Heyy you lovely people! I know many of you want to throw something at me for this really late update but I was busy! 😳 Hope you understand and haven't forgotten me or the FF! 😆 I would like to dedicate this update to Savi, Shona and Pookhi for non-stop asking me to update! 🤗 So here's presenting Chapter 12:
Chapter 12
"Why did you take so long to come into my life?"- Raghav asked as he placed his head on Kalpana's lap and stretched out on the beach. Raghav looked up towards Kalpana as she looked around hesitantly before running her hand through Raghav's hair giving him her sweet innocent smile. "I could ask you the same thing."- Kalpana replied teasingly.
Raghav and Kalpana were enjoying a lazy Friday afternoon on Juhu beach. Raghav had just come back after a month long tour from West Indies and Kalpana had taken the day off from work to spend some time with him. Being a working day, the beach was pretty isolated and the two were getting the much needed privacy they wanted.
"'Fancy a walk on the beach?"- Raghav asked getting up and extending his hand towards Kalpana. "I could be persuaded."- Kalpana replied reaching out to grab Raghav's hand. Both began walking down the beach as Raghav slipped his hand into Kalpana's. Kalpana looked up at him and smile before linking her finger in between his. They walked together in silence for a while, simply appreciating each other's presence in their lives.
Finally Raghav spoke. "You remember the last time when I refused to enter the temple with you?"- Raghav asked quietly. Recalling the incident, Kalpana gently nodded her head encouraging him to continue. "I have a reason to be upset with God. He took away my mum's happiness and my childhood. He made me yearn for the love of a father..."- Raghav continued, his voice filled with pain and anger at the same time.
"My dad left my mom when I was a year old. My mom told me that he came home one day, packed his bags and left. He didn't say anything. He didn't utter a single word. He didn't even bother to give an explanation. Just left. The only time she heard from him was a week later when he sent the divorce papers through his lawyer. My mom tried time and again to contact him but to no avail."- Raghav said with utter disgust.
"I've seen my mother suffer Kalpi. I've seen her work endlessly to make ends meet. She always smiles in front of me but I've heard her crying in her room when she's alone. All the taunts she had to hear being a single mother. And yet she never gave up. She presented me with the best education and gave me every opportunity to pursue what I desired. She would take up double shifts at work but she never deprived me of anything. Whatever I am today, it's all because of her. I owe everything to my mother."- Raghav said his eyes tearing up.
Kalpana stopped and turned to face Raghav. She pulled Raghav close and looked into his eyes.
"I haven't shared this with anyone but I felt like I had to tell you."- Raghav said holding onto Kalpana's hands. Kalpana gently stroked Raghav's cheeks wiping away his tears before pulling him close to her again and snuggling into his chest. "I'm sorry Raghav."- Kalpana said softly.
Raghav then pulled away and leaned down before planting a sweet and tender kiss on Kalpana's lips. Kalpana kissed Raghav back with equal amount of passion before Raghav broke the kiss and lifted Kalpana in his arms.
"Put me down Raghav!"- Kalpana shrieked in surprise more than alarm as Raghav carried her towards the sea, laughing. Just then Raghav launched Kalpana into the air letting her fall into the water. Kalpana resurfaced coughing and giggling as she began splashing Raghav. Raghav too joined in splashing her back with equal enthusiasm.
Soon all the tension and unhappiness was forgotten as Raghav and Kalpana continued their water fight with each one trying to outdo the other behaving like teenagers.
"Okay, peace. You win!"- Kalpana said panting and raising her hands surrendering. Raghav grinned before once again lifting Kalpana and carrying her back to shore. Kalpana smiled looking at Raghav grinning and mentally promised herself that she would never give him a reason to be unhappy.
As Raghav gently put Kalpana down on the beach, Kalpana linked her arms around Raghav's neck pressing her lips onto his in a deep kiss while gently nibbling his lips. Finally they broke apart breathing in unison.
"I love you Mr. Singhania!"- Kalpana whispered as they stood in the middle of the beach embracing one another.
