Kalpana. For the first time he saw a glimpse of admiration in her big doe shaped eyes. She smiled at him. A smile that assured that he was on a right path. "Guys why don't we all go for a long drive. It will be fun. It has been a long time. "Let's bring the cars. "I'll bring mine. Raghav informed and left to bring his car.
Kalpana's phone buzzed. She read the message. "Sit with me this time. She looked up and at that very moment Raghav turned to look at her. Their eyes met and she gave her answer with a smile.
Note:- There are may be one or two parts left whereby you will see a mix of old and new Raghav and Kalpana (Nature wise)
