Can I just say first and foremost that everything about this episode was amazing! The writing, the pace, the direction, the subtleties in our leads! Just perfect!
Now onto Raghav and Kalpi. They stole the show away today, it was phenomenal. I think what was most poignant was in the car when Kalpi said that "more than myself I'm worried about you", and Raghav's response was "koi meri fikr kare mujhe isski aadat nahin hai". But aadat toh kissi bhi cheez ki lag sakti hai. And soon he'll find it near impossible to not see concern from Kalpi, and only Kalpi.
Why did he leave his house in a drunk stupor today? Why did he go all the way to Pakhi's place, the the people he hates? Because Kalpi asked him too, because if he didn't help her, her mother would never forgive her. And after everything Raghav put Kalpi through, after everything he said to her, she STILL made it a point to tell him that she cared whether he was alright or not. And he knows, looking at her in that moment, he is totally aware that he doesn't DESERVE that concern. Not from her, especially not from her. But being cared for, being loved, being shown affection, is not something Raghav has ever experienced, but now he has and it will break his hard exterior and it will grow to become his aadat.
And then a small, simple, "Sorry." That caught Kalpi off guard and she couldn't believe what she'd just heard. And then Raghav used that word again, aadat, that it's become his habit to surround himself with people who only establish relationships with him because they want to use him. And his explanation, his drunken explanation of himself at the hands of the woman he will grow to love. I can't believe he actually stumbled those words out of his mouth, but the way Kalpi looked at him, not like he was pathetic, but as someone who just needed love.
But it was amazing that Raghav betrayed his ego to not only apologize to but also thank Kalpi. Truly commendable. And the line "Tumne mujhe haarne nahin diya." EXACTLY. That is the very CORE of this relationship, that without fail, time and time again these two will rescue each other, and they will never let the other fall. Never. That they are each other's support, and pillar of strength.
It was so symbolic when Raghav couldn't take his hand off Kalpi's shoulder. The slow sure signs of an aadat. Because he's seen a glimpse of her concern, her worry, her very affection, and now he'll want more and more and more, and he'll push himself away at the same rate. Because of course he doesn't want to hurt himself, but he also doesn't want to hurt her.
At the end of the day, these two compliment each other like no one else.
