Part 3 - Life Of Raghav
(NOTE : Not Proof-Read, Please ignore mistakes, if
any.)
Till now we've seen glimpses of Kalpana's life, of
what type of life she've been living till now. But
for a change let's take a look into another troubled
soul's life who is now presently living in another
world, A WORLD OF NIGHTMARES.
Suddenly he gets up with a jerk with sweat all over
running down his face and breathing heavily.
Images from the nightmare were still playing like a
movie in his mind.
His eyes were carrying a look of extreme pain and
anguish with a hint of longing hidden behind the
mask of anger and hatred, which were becoming
prominent by every breathing second as the images
from the nightmare or probably something else
continuously flashed before his eyes.
He tried blocking out the images from his mind by
shutting his eyes tight but nothing seemed to help.
But Raghav was not the one who will give up on a
single try. He again tried blocking those images
and this time was succeeded in doing so and now
was calming his ragged breathing.
For an outsider, Raghav looked like a person who
had run over miles but only he knew that running
miles is much better option than going through
these torture of nightmares.
After few minutes of calming himself, he reached
for glass of water placed on his bedside table only
to find it empty. He checked the time, it was 3:30
a.m. in the morning and he was in no mood to get
back to sleep and neither sleep was coming back to
him in anyway possible.
" Urgh...ab neend toh aane se rahi, chalo atleast I
can get this jug filled with water and can distract
myself from those unwanted thoughts. "
(Urgh...now I will not be able to sleep, chalo atleast I can get this jug filled with water and can distract myself from those unwanted thoughts) thought Raghav getting up from his bed.
He took the jug and moved out of his room, walking
down the staircase, he now reached the kitchen.
He took out the bottle from refrigerator and
quickly take a gulp of it to quench his thirst. The
chilled cold water seemed to calming his raging
nerves and helping in removing the remaining
essence of sleep from his mind.
" Finally kuch rahat mili "
(Finally,some relief) sighed Raghav.
While walking back from the kitchen, he looks
around his empty house which perfectly symbolises
his life I.e. E.M.P.T.Y
Loneliness and Emptiness, his only companions in
life from the tender age of 11, which seems to
have made a permanent place in his heart, causing
him immense pain.
Sighing again he reached his room which was dipped
in darkness with not even a single ray of light
present as there was still time left for dawn. He
laid down on his bed, trying to sleep as nothing can
be done at this time of night. He sighed
frustratingly getting up again thinking of what can
be done.
" Kya karun...kya karun "
(What to do...what to do) muttered Raghav.
"Hmm... " Raghav said getting an idea.
He laid down with his back facing the floor and
legs on the bed in a long criss-cross position with
his hands beneath his head and started doing his
all time favorite workout session.
By the time he ended his session, it was already
dawn with birds chirping around all the way and the
sun showering his light with a gentle yet a proud
smile adorning his face.
He checked the time, it was 5:10 a.m. and went to
the balcony adjoining his room through the
connected door and immediately closed his eyes in
reflex as the sun rays directly came in contact
with eyes. He slowly opened his eyes and stared
around the area of his house with a lost look
etched on his face.
FLASHBACK STARTS :
-------------------
A little boy of age around 7 is sleeping soundly in
his room, roaming in his dreamworld dreaming
about his happy family, with a sweet smile adorning
his face.
(NOTE : At this point of time...Little Raghav
doesn't know about the cruel reality of his mother)
In his dream, he is playing pakdam-pakdi (catching
the catch) with his mother and after running for a
longtime, he was caught and was now getting
tickled by soft hands of his mother, laughing
uncontrollably pleading her to stop.
Suddenly the feel of soft hands was replaced by
hard hands which seemed to be shaking him making
him frown in annoyance.
" Raghav baba, uthiye subah ho gayi hai "
(Raghav baba, wake up it's morning) said a
middle-aged man fondly called as Kaka sitting
beside little Raghav trying to wake him up.
" Sone dijiye na Kaka...bas do minute aur... "
(Please let me sleep Kaka...only two minutes...) said little Raghav moving his head on the other side.
" Raghav baba, aapke school ka time ho raha
hai...jaldi uth jayiye warna bus choot jayegi "
(Raghav baba it's already your school time or else you will miss your bus) said Kaka warning.
After hearing Kaka's warning little Raghav opened
his eyes, his small cute face adoring an expression
of extreme annoyance, making Kaka smile at him
fondly.
But soon his eyes widened in excitement
remembering what will happen in school today but
suddenly he became silent as if thinking something
deeply.
" Kya hua Raghav baba, aap aise achanak udas
kyun ho gaye? "
(What happen Raghav baba, why you're suddenly so upset?) asked Kaka looking at his sad and quiet face.
" Kaka...aapko pata hai, aaj na school mein
Father's Day celebration hai...kya papa aaj mere
saath aayenge? "
(Kaka...you know, today is Father's Day celebration in school...will dad come with me?) asked Little Raghav with his big innocent eyes filled with hope.
" Haan beta zarur chalenge aapke saath aur agar
nahi bhi aa paye kuch kaam ki wajah se toh main aa
jaunga...theek hai "
(Ofcourse son he will come with you, if not then I'll come) told Kaka making little Raghav smile happily.
By the time little Raghav got ready for school and
walked down the stairs, the living room door
opened marking the entry of his father Mr. Harsh
Singhania who was heavily drunk and blabbering
nonsense on his way leading by a blonde bimbo.
"Ah! what a fun we had Sonia, wow maza aa
gaya...thank you so much darlingg..."
(Ah! what a fun we had Sonia, wow I really liked it...thank you so much darlingg...) said drunken Harsh kissing her side of jaw shamelessly in front
of everyone.
" Papa, aaj mere school mein Father's Day
celebration hai...toh aap aayenge na? "
(Papa, today there is Father's Day celebration in school...you will come na?) asked little Raghav hopefully halting his steps.
After listening this, Harsh was staring at him as if
he'd grown two heads and suddenly started
laughing loudly making all the other occupants
frown in confusion.
" Kya kaha tune, haan...main aur tere school
jaunga, aisa kabhi nai hoga "
(What did you said haan...I will come to your school,never) said Harsh sternly.
He continued " Na toh tu mera beta hai aur na
main tera baap, samjha tu...tu bas uss Gauri Singhania ka beta, ek bhagodi ka beta hai "
(Neither you are my son nor I'm your father, you understand...you are only that Gauri Singhania's son, a son of a filthy coward) saying
this he started laughing menacingly and started
walking leaving behind little Raghav scared with
eyes full of tears.
FLASHBACK ENDS.

Suddenly there was a loud knock on the door
bringing him back from the trance making him
close his eyes.
He walked back into the room and
opened the door only to find his Kaka standing
there with a worried look on his face.
" Kaka aapko kuch chahiye tha? "
(Kaka do you want something?) enquired Raghav.
"Woh, Raghav baba aap abhi tak jogging ke liye nai
gaye..toh socha ek baar aakar check kar lun "
(Woh, Raghav baba you didn't go for your jogging yet so I thought to check on you) said Kaka concerned.
" Haan Kaka bas ja hi raha tha..aap jake apna
kaam kijiye "
(Haan Kaka I was just going only...you do your work) said Raghav politely.
Raghav then closed the door and leaned against it
while thinking about the bitter memory that just
visited him.
Earlier in life he dreamed about his mother and
wished her presence around him not knowing
anything about the cruel reality that will snatch
every reason from him in dreaming about HER.

So here it is introduction of Raghav..the most
toughest part I've written till now..hope you all like
