Kalpi opened the door. Sammy stood with Priya while on the other side Dhaval was standing with a warm smile on his face. Kalpi looked at the trio and passed a smile but when she looked at Dhaval her smile slowly faded away. She looked at him intently. She was looking at him as if trying to remember him. It wasn't the expression of being stranger it was confusion which was evident on her face. An ambiguous expression flashed on her face. She was actually trying to know if she had met him before. He looked familiar but then he was a stranger. Who is he?
Kalpi was staring at him. He was looking at her but at the same time tried to hide his excitement on seeing her. A wide range of emotions were visible on her face. All five of them were trying to read her. One moment she was happy the other moment her happiness fades away. She tried to smile but the next moment he expression changed. No one had the strength to ask her whether she is fine or not. After months they had seen her in such a state. Her eyes were brimming with tears. She felt her heart was thumping with joy on seeing someone who though being a stranger yet looked so familiar. She tried harder to remember him but her mind was constantly shunning her tries. She stressed further more for she deperately wanted to know who he is? Why is she feeling so connected with him? But her fragile form gave up and she slipped out.
Before Raghav can reach out to her Dhaval hold her tightly and screamed "Kalpana,Kalpana...wake up...please wake up." "Kalpi wake up please" Priya cried. "Kalpi uth jaa please." Pooja pleaded while Sammy just looked at his sweet heart. The worst fears he always had of loosing her were like coming true before his eyes. He looked at Raghav who was looking at her. He felt lost. Sammy came towards him and said "Raghav...raghav" He looked at him. In a pale tone he said "Lets take her to hospital. Call Dr.Jasraj." He went towards her. Dhaval looked at him in a manner evident enough to tell what he is feeling right now. Raghav carried Kalpana in his arms and all of them followed him.
They were sitting outside waiting for Doc to complete his examination. Silently praying that she should be fine. Raghav and Dhaval were sitting in the most distorted condition. While Sammy was pacing to and fro in the corridor. Last time when he was here he felt afraid of loosing Raghav and today its Kalpi.No doubt Kalpana was in dnger at that point of time too but that time she was just an employee but today she is his sweetheart. He looled at Raghav and Dhaval both. The girl inside the room is an integral part of their lives. Precisely most important part of their lives.
Raghav felt defeated. Last time his parents memories were brought alive and he broke down and now...now things have drastically changed. Today again he is seated here but now its Kalpi. Now he is connected to her somewhere. The memories of their outing were flashing before his eyes. Her smiling face, the mischievous grin and her excitement filled eyes. "No I cannot loose her. She has to come back to me." He thought "Was the decision of Dhaval's meet with Kalpi taken in haste? Should I have delayed it?" He looked at him who was sitting in even a worst position than him. Raghav still spent months with her but he...he didn't get to hear from her for past 2 months and now when he finally got to meet her she is here, in hospital and its all because of him. He cursed himself for showing his eagerness to meet her so early. But then this was something even he couldn't have imagine will happen. Tears were flowing freely from his eyes. His best friend was in hospital and all because of him. Raghav was feeling disgusted on thinking so low for Dhaval. "Nothing will happen to her. I am sure of it. God cannot punish his own child. He will take care of her. Don't worry. Everything happens for a reason and whatever will happen will happen for good." Raghav said calmly to Dhaval.
All of them looked at him. This change in Raghav can be credited only to Kalpi. She taught him how to live life and never hold any complains against it. Raghav felt better. He just convinced himself with one thing "Whatever the situation will be atleast she will be infront of his eyes and he will have time to revive his friendship again."
Dr. Jasraj came outside the room. Everyone looked at him with hopeful eyes. "Kalpan is still unconscious.We have done preliminary tests on her which shows the signs of over stress. Now I what to know exactly what happened? Last when I met her she was looking fine then all of a sudden what lead her to this situation!" "Doc " Raghav said "We were suppose to intoduce her to Dhaval as Sammy's cousin but before we could say anything she fainted." "Doctor Jasraj"Dhaval said in between "The manner in which she was looking at me it was clear that she was trying to recognise me. May be her inquisitiveness to know who I am lead her to take stress which her mind couldn't bear and she slipped out." "Hmmm, lets see what will be the after effects of this." "Doctor I hope her condition doesn't deteriorate." "Well it doesn't seem so currently but things will get clear once she wakes up. Don't worry Dhaval she is in a far better condition than the day when she was brought here post accident. She is a fighter and I am sure if she can out of that she will come out of this too. Things are definitely under control." Dhaval smiled meekly.
After almost two hours Kalpi showed signs of coming back to consciousness. Doc was called immediately. The hearts beats of all five of them were beating faster than usual. Everyone seemed to have just one feeling "I hope she is fine"
Doctor went in and finally the time arrived. Kalpana slowly opened her eyes. She looked at him. He looked at her. There was a brief conversation post which he smiled and she closed her eyes. She was still feeling giddy. Dr Jasraj after checking her came out. He looked at them and smiled inwardly. Last when she was admitted it was just Raghav and Sammy but today she has almost all her friends here. "Doc how is she?" Raghav and Dhaval asked in unison. "She is fine infact in a much better position. As I said before don't worry." "What is it Doc?" Sammy asked."The conversation you had with her." "Mr. Raizada theres nothing to be worried about. Kalpana is fine in fact what I thought for the first time I am happy that it proved wrong." "Please doc stop talking in riddles." "What is it please tell it." Sammy said looking at him helplessly.
"Kalpana has regained her memory back." This one statement brought a wave of happiness on everybody's face. Finally she is fit now. She is back to her normal life.The anguish she carried of missing her identity has now moved away. But soon the happiness was replaced with anxiety on Raghav's face. "Does she remember me? The time we had spent together. Does she remmber anything post accident?" He thought. "How can you say that Doc" Raghav asked thus bringing everyone to their normal state who till now were trying to sink in the news that Kalpi is back the way she was. "Wee Mr.Singhania she asked me to call Dhaval inside as she wants to talk to him." Doc's words were hitting him as daggers. She called him and not me. What proof can be better than this that how much she is connected to him. Here I was planning on how to introduce him and see mere his presence worked for her. For the first time he felt jealous of Dhaval. Jealous that now he will be secondary to Kalpana.Its obvious he forged a friendship with her in starting but now she is his best friend in real where as Dhaval has always been a real friend. He wanted to ask his confusion to him but before that Priya asked it. "Doctor does she remember us?" Hope,fear,confusion etched on each of their faces. All of them waited for his answer.
"Yes she does remember everything." Raghav heaved a sigh of relief. Now he knew what he has to do. "She remembers everything which means I still score a chance to revive our friendship."Momentarily happiness made a place on his face. "Doc how can you say that she remembers everything. I mean she called me and I know her from her childhood then..." "Dhaval she called me by my name. And I don't wear any badge that she read it. Nor do I give press interviews frequently that I am famous enough for her to recognize me in such a disheveled state. She called me by name which she didn't when she was admitted here first. Again, to confirm it even more I asked why was she here to which she replied that she had seen you and after that she fainted. And one more thing she knew she was in Singhania Mansion when she met you. So I guess its clear enough for us to understand that she remembers everything. That why I said tha I am happy I have been proved wrong. People generally don't remember the time they had spent during this phase but she does remember it. How much I don't know but she does remember it." All of them were happy to hear this piece of news.
Dhaval went inside the room. He was over joyed to meet his friend after such a long time. He was glad that he didn't have to speak a lie to her. He took quick steps towards her bed. She opened her eyes. They looked at each other. Their eyes were filled with tears. He looked at her with all the love and affection he had for her while she looked at him with all the trust she has on him. He hugged her tightly and she reciprocated. Raghv looked at the duo with tears in his eyes. He so wanted to be at Dhaval's place but he controlled his emotions knowing well that she needed TIME and he has to give her. She looked above and their eyes met. Time was frozen. Everything came to a stand still. She looked at him with confusion not knowing how to react. On one hand her heart wanted to be happy while on the other hand her mind said that he lied to her about their friendship. That he was her boss and not friend. Her heart argued "What he did was call of the time. He didn't know Dhaval and wanted to protect her from all the evils of the world. He did lie to her but then all that has happened in these months cannot be a lie. What else he could have said. No no he isn't wrong. Give him a chance." Her heart pleaded her to listen to it again like she always used to hear it. She looked at those eyes which were reflecting his love,affection and more over trust he has on this friendship.
Their eye lock was broken when Dhaval broke the hug. "Kalpana how are you? It has been a long time. You don't know how I felt when I didn't get a call from you, how I felt when I saw you and you didn't recognize me and today when you fainted I felt my world has shattered before my eyes. But now you are here and you remember everything. I am so happy. You can't even imagine about this." "Dhaval I am equally happy to see you here. Our friendship is so strong that your presence worked for me. Thank you so much Dhaval for coming and meeting me." They hugged again. Raghav lowered his eyes. He went from there and sat on the chair. He has decided that he won't go inside unless and until she calls him. "She looked at me and still she didn't call me inside. Why? Does she feel everything was fake. Does she feel our outing, the fun we had was fake." "Raghav" his heart said "Few moments before you said that she needs TIME and now you are saying this!! She took her own time to accept your friendship post accident so now why you are in such a hurry. Let her adjust herself in this new modified environment. She carried a different impression for you before she met with accident and then things changed and now you are her friend. She needs TIME and you should give it to her. You always knew the truth behind their friendship but she was competely unaware about it. Now she knows everything so give her time and see things will change for sure. Give her a chance." His heart spoke loudly from within. He thought "Yes I will give her a chance and our friendship too."
Dhaval spent some more time with her. Then Pooja came inside and met her. She was happy that things are finally settling down. After Dhaval,Pooja ,Priya Sammy came in. "Heyy sweet heart how are you?" He said in the fric of moment and realised that she isn't the same Kalpi. "I am sorry. How are you Kalpana?" "I am fine Sammy...Sir."His heart winced in pin on hearing Sir from her mouth. He couldn't gather the courage to talk further. He smiled and left. She knew he was hurt but she couldn't say Sammy,at the end he was her Boss too. She kept looking at the door waiting for that one man for whom her heart was not ready to accept any ill feelings. She kept looking and then the Time ceased to move ahead. He was standing at the door. He was not looking in her eyes. The fear of rejection was stopping him.
The walk from entrance door to her bed was the most difficult thing he could have ased for himself. But gathering all the strength he had he moved towards her. He couldn't stop his parents from going far away from him but he will do all that is possible to keep their friendship intact. She need TIME I will give her. Sh need space I will give her. But I won't allow her to go away from me. I will fight for this friendship of ours from all the odds that will come in our way. You just can't go away like this. Afte years I have build a relation and now I will take care of the fact that it doesn't get strained. With pure determination Raghav reached her bed. Their eyes never leaving each other.
"I know its strange how we became friends given the fact that we didn't even share a cordial relation. But now the situation is completely changed. I just cannot think ill about you. You have done so much for me. I know this friendship isn't fake but then it isn't easy for me to accept this old yet new change so easily. I have always followed my heart and today also I am following my heart. I will you a chance Raghav but I need some time to over come this sudden awkwardness that has engulfed me. Please try and understand." Kalpi thought to herself.
They both continued looking at each other.
So the truth is out now. Kalpi has got her memory back and knows very well the base of her and Raghav's friendship. She knows what he did was not wrong. He was not left with any option. Wheres Raghav was also feeling awkward. Raghav was always aware of their relation's trueness. He knew things won't be easy. Both were ready to give time to each other,space to each other. They knew their hearts were not ready to forget the beautiful relation they share. It wasn't an end to their journey rather it was another the beginning of a new phase of their journey. The relation that they shared till now was now going to take a new turn. And this time both knew the reality of their relation.
