Hey guys! I'm back with a new update of the Joint FF! Hope you all like it! 😃

Chapter 15

Raghav leaned against the door at the entrance of Kalpi's cabin. His face beamed with pride as he watched his wife meticulously doing her work with complete dedication. He had never once regretted his decision of hiring Kalpi. Sure he had done so at Kamla Ma's request but Kalpi had proved her worth since her first day at work.

Kalpi was so engrossed in preparing the presentation for the upcoming meeting with the Khuranas that she didn't feel Raghav's presence till he planted a kiss on her head. She looked up and smiled lovingly at her husband.

"Ready to head back home?"- Raghav asked.

"I still need ten-fifteen minutes to finish this presentation for tomorrow's meeting"- Kalpana replied apologetically as she could see the day's exhaustion all over Raghav's face.

"Can't you finish it tomorrow morning?"- Raghav asked with a frown.

"I wish I could but I have to e-mail this presentation to Sammy by tonight as he needs to prepare the report."- Kalpana replied.

Kalpi was feeling guilty as it had been a long day for both of them and she knew how much Raghav was looking forward to unwinding at home. "Why don't you wait for me downstairs in the car and I'll quickly finish up and come?"- Kalpi suggested.

"What? No way! Why should I wait in the car when I can wait with you?"- Raghav replied, annoyance clearly visible all over his face.

"Raghav! You know I won't be able to concentrate with you around"- Kalpi said teasingly.

Raghav looked even more exasperated but finally left the office after a little coaxing by Kalpi. Kalpi sat back down at her desk shaking her head in amusement before turning her attention back to the presentation.

Twenty minutes later when Kalpi exited the building, she was greeted with a heavy downpour. She took out her umbrella while her eyes looked around for Raghav. She was surprised as neither Raghav was waiting for her nor was his car anywhere in sight.

Kalpi hurriedly made her to the security guard on night duty questioning him if he had seen Raghav. The guard denied seeing Raghav as Kalpi ran to the car park. There weren't many cars as most employees had already left for the night but Raghav's black Audi was unmistakably still parked there.

Kalpi quickly took out her mobile phone and frantically dialed Raghav's number. It rang a couple of times before ending up in his voicemail. Kalpi tired a few more times but it went straight to voicemail each time. Kalpi was panicking now. It wasn't unlike Raghav to go somewhere without informing her.

Before the situation got the worst of her, Kalpi quickly dialed the one person who she knew she could count on.

Sammy answered Kalpi's call on the first ring and listened calmly as Kalpi explained the situation to him. He told her to stay where she was and that he was coming to get her.

Kalpi placed her phone back into her bag and silently played that this was not another one of Raghav's pranks.

The sudden gush of wind made Kalpi lose her balance as she watched her umbrella fly away into the middle of the night. Kalpi sat down besides Raghav's car, tears rolling down her cheeks as the rain drenched her. She rested her head against the door of the car, closing her eyes with nothing but Raghav on her mind.

Kalpi was suddenly jerked awake by Pakhi's frantic voice. She tried to open her eyes and focus on Pakhi but failed to do so.

Kalpi had no other memory of what happened next except being carried to a car by Sammy before it all went dark.

Hours later, Kalpi eyes flickered as she struggled to open her eyes. Slowly she managed to open them as the surrounding around her came into focus. The familiarity of the room and the comfort cause Kalpi to jolt awake.

She was in Raghav's room. There was no doubt about it. Kalpi had been here many times before marriage.

Raghav!

Kalpi quickly sat up as Raghav came to mind and she glanced around the empty room before making her way down to the living room. She was surprised to find Pakhi and Sammy sitting on the sofa, both busy in making calls.

Kalpi was just about to approach them when the main gate of the house opened and in stumbled a severely injured Raghav supported by none other than Gauri Tai...
