Hey Shona, Hey Shona.

I am going to blame Shreya for wanting to burst into this song every time I see your postπŸ˜† Sowwie.

Monday's episode had so much to discuss about. I maxed out time and energy reserved for an entire week on IF on Monday itself by the time you made your post.

The last few desi shows I watched were replete with in your face kind of symbolism. The forum waasis spent hours discussing them. Then more time discussing them again after it played outπŸ˜› Looking back, I feel silly at what I did especially knowing that I usually dont watch a show for long and its just not worth my time and effort. CVs just are not able to sustain quality enough to keep me interested for long.

The simplicity of this show is what appealed to me when I started watching this show. There were some symbolism and signs even before Holi but I wanted to overlook them and just enjoy the show taking it at face value. But the symbolism in the Holi episodes were too many and were hard to ignore. They are (symbolism in general) a whole lot simpler in this show going with the overall story telling.

I cracked up when I saw your post because it reminded me there is just no escaping symbolism in a desi show.

You have covered pretty much everything in your lovely post and the GIFs enhance the reading experience. There was only one thing I would have added but Aahana already posted the honor symbolism associated with the dupatta. Maybe could add that Kalpi is up there and Raghav will have to climb stairs/mountains to get to her and subconsciously Kalpi is expecting him to and waiting for him.

BTW - In my zeal to take it at face value, my first thought when I saw Kalpi backing up and Raghav going up the stairs, I felt she wanted some privacy while talking to him. If you notice people could not see her standing on the stairs and would not have known Raghav was in conversation with her. πŸ˜‰

Today will be his first test. She retreats and we are all waiting and hoping he takes a step forward today or tomorrow.

LMAO that girl!! I know man, now every time I think of my name, I think of this song too πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
Haha I am usually late to making posts or topics because I watch it in US, precisely few hours later than it gets telecasted in India. By the time I come on IF, everyone gets done with discussing the episode and I make a post, waiting for replies alone in my room πŸ₯Ί
Kuch zyaada dramatic hogaya? lol. But the reality is that I do come later because of time difference so no need to worry. A lot of people usually read my posts late πŸ˜†

But I agree with you. It's hard to stay with a show - especially an Indian show. I am not bagging on Indian shows but I find myself in the same predicament. I can't seem to watch shows for too long. So I am really glad for EMA still holding my interest. Post confession, I just stop watching shows because they get too romantic-y and sort of boring. But EMA has surprised me so far. It actually got more interesting. Now, I can maybe see a little why they did confession at such an early stage - though it's a hard pill to swallow for me still.

Yaar, what's a desi show without symbolisms? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†
I love symbolisms because well...they make me happy πŸ€” (I really have no other reasons for it lol)

@bold - First I am glad that GIFs enhanced the reading experience because I love getting visuals when I am reading, mostly because I forget exact details of how it happened lol. Second, that's a really good symbolism and so true. This is exactly what's happening in the show. Raghav would have to go through pains to make Kalpi understand his true feelings and how they could actually work. He would have to work way harder to show how they can happen in reality. That symbolism is very apt πŸ‘

@blue - 😳 Oye hoye, Kalpi also wants privacy now that she is attracted to him πŸ˜†. Seriously though, That could probably be it too because she did really want to see him. And when they were talking upstairs, people downstairs could only see Raghav. That could symbolize that she wants this but she wants this to be private because she is still uncomfortable from the prying eyes of the society - look at me, still digging for symbolism πŸ€”

I am guessing that there will be many instances like these past episode. So, RagNa would have to learn to deal with it. At first, they will fight, misunderstand and get mad at each other. Eventually they will come to a solid ground of trust and understanding - at least that's what I am hoping!

The accident:
I was jumping up and down to see Akdoo Raghav back 😳 his total character change and sweetness was making me πŸ₯±

Raghav's arrival:

I liked this allot inspite of its bollywood cheesiness with flying dupatta πŸ˜› The scene had so many unspoken meanings and symbolisms. Kalpi was happy to see him & couldn't stop herself from flying down the stairs, the flying dupatta and seeing Rags walk towards her with intense smile made her scared & nervous which made her back track. She stopped and stood her ground to face Raghav to show him that her inner turmoil might be on overdrive but she still has the controls in her hand 😊 That was such a cute lil fight 😳 😳 Never thought Raghav could tease and Kalpi give him faltu attitude πŸ˜† πŸ˜† It was like if you can give attitude, am not far behind πŸ˜‰

Raghav's insecurities/the confession:

For a guy like Raghav Singhania its baffling to not get reply to his Q from anyone, especially girls. As he knows that they flock around him for his money, status, stylish demeanour & there is Kalpi who doesn't even give him ghass ( in Sammy's words ) πŸ˜† It was the honest and most logical words in his mind which he spoke and I totally loved it for its simplicity 😳 😳

Though I felt a tad irritated with Kalpi not getting a chance to properly color Raghav the accidental & symbolic coloring by both mellowed me 😳 πŸ˜† Having said that I disliked Raghav's actions in the next episode πŸ₯±

Adding more after the recent development πŸ˜‰
Raghav with his insecurities & lonely childhood fell in love with Kalpi, he fought his best to not succumb but Kalpi dear crawled into his heart somehow 😳 😳 He fell in love, but he's more obsessed with Kalpi at this stage. He is new to these feelings and hence his literal stalking & pressuring Kalpi for reply As for Kalpi she's awed by Raghav's confession & his attempts to get close to her when she's time and again reminded him about the 'Zameen-Aasmaan ka farak'

Raghav needs to look at Kalpi's world without the tinted glass & yesterday we got a glimpse of that which am hoping is just the beginning.πŸ˜ƒ And Kalpi needs to have deep feelings for Raghav to let go of her inhibitions, she needs to fall in love with him not the concept of being in love. I hope Raghav is patient & Kalpi courageous to hold hands & stand tall with each other to fight all odds for the happiness they deserve & are destined 😳 😳😳

Pheww!!! am done now, RagNa are making me write so much which my study papers failed to do πŸ˜†

Yo Sahana! What up girl? lol alright, let my swag die down now and get back to the reply πŸ˜†
Yaar, never stop yourself from making a post because of GIFs. If you aren't able to make GIFs then let me know! I will try my best to make 'em for ya (though they may be a little late)! Laziness, on the other hand, is a very valid excuse lol. Arre yaar, even I am happy and flattered that Shreya had time to comment, because it's always a pleasure to hear her input 😳

Dude you're like one of the only ones who feel that way. I try not to say it again and again but I completely agree with you! His sweetness was definitely giving be diabetes at first. It was just so hard to get used to after we saw him in other scenarios. So I was definitely happy with that!

You know what I loved about the dupatta scene the most. The fact that Kalpi was so excited to see him and she raced down the stairs but then she halted. She realized what she was doing. She realized that she shouldn't get swept away by her feelings so easily! I just love her because she's just so real. Her worries are real. Her world is real. Her thought-process is real. It's someone I want to be like. Still working on it! OMG yes, I thought so too, with Raghav having that intense smile on his face. It shows that she wants this but she is also scared at the intensity he brings with him. That's another reason she steps back, until one day she will feel just as strongly as him and they will share a common ground. That scene was definitely cherry for me because even Kalpi was giving attitude. It was so adorable. I would love to see more of that in the future!

Yup yaar. RS can't just understand her dilemma because he never came across someone who would say no to him. He has always received that kind of attention, mostly because of the power and status he holds in society. Even I would have wants Kalpi to apply color but I am also sort of happy that she didn't. Sort of like what happened. She accepted his love but before they could really do anything as a couple, she broke it off again. If you really see, that episode is just so full of symbolisms.

They both need to work on something as you mentioned. One needs to broaden his perspective, while the other needs to feel more deeply to let go of her past obstacles and inhibitions (as you pointed out). Yaar I feel like this show is making me become an analyst or something!

You already wrote such a marvelous comment. You should have just copy and pasted and made it another post πŸ˜† Seriously though it was so insightful so I am really grateful that you commented 😳

@ pink - Dang it, another symbolism but a good one. There really is no escaping symbolism in a desi show.

In all these beautiful discussions, I did not want to elaborate on the Pakhi interrupting Ragna before Kalpi put color on Raghav, pulling him away, him going with Pakhi reluctantly while his eyes were only searching, looking at Kalpi, her following him after he leaves, smiling from a distance wala symbolismπŸ˜† I am just going to ignore and stay in my happy bubble.

Sahana and Shona, I do not feel Raghav had suddenly turned sweet on Kalpi. Look carefully. He was the same pushy, stubborn, self-centred, impatient, go getter kind of businessman doing whatever it takes to seal the deal. His tone was polite, arrogance and attitude was in control but only for one day. Its another matter that one day was stretched over 4 episodesπŸ˜† Romance doesnt last long in desi shows so enjoy while it lasts. I am so hoping for accidental meetings, romantic encounters even before she confesses. She can take all the time she wants. But the romance and passion need to come in somehowπŸ˜‰

Anyhow, its interesting to watch two flawed, real characters fall in love and build a relationship gradually. It takes time, effort, patience, trust, understanding and a lot of work from both partners. Something both need to recognize and work towards. They are themselves the biggest obstacles in their own love story.

Sadly that is the truth

Off course romance & passion needs to come in like yesterday πŸ˜‰ Kalpi was harbouring for a sweet natured guy like her baba but Deva gave her intensely passionate Rags πŸ˜› πŸ˜› She has to buck up soon to keep up with him varna he has many chiriyas who are looking to roost with him πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

@bold...that is so so true, forget the zalim duniya its them & their stubborn streak who'l be their biggest hurdle in their pyar ki dastaan πŸ˜”

You guys both brought up some great points. These two are just so complex!

Look at us, all psychoanalyzing these two πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

Man, my brain is just so tired of explaining their behavior to everyone that now even I am done. I am just going to wait and see how it unfolds. Yaar, so many people are saying so many negative things. I am just trying my best to stay positive here, but people are bursting my happy bubble so bad πŸ₯Ί

I think too much analysis is getting to my brain lol. I am just going to kick back and watch them both fight, lecture each other, make up, become friends, become lovey dovey, and then be all romantic with each other. Then, problems will ensue, they will briefly separate but then try to tackle them together. They will succeed. Then Kalpi will get her EMA and then they would both be happy and get married. Then they will have bunch of munna and munnis and then be awesome parents! then they will live happily ever after with their munnas and munnis. That's that. And that's how EMA will end. There! That's my prediction for the future πŸ˜†
