Actress Asha Negi, who recently returned from South Africa, where she was shooting for the fifth season of reality TV show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. Rohit Pramar caught up with her to talk about the fun she had filming the show and much more
Television actress Asha Negi is best known for winning the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 6, along with her partner, Rithvik Dhanjani. The former Miss Uttarakhand has won several accolades and is known for playing Purvi Kirloskar in Pavitra Rishta, which ended its run last year. Now, she's in the news again, having recently wrapped up shooting for the fifth season of reality TV show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. Take a look at what she's telling us about her career, the shoot and more.
What was the experience of shooting for Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi like?
Surprisingly, it was an amazing experience! I never expected myself to do so well on the show, because I usually underestimate herself. So, I wasn't confident about being on the show. In fact, I turned it down a couple of times before I actually did it, because I didn't want to embarrass myself while attempting to perform the stunts. But, Rithvik was confident of my ability and convinced me to participate in the fifth season. I did well on the show and made some good friends as well. I'm glad that I got to perform alongside the other contestants " they were all amazing.
In what ways would you say that the show challenged you?
The physical stunts are challenging, but more that the physical aspect, the show is a test of your willpower. There were times when people began to give up in the middle of the show! So, it was the mental aspect that challenged me. I did have second thoughts about my abilities and often thought of giving up and going home. But, I managed to keep myself focussed and stay determined.
The stunts are hard, but the locations are pretty great! Did you get to travel around and see places as well?
Not really, because we hardly got any time to ourselves. Whenever we did get free time, we would eat out at restaurants, party
and shop.
You haven't signed any new projects... is there anything coming up that we should know about?
I haven't finalised anything yet, but I am in talks with a few people. I am actually being a bit choosy, because I haven't really done much after Pavitra Rishta and Nach Baliye. I was a part of a daily soap called Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, but it didn't do well and went off air in a month. So, I'm now focussed on making good decisions. I guess I will take time to zero in on something.
Several TV stars are just waiting to get that big break in films. Are you looking at television shows or do you prefer films? Are you keen about acting in Bollywood as well?
I am keen about it, but I'm definitely not that desperate. Several films just come and go " you often don't even know what film released when and people hardly even watch half of them. So, I am not in a rush to start anything. If I get an offer from a good banner, then I will definitely act in a film. Otherwise, I am content with being in the television industry.
