Part 13 - First Fight, First Challenge
Vardhan was working in his cabin, when a knock came on his door.
"Come in "
A lady tall, beautiful with graceful personality entered his one cabin, one hand holding stack of papers and in another cup of coffee. After placing the papers on his desk, she came by his side and handed him the cup
"Here, your coffee" she said with a smile.
"Thanks Maya" sighed Vardhan closing the files and taking the cup. Yes, the lady was Maya Suryavanshi his wife.
"So everything's ready?" asked Maya taking a seat opposite to him.
"I suppose so "Sighed Vardhan after a long pause.
Taking a sip from his cup he continued
" You know Maya but this is the first time I'm not so sure that what I'm doing is right or not but I hope it is coz this is what is needed to be done and I hope it will be proved right in the end "
"It will Vardhan, it will...you just need to have faith and everything will be alright and as this is your first class it'll just go fine...but just remember one thing, I'll always support you" said Maya placing her hand on his.
"Thank you Maya, what would I do without you" said Vardhan getting ready for his first lecture.
"Nothing, of course " replied Maya with a cheeky smile.
Vardhan rolled his eyes at this; bidding by to Maya he made way to his class.

Raghav walked into the class and threw his bag on the right side of Sammy and sat down with a huff who fortunately or unfortunately was sitting a little towards left of Kalpana. He glanced towards her once to see her tapping impatiently on the notebook with her pen,
waiting for the class to start, he frowned seeing this, why was she behaving so indifferent as if she isn't interested...wait, WHAT...INTERESTED??? where the hell that even came from
" Raghav, you are going bonkers, what are you even thinking and remember how she talked to you...urgh forget it just concentrate on what you came to do here i.e. study" he told himself and turned straight towards front now really wishing for the class to start.
As Vardhan reached his class, almost every student stopped talking immediately after his arrival and those who don't were told to leave.
" Morning class...I'm Vardhan Suryavanshi as some of you know by orientation I'll be teaching you all Mathematics and those students who are not interested in it can leave the class this instance and shall continue their silly talks outside " said Vardhan glaring at few students who were constantly whispering into each other despite his arrival.
Kalpana could predict that Vardhan sir was a no-nonsense teacher and hoped to learneverything she can learn from him. Kalpana knew when that beautiful arrogant boy arrived and sat towards her left. She refused to look at him though but knew when he looked at her. She was upset, upset Kalpana why would you be upset with him...you don't even know him remember?? She chided herself and focused her attention on professor.
"So guys I know as your first class, I will start teaching with some basic mathematics in engineering...please take out your books and start taking notes " saying Vardhan turned towards the blackboard and started writing.
Soon an hour passed, the only sound coming was scratching of pen and of course of our dear Vardhan sir. As the bell was about to ring, Vardhan stood in front of students to make an announcement.
"So guys, now that you've entered this stream, there will be a lot more challenges, competitions coming your way and this is only a start as this is your first year...competitions will start two weeks from now and with every time period the level of which will be
increased. As practical knowledge of the subject or rather experience is more equivalent part in engineering. Whoever is interested can apply their names in next three days. I've given you all assignments which I want it complete by our next lecture...this is all " saying this Vardhan stormed out of the classroom leaving students excited, confused
and much more.
Kalpana was very excited after listening to this announcement. She sure wanted to apply it. Kalpana turned towards her friends to see same type of excitement on their faces as hers.
"I'm toh definitely participating in this competition...what about you three?" asked Kalpana excitedly.
"Of course Kalpi, we will after all there will be boys in these competition especially rough n tough ones" said the twins.
Kalpana's eyes widen hearing this
"You guys can't be serious...you are participating for this??"
All the time Anjali was enjoying the convo, she knows Kalpana's passion about machines and hearing someone entering the competition on an entirely different tangent she was sure to be astonished.
"Kalpi baby...these are what they call the hormones talking, so for whatever reason be it may...end result is we all are participating, chill"
"Absolutely right miss...what a conclusion you gave" a voice said behind them
Turning around, they saw a boy smiling at them or rather more particularly at Anjali.
Kalpana raised her eyebrows seeing this as the boy advanced towards them.
"Hii I'm Samar Raizada but you can call me Sammy" the boy said forwarding his hand to shake.
"Hii I'm Anjali Gupta but you can call me Anjali" Anjali said shaking his hand with closed smile.
"Hii I'm Anya and she is my twin sister Tanvi"
"Hello Anya, Tanvi"
Few sniggers were heard around them. All the while Kalpana could feel someone's eyes on her, she turned around to find beautiful arrogant boy staring directly at her. Kalpana was so engrossed in the conversation she even forgot for a second that this BB (Beautiful Boy) was also standing around them when Sammy approached them.
"Hii am Raghav Singhania, rank no.1"
Raghav said coming forward raising his hand for Kalpana to shake. He himself was surprised at his actions as what made him come forward and introduced him to a girl whom he can't understand.
Not only Raghav even Kalpana was staring surprisingly at him. She very well remember their encounter this morning which was pleasant in the least way and was not expecting any direct intro this early. Anyways, if he can be polite then so can her
"Hii I'm Kalpana Jhadav, RANK NO. 2...nice to meet you" said Kalpana stressing on the the word 'rank' before shaking his hand.
"I see but you are no competition for me coz this was just pure luck...real challenge will begin now and I know I will win it " said Raghav with a smirk.
Ouch! Not so polite now. Kalpana you should've known he's too proud to be polite. Just remember you are here to fulfill your dream and not to argue with some rich beautiful brat but he's so full of himself she
couldn't resist answering back to him.
Kalpana smiled tilting her head a bit
"Thank You so much for your concern but I'll go a bit easy on you as seeing you are so already full of yourself, you are bound to make some mistake which will be enough to make you fall down " she said in fake sweet voice, clearly enjoying his furious expression.
Raghav was furious at how she talked to him being a girl taunted him, forgetting his earlier amused genre he decided he will not rest until he make her pay as no one has dared to answer to him in this way forget challenging him.
Raghav was about to release her hand but Kalpana tightened her hold a bit, leaning towards him said
"Don't worry, I'll be here to catch you if you fall"
Both Kalpana and Raghav despite their bickering couldn't help but admire how perfectly their hands seem to fit into the other.
They were so lost in arguing with each other that they forgot to notice their friends stood gaping at them. Anjali was wondering how two of her statements got contradict today seeing Kalpana so casually talking to a guy she doesn't know while Sammy stood at his
spot shaking his head, with one thought in his mind
"Ho gaya Syapa!"
