Raghav was waiting for Kalpi who dressed up in her sister's old loose sleeved top and a pant tiptoed outside the house through her room window which after meeting Raghav had become her door...

She sat behind him on the horseback and they both left for their favorite place .. the hill-side.. the place where their friendship began...

Two days after RagNa first meeting..

It was sunday morning.. her favorite day because it was the day when her step mom Kamla along with her sisters used to go to the town for shopping or for picnic and that meant no chores for her...

Stretching her arms Kalpi got up from the hard floor she called her bed..

"Kalpi", kika's voice came from the kitchen.. "Ya kika.. I'm up..", Kalpi said while getting up.. Folding her blanket she kept it near the stack of clothing placed in the corner of the room and headed to the kitchen...

"Hmmm...", Kalpi hummed while breathing in the delicious aroma of pancakes.."Yippee kika.. Pancakes!!!", Kalpi said in an over-excited tone and hugged kika from behind.. Removing Kalpi's hand Kika turned behind and said ,"You can have them but after coming back.. now go.."... "Ok ok.. I'm going.. I'll be back soon", saying so Kalpi headed to her room to get ready ..

While picking up her clothes from the small wooden cabinet near the window Kalpi found a note placed on it..

Dear Ms.Cranky (sorry I don't know your name),

Sorry for that day.. I just wanted to ride your horse ... Won't bother you again..

Raghav

Kalpi couldn't believe what she read.. Rereading the note she thought ,"The guy who was feeding tesoro and wanted to take him on a ride.. (in a matter-of-fact tone) by stealing him.. is apologising.. (nodding her head).. weird..".. Shrugging away those thoughts Kalpi went to freshen up...

"All set to go tessy..??", Kalpi said while hopping on the horse's back and made her way to the hill side.. There was a small temple over there.. It was the place where Kalpi used to go with her parents every sunday and now even after their death she continued going there ...

Her mom used to say that the temple was a place of happiness and solutions.. Whenever Kalpi had any problem or felt sad & alone she used to go there and another reason was that she felt her parent's presence over there.. she used to feel that they were there sitting with her..

Few minutes later Kalpi was standing in front of the small temple.. She was just about to go inside when she heard something.. sound of someone hitting the wood with knife or something..

The temple was not very well-known and the location being hill-top it didn't even attract many villagers as the journey was pretty tiring .. she wondered who it would be and then the sound came again.. but this time followed by a scream.. Kalpi immediately rushed to the place where the scream came from..

"Oh my god.. your hand is bleeding..", Kalpi said holding the guy's hand.. he had a hood on his bent head because of which she couldn't see his face.. the boy looked up to see the source of the concerned voice and..

"Ms.Cranky".. "Raghav", they blurted out in the same surprised tone one after the other.. "What are you..".. "Shut up.. look at your hand idiot.. wait I'll be right back..", Kalpi rushed to tessy and from the bag attached to his saddle she removed her handkerchief and water bottle and ran back to Raghav..

She pulled his hand making him wince in pain ,"sorry", she muttered.. Pouring the water on his injured hand she careful cleaned the wound and then tied the handkerchief to his hand.. "Done", she said.. "Thanks..", Raghav replied with a smile..

While moving away Kalpi saw the knife covered with blood lying on the floor and in a shocked tone said," You were trying to kill yourself!!!".. "No.. no.. ", Raghav blurted immediately as a reflex," I was just.. leave it..".. "No.. I want to know what you were doing..", Kalpi stubbornly said.. "Why??", Raghav replied..

Pursing her lips and narrowing her eyes Kalpi said," Because I saved you.. that's why..".. Raghav was just about to open his mouth to say something when Kalpi continued," You have two options.. Tell me willingly or I'll make you tell me forcefully.."

Raghav couldn't help but chuckle at her attitude .. " I was making weapons..".. Noticing the weird expression on her face he continued.. "I want to join the army so I'm practicing...".. That's when realisation dawned her.. "Ohhh.. so..",... "Ya.. I wanted to practise horse-riding and only your house in the nearby neighbourhood had a horse..", Raghav completed Kalpi's sentence..

"By the way what are you doing here??", Raghav asked.. Kalpi pointed to the temple.. She just egan to walk away and then turned back and said," And my name is Kalpana.. Not ms.cranky..", she said and went to the temple..

While she was getting up and leaving after her prayer she bumped into Raghav.. "Now what??", Kalpi asked.. "I'm also here to pray", Raghav replied.. They both went out of the temple.. "Listen Kalpana..", Raghav called out to Kalpi who was adjusting tessy's saddle.. She turned back and asked,"What happened..??".. Raghav walked to her and said," Needed a favour.. now that I have hurt my hand I can't pick up my stuff .. can you..??",.. "Ok".. Kalpi replied.. she didn't know why but she felt Raghav was a good guy and helping others is what her mom had taught her..

Two people with all the arrows and all that Raghav had made would be too much burden for tessy so Raghav and Kalpi decided that they'll walk down and just put the weapons on tessy's saddle..

With both of them having a talkative nature they became frends in no time... Raghav was talking about how his father was one of the king's loyal men and how he too wanted to be just like his father.. "Was..??", Kalpi asked .. Lowering his eyes Raghav said," He's no more..".. "Oh I'm sorry..", Kalpi said while in her mind cursing herself for her stupidity..

He then told her how his mom had died right after his birth and after his father's death he had beeen living a lonely life working at a shop in the village..

Then the discussion moved on to Kalpi's life.. Kalpi unknowingly had started trusting him.. she never was really open about her life or her emotions but the common string of deprivation from parent's love had tied their heart..

She told him how her mom died of illness and later on her dad married another woman named Kamla so that Kalpi would get mother's love .. Kamla who herself had two daughters .. few years later kalpi's dad too left her and her life slowly turned into hell.. she became a maid in her own house.. her step sister Paakhi was very rude to her but her other step sister Maya was a kind-hearted girl..

By the time they reached their destination they became really good friends.. every sunday and sometimes during the night-time Kalpi used to sneak out of her house using the window to go on horse riding with Raghav... also sometimes they sneaked into the palace to see the soldiers practicing ..

With their age their friendship too grew and they became a very important part of each other's lives..

P.S Became really long and I have to study so stopping here .. Prince Samar coming in next part..

and just to clear your doubt if at all it arises.. neither Raghav nor Kalpi have any feelings for each other right now .. they are just best friends..😊

Hope so all confusion due to last part is cleared..😊
