Raghav grabs a handful of sindoor and fills Kalpi's maang with it. He says," This is my answer and the reason why you'll wait for me. I have loved you with my heart and soul and with God as witness I take you as my wife. Hopefully this is enough to make you realize how much I love you. It's only a matter of one year after which nothing will be able to separate us."
He asks her whether she'd wait for him. She nods and they hug.
Kamla appears from behind a pillar. Raghav says he has to leave because his mother isn't well. As he turns to go they both notice Kamla and are shocked. Kamla lifts her hand to slap Kalpi and Raghav lifts his to stop her. Kalpi holds Raghav's hands and stops him. Kamla asks Kalpi why she broke her promise and that it is obvious that she Raghav is more important to Kalpi than she is. Kamla breaks down.
BREAK
She cries and tells God that You have left me all alone- my daughter has left me and I no longer wish to stay in this world. Kalpi begs her not to blame herself. Kamla shouts at her about how when a child goes down the wrong path, the parents are losers. She berates Kalpi for breaking her trust and asks her not to call her aai. Kalpi explains her situation to Kamla and says she couldn't let Raghav end his life. Kamla asks her what is the meaning of the sindoor on her head. Raghav interferes and says Kalpi is not wrong. He says the situations were wrong, not our relationship. Kamla says that even if you'd married some girl other than Pakhi, my reaction would have been the same because every daughter is special. She adds that for me Pakhi and Kalpi are the same coz she has loved and treated them equally. She tells him that he'd never understand love and relationships and that he keeps flip-flopping between her daughters. Raghav is adamant that he has taken Kalpi as his wife and nothing will change that truth-not even her. Kamla says that Pakhi has absolute right over the sindoor and asks Kalpi to remove it.
BREAK
Kamla tells Kalpi that the sindoor in her maang symbolizes paap. Kalpi refuses. Kamla tries explaining to her the meaning of sindoor and should not be played with. Kalpi reacts angrily and says our love & marriage is pure and that Raghav has promised he'd leave Pakhi in one year. Kamla says that I will erase all memories of Raghav and not let him ruin our lives. When Kalpi tries to stop her, Kamla warns her if you stop me, you'll see me dead. Kamla washes away the sindoor with water. Despite her best efforts sindoor remains in Kalpi's maang. She throws a bucket of water and says now it's gone.
