The empty plate in the per cap is kind of symbolic of Kai's fate. She thinks she will get it but won't.

dont worry kalpi will feed herself...waise bhi he mother never feeded her from childhood...kalpi is gonna be a self made woman...i am proud of her.

Coz that plate is meant for rags to fill it with his love and kalpi can feed herself her mom has always given emptiness to her...I am proud of my kalpi...she's a born queen by fate..
