Chap 12
After 10 Years.
In morning
Singhania household is prosperous with love and life. like always, Pakhi is running behind Trisha with Milk and she is not ready to drink it. Trisha goes to her Father.
Trisha : Dad, make mom understand I don't want to have milk.
Sammy : Pakhi, Don't torture on my sweetheart. She don't want to drink Milk, then don't force her.Right,sweetheart.
Trisha (in her innocent voice): Thanx,Dad.
Pakhi leaves the room muttering ' like daughter, like father. Sammy is no older than Tri'
Sammy : you are welcome. But do you know if u don't drink milk, Then ur body will not get calcium and u will be weak. you will become ill and doctor will give u injection.
Trisha (in afraid tone) : Injections.. no.. mom.. mom
Pakhi who is hiding near the door enters into the room and gives milk glass to trisha.
Trisha finishes it quickly. Sammy and Pakhi smile seeing her. Trisha is the best part of their life.
Pakhi : now get ready tri and come for breakfast.
Trisha leaves the room leaving Sammy and Pakhi.
Pakhi tries to leave when sammy pulls her by her arm and then holds her waist.
Sammy whispers in her ear : not so soon darling,you are forgetting something.
Pakhi : leave me sammy. Door is open.
Sammy : so what, I am romancing with my own wife.
Pakhi : Please Leave me Sammy. I have to do many work. I have to tell the chef what to cook for breakfast, What to pack in Trisha's lunchbox and help gouri aunty to prepare for tomorrow's Puja.
Sammy : Now I know why man loves girlfriend and hates wives.Because wives are so boring. You take care of everyone's needs, what about my needs.
Pakhi places quick peck on Sammy's cheek and frees herself from Sammy's grip and leaves saying: now manage with this only.
Sammy nods his head in disappointment.
At breakfast table, Gouri Singhania and Pakhi are instructing the servants to place everything perfectly as Raghav does not like any disorder.Trisha and sammy come for the breakfast.
Sammy : Where is Raghav aunty.
Trisha : dad, Look at the watch.
Sammy sees the watch showing time 8.55. As the watch shows 9, Raghav enters in the Hall. He is looking handsome and Charming as always in his three piece suit. He sits on his seat and starts having his breakfast.
Gouri looks at her son.Her son is most successful businessman of India. He has everything that a personwants from his life. He has a perfect life but gouri can sense there is something missing in his life But she does not know what. At first, She used to thought it is becoz of his troubled childhood.But gradually, she is realizing that there is something else which is making his son suffer so much.
Gouri speaks : Raghav, Now I don't want to hear any excuse. I want you to be settled in your life and I have chosen a girl for u. I want u to meet her.
Raghav : Mom, I had said a lot of times, I don't want to marry.
Trisha looks at Raghav and speaks in between : Dadi, I will search girl for my boyfriend. Right, Boyfriend?
Raghav smiles : No, girlfriend, I don't wanna marry.
Trisha (in her innocent voice) : No, You have to marry. Me and Dadi will search girl for u. Dadi, show me the girl. If I like her, then boyfriend will marry her.
Sammy and Pakhi looks at Raghav as he laughs listening Trisha's innocent chattering.
Sammy self thinks.
In last 10 years, everything have changed. Raghav found truth about his mother's suffering and father's death when he accidentally met Gouri aunty. Pakhi helped them to expose her parents deed. He and Pakhi got married and Trisha came in their life. Gouri aunty and Trisha came as ray of hope in Raghav's life after that day. Raghav was left shattered with Kalpana's decision. They did not see Kalpana again. Kalpana's family also left the chawl after sometime of her disappearance. sammy has a doubt that Pakhi is in constant touch with KamlaMa in all these years but They never mentioned Kalpana and KamlaMa's name in this house in last 10 years.And Raghav's marriage topic starts in breakfast table and dies at dinner time everyday. Today is no exception.
Sammy looks at Raghav and looks at his expressionless face and self thinks : your this mask can't hide ur pain from me. None knows you better than me, not even ur mom, Raghav and only one person apart from me was able to see u through ur facade and he remembers his sister, Trisha. Sammy looks at his daughter and smiles. Trisha was right, she came back in his life as his daughter.
Sammy : Sweetheart, complete ur breakfast fast. Dad will drop u school today.
Trisha smiles and starts grabbing food quickly and Pakhi looks at sammy and trisha in anger.
Pakhi : Tri, where are ur table manners and don't eat food like this.
Trisha (with her food stuffed mouth): but Mom, Dad told me to complete breakfast.
Pakhi : Don't talk while eating and ur dad will wait for u. So chew food properly.
Raghav and Gouri enjoy the bantering of sammy, Pakhi and Trisha. Gouri wishes same for Raghav and Raghav got lost in thoughts.
Raghav self thinks : I have lost everything becoz of my mistake. I could have my own family.
Raghav and sammy leave for office with Trisha. They drop her at school.
around 1.30, Sammy and Raghav are returning from a meeting in their car when Sammy receives call from Trisha's school.
Sammy : lets go to Trisha's school. Trisha's principle wants to meet me and Pakhi urgently. She is saying that Trisha had played some pranks in class. I have told her that I am coming and Pakhi is out of town.
Raghav turns the car and looks at him questioningly.
Sammy : Am I stupid that I will take Pakhi with me. She is already strict and always after Trisha.
Sammy and Raghav goes to school and enters into principal's cabin.
Trisha is with Principal and she is crying.
Principal : Mr. Raizada, Trisha had done a severe mistake. She had tried to scare her class teacher with Cockroach.
Sammy knows Trisha can't do it as she herself is afraid of cockroaches.
Sammy : Mam, I am sure, u r mistaking. Trisha can't do this.
Trisha : Mam, I have not done this.
Princpal :R u saying that Ur teacher is lying Trisha.
Raghav can't take it anymore and says : Trisha doesn't lie.
Principal till now did not mind raghav's presence but now turns to Sammy : Mr. raizada, Please ask ur friend not to interfere.
Suddenly a girl enters into Principal's cabin and asks sorry for crashing her gate.
Principal looks at the girl : Chahat, what are u doing here?
Chahat : Mam, I want to ask sorry from u. Actually I played the prank on the teacher
Principal : Chahat , what do yo mean by that. you are not in Trisha's class, Right.
Chahat : But my brother is in same class with Trisha and the teacher threatened him yesterday.
Principal : It is very bad Chahat. I have to take disciplinary action against you.
Chahat : Mam , I am sorry as an innocent girl is about to be punished becoz of me. but I am not sorry for what I did to that teacher.
Principal : Chahat.
Chahat : Mam, you can ask anyone, she is very rude and bad.
Principal looks at Sammy : Mr. raizada, I am sorry for wasting ur time.
Principal then tell Trisha and Chahat to go to their respective class.
Raghav , sammy come out of Principal's cabin with Trisha and Chahat and finds a boy is waiting impatiently there. Chahat goes and hugs him and then turns to Trisha.
Chahat : I am sorry, trisha. I am really very sorry.
Then she turns to sammy.
Chahat : U are Mr.Raizada, right . I am sorry Mr. raizada. I never meant to hurt Trisha.
Raghav intervenes : Do you really think sorry is enough as Trisha is on the verge of getting punished for your mistake.
Chahat sternly : But she is not got punished, right, Mr. whoever u are. As soon as My brother informed me that Trisha is accused for my doings, I have accepted everything. Otherwise they would never know that it is me. My plan never fails.
Saying so Chahat leaves with his brother leaving behind awestruck Raghav and sammy.
sammy : This girl has your arrogance, Raghav-'My plan never fails'.
Raghav does not know what makes him do this but he calls Chahat.
Raghav : listen, chahat.
Chahat turns toward him. Raghav goes to her.
Raghav : So, You think you are right as you saved Trisha from the principal mam.
Chahat : Do you want to argue with me Mr..
Raghav : Raghav Singhania, you can call me uncle.
Chahat : I don't make relations with unknown people Mr. singhania and I think you got my point wrong. I have said sorry though I did not do anything intentionally. I don't know Trisha, why do I hurt her. It was between me and that teacher. Now if u excuse me, I have to go to my class.
Sammy comes there: Lets leave Raghav. She is spoiled kid.
Raghav : No Sammy, She is not spoiled otherwise she never accepted her mistake. But she is different. She reminded me my childhood but she is lucky as her parents are with her. I think She is arrogant as she knows that she did not do anything wrong. I had watched Principal's face as she said that she was not sorry for what she did with the teacher. Her face's expression is showing that this girl is right.
Sammy : leave it , Raghav. lets go.
Raghav : Have u noticed her eyes Sammy.
Sammy is expecting this question from the moment they had seen Chahat. Her eyes are exactly like Kalpana's.
Sammy : Just forget it Raghav.
Raghav : you are right, sammy.
Sammy : can I say u something, Raghav?
Raghav : You can tell me anything. you are my best friend.
Sammy : Listen gouri aunty and agree for the marriage. we want to see u settled and happy.
Raghav smiles : Nothing will change but My marriage will ruin one more life, Sammy.
Sammy keeps mum as he knows that Raghav is saying truth but he does not know what to say to gouri aunty who is insisting him to make Raghav agree for the marriage.
At night,
At dinner table, Raghav, Gouri,Trisha, Pakhi and sammy are having their dinner.
Trisha tells them school's incident and Pakhi is angry on Sammy as he did not inform her about all this.
Trisha : Do you know dadi, chahat is very good and strong . She is not afraid of our bad teacher.
Pakhi : Just stay away from that girl, Tri. She will spoil u.
Trisha : No mom, the teacher had given punishment to swapnil though he was not at fault. she is very bad. Principal mam had taken action against her.
Pakhi : Swapnil ? I am hearing this name for first time.
Trisha : He is chahat's brother. he is in my class. They joined our school recently. do you know Chahat helped me before also.
Raghav : you have never mentioned that Chahat helped u before.
Trisha : boyfriend, u forgot. some days back, I was talking about a girl who helped me in my homework and also saved me from some bullying classmates. Chahat is the same girl but i did not know her name then.
Raghav : then invite ur new friends for tomorrow's puja.
Trisha : Ok, boyfriend.
Raghav does not know but something is pulling him towards the girl. He thinks if my child would have been alive, he/she would have been of same age as Chahat.
Gouri looks at Raghav who is lost in thoughts.
Next day.
In Singhania household, everyone is busy in preparing for Puja. Sammy drops Trisha at School and tells her that he will pick her and her friends at 3 pm.
Trisha looks for Chahat and Swapnil and invites them for Puja.
Chahat : I can't come as Mom does not know and I can't inform Mom now.
Trisha : you can call your mom.
Chahat calls her mom and asks permission to attend the puja.
Chahat : Ok. Me and swapnil will attend the puja. Thanks for ur invitation.
Sammy picks them at 3 pm.
At Singhania Mansion,
Puja is complete and everyone is taking blessing from God.
Chahat goes to Pakhi : Mrs. Raizada,right? can u lend me a dupatta for some time.
Pakhi is shocked but says : oh sure baby.
Chahat : I am not baby, Mrs. Raizada.
Pakhi gives her a dupatta and she covers her head with dupatta and covers her brother's head with the hanky she is carrying and they both bend in front of bappa's idol.
Gouri,Pakhi, raghav and Sammy look at them.
Chahat and swapnil stand up and go to Gouri as Gouri invites them to take prasad.
Chahat and swapnil sit with everyone to take prasad . Gouri and paki serve them food.
Trisha : Chahat, are not u afraid of cockroaches? I can't stand them and you gifted it to my class teacher.
Swapnil starts laughing.
Swapnil : Di and fear do not go together. Mam is lucky that I intervened otherwise Di is planning to gift her cute little snake.
Raghav and sammy look at chahat who is giggling with her brother and Trisha.
Raghav and Sammy remember the incident When Kalpana tried to do same in the office.
Raghav feels restless and stands up and tries to leave the place when Chahat's voice stopped her.
Chahat : Please finish left over prasad Mr. singhania. My mom always says that we should finish prasad completely as it is the blessing of god and we should not insult it by throwing it away.
Gouri is trying to say same thing to Raghav what Chahat told . Gouri is surprised to see such maturity in such a young girl.
Raghav sits down and eats prasad.
He looks at Chahat who is now feeding her brother so that he does not waste Prasad.
Raghav again tries to leave from there when Trisha intervenes.
Trisha : Boyfriend, please drop Chahat and swapnil to their home.
Chahat : No, its ok trisha, Mom will send someone to pick us. Don't worry and please Don't bother Mr. Singhania.
Gouri : Chahat, we should not call our elders like this. you are mature and you don't know this.
Chahat : Sorry, Mrs. Singhania but I don't believe in making relations. I came here as you invited us for Puja and aaji says never to say no for puja.
Chahat gets a call on her phone.
Chahat : Ok.. driver uncle .. we are coming.
Chahat : lets go bro and Thanks again for ur invitation.
Gouri : I don't know but there is something strange about this girl. she is sweet and mature but I think she fears to trust people and make new relations.
Note :
I know Kalpana is missing from this update. May be in next chapter Kalpana and Raghav will meet. I dont know as I am finding it lil difficult how to portray Kalpana after 10 years. Chahat is Kalpana and raghav's daughter. she has arrogance of Raghav and attitude of Kalpana. Who is swapnil and how is he related to Kalpana and Chahat. Hope, I will be able to answer all the questions in next update.
