Kalpi woke in the middle of the night with her head aching from all the tears she had shed. She hated herself for feeling this way.

"How stupid can I be? I really need to get my head examined for daring to fall in love with someone like Vihaan who is the object of desire of almost half the country. How cocky and arrogant I was to think that Vihaan would not affect me. Now I have gone ahead and fallen in love with him. He told me he is attracted to me and he thinks I am beautiful, but it does not mean he is in love with me. How could he fall in love with an ordinary girl like me? God, I prided myself in being intelligent and how I did not have crushes on movie-stars, but I am stupider than all of them and I fell in love with Vihaan" she thought to herself.

Kalpi went and opened all the brochures about her college trying to drum up the excitement she had previously felt while filling the forms and writing her essay, but all she felt was numb. But finally her practical side made its entry and she decided that going away from Vihaan was the best thing she could do for herself. "Maybe it will be out of sight, out of mind", she thought. She did not know that it would just be "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" in this case. Finally she fell asleep as the first rays of dawn made its appearance.

Vihaan sat in the screening room for a long time absolutely stunned with the revelation that she was going to be gone soon. He had always known that she was going to be leaving sometime in future, but suddenly the time which seemed far away had approached him with the speed of a jet plane and he was totally not ready for it. In the short time she had become integral to his being. She had become too important for him to let go easily. But the truth was that he did not know what to do. He was too unsure of his feelings and hers and hence he was unable to make a decision. He knew that getting into the University was something she desired above all and she had achieved it. He did not want to stop her from achieving her dreams, but he hated the fact that those dreams took her away from him. He fell asleep only after he decided that he would request her to continue being in his life even after she went abroad.

In the morning, both met at the breakfast table. Both were feeling totally awkward, as if the comfort level that they had established yesterday had gone away.

Vihaan noticed her eyes looked puffy, as if she had been crying, but then he thought, why she would be crying. She is getting everything that she wanted. I must be stupid to assume something like that. Maybe she did not sleep because of all the excitement.

Kalpi was thinking about how these were going to be last few days that she was going to be spending with Vihaan. It made her want to weep all over again.

They spoke to each other in stilted sentences, as if they were strangers and not people who had shared their deep secrets with each other. Finally Vihaan took matters into his own hands and said.

"Kalpi, what are your plans? When do you have to leave for your studies? Are you joining the Fall semester" Vihaan asked. He hated the angry accusing tone of his voice, but he could not control his anger at her leaving.

Kalpi who was already beyond upset felt more miserable hearing his questions. She heard the words, but did not understand the feeling behind the words. She thought he was asking her about finding her replacement and about how soon she would leave.

"Yes, I am going to be joining the fall semester. But don't worry, I will find a suitable replacement before I leave." she said hating the thought of anyone else getting close to Vihaan. She had not even realized how possessive she had got about Vihaan.

"I am not worried about your replacement. I am sure there will be thousands of people who would die to take up this position" Vihaan said, still angry.

"Then find someone soon. I will resign and go away immediately." Kalpi said angrily almost in tears. She got up to walk away from the table worried that she would break down in front of Vihaan.

Instinctively Vihaan reacted and held her hand as she was leaving and pulled her towards him. Kalpi lost her balance and she fell onto his lap.

Immediately his hands went around her waist and he held her trapping her close to him. Kalpi who was too shocked to react did not even struggle.

She just sat there stunned not speaking just staring into Vihaan's eyes. Both kept looking at each other, their eyes speaking a thousand words, but both in too much of emotional state to understand.

Vihaan slowly raised one of his hands and slowly caressed her cheeks and said, "Kalpi, I don't want you to go. But I know this is your dream and you have to go. I know it is going to be difficult, but I have to accept it and I am trying to do that."

Kalpi's felt her heart break hearing the sincerity in his voice. She wanted to tell him that her dream was no longer focused on her degree in USA, but was in being with him forever. But she suddenly fell speechless.

"Kalpana, I will miss you very much", Vihaan said.

"Please tell me you love me. Ask me to stay", she thought, not daring to mouth the words.

"I will miss you too. I had a great time working for you", she said knowing the words to be totally inadequate.

Suddenly she realized her position and she struggled in his arms and got up awkwardly. Suddenly her phone rang and she saw that the call was from her dad.

She went away to take the call leaving Vihaan sitting there looking at the empty space where she stood.

Kalpi accepted her parent's congratulatory wishes half-heartedly. She tried to hide her unhappiness to the best of her ability. Her parents pride in her made her feel good, but they were not able to bring her out of the despair of unrequited love she was feeling. Her dad asked her whether she had told Vihaan about her move and when her last working day would be. She felt unable to answer these questions and she told her dad she would call back later as she was receiving another call.

Kalpi ran away to her room, feeling totally restless. She was unable to concentrate on anything. Today's morning encounter had really scared her witless. It confirmed her fears that she cared much more about Vihaan than he did and she would not be able to get over him so easily. She did not know how wrong she was about Vihaan not caring enough. Finally she decided she needed to get her restlessness under control somehow and she decided she would practice her dance. Dance was something which always calmed her down and gave her peace. She decided to go to the terrace and practice her dance.

Vihaan was in the same restless state as Kalpana and did not know what to do. He had not scheduled any shooting for 2 days during his parent's death anniversary and now he felt miserable as he had nothing to do and thoughts of Kalpana's leaving were plaguing his mind. He could have gone to the office, but he knew he would not be able to concentrate there anyway. He decided he would go for a swim.

As soon as he neared the pool, he heard sounds of Ghungroos coming from the terrace and he looked up. Kalpana must be practicing her dance he thought. Automatically his legs moved towards the terrace.

He went onto the terrace and slowly opened the door so as to not disturb her. Kalpi was dancing in a sort of trance. He body swayed to the music, while sweat was glistening on her brows. Though the steps she was performing were very complicated, she still looked absolutely graceful. Vihaan stood at the door awe-struck, gaping at her like a love-struck idiot. She was so engrossed in the dance that she did not notice him standing. Suddenly she did an elaborate twirl and in mid-step she saw Vihaan standing there watching her and she faltered and was about to fall. In a micro-second Vihaan was by her side, holding her at her waist.

She was held close to his bare chest. His bare body disconcerted her and she felt her heart beating faster but she did not move away. Vihaan looked into her face intensely admiring her beauty which was enhanced by the roses on her cheeks from the dancing. She had lowered her eyes and but their beautiful shape could not be hidden. There was sweat glistening on her forehead and it looked like fresh dew on beautiful flower and she still smelled all flowery. He was turning poetic but she definitely required poems to be written about her.

He slowly placed his hand under her chin and forced her to look into his eyes. "I could look at you dancing forever. You are an amazing dancer" he said, while what he meant was that he could look at her forever, period.

"Thanks", she said shyly.

She lowered her eyes again feeling totally shy by the promixity to his almost naked body, but her body refused to move away from him. She felt as if the body heat emanating from his body had melted her and moulded her to him. She was enjoying the strange sensations that were being generated in her body. She wished to get closer to him, but some inherent shyness stopped her from leaning onto him. But Vihaan had no such qualms. The feeling of attraction he had always felt for Kalpana overwhelmed him and he slowly brought her closer to him and held her tight.

It felt so right, being in each other's arms. Kalpi who had never been so close to any guy before did not feel any remorse or regret. It was just a feeling of rightness. When he slowly lowered his face to capture her lips, her only thought was to lean towards him so that their lips could meet faster. As soon as his lips touched hers softly, an explosion of fireworks engulfed her entire body. She had never felt so alive or vibrant. She responded shyly at first, when his lips actually softly caressed hers. Soon as his lips grew more insistent, Kalpi felt her passion grow, she clutched his bare back and responded to the kiss with equal fervor.

Vihaan felt his own passion increase to a point where he was almost losing control. Her response to his kisses and her soft hands on his bank actually brought him to a point of complete arousal.
Kalpi who was totally inexperienced and unschooled in ways of passion was shocked to feel Vihaan's arousal and she suddenly stiffened.

She suddenly removed her lips from his and tried to move away. It was as if a bucket of cold water had been doused on Vihaan. Vihaan wanted to pull her back to him and kiss her into submission, but he understood her fears and decided not to push her. It was the hardest decision he had ever taken.

He looked at her flushed face and felt his ardor peak up again, but with a great difficulty he stopped himself and said, "I am sorry, Kalpi, I got carried away."

Kalpi was just speechless totally stunned by her response to him. She suddenly realized that her love for Vihaan was quite capable of overcoming all her inhibitions and she ran away from the terrace, trying to get away from temptation.
