I see this forum favors kalpi and sees her as some sort of martyr and believes paakhi to be a spoiled girl that is selfish, but I am going to have to disagree here. Before you bring out the pitch forks, hear me out.
The ultimate villain in this serial is the one and only Kamla. In her so called goodness of the heart she has ruined lives of two impressionable children, paakhi and kalpi.
Kamla was only a maid, and as pertaining to her duty there are some boundaries that you can not cross. Irrespective of status. Kamla made paakhi so dependent on her that now paakhi can not function without her. Kamla could have taken a step back in their childhood, but no! She craved the importance paakhi gave her just as much as paakhi wanted genuine love.
paakhi despite security in life of wealth is very insecure because she fears being neglected. Therefore she is willing to fight for that love, no matter the cost. Here she is giving up wealth and her own flesh and bloood.
Kalpi on the other hand has been a victim of neglect. Her mother only saw her as means to further her reputation. Kalpi was not loved or praised for simply being their "princess", but she was looked upon as an opporutnity. They expected so much from her right from her birth. Where as there were no expectations from Pakya. Now she is consumed by that. She wants success. Not because that is the direction she wants for herself, but because that is the only way she can gain the love of her parents.
Both these girls are victim of Kamla. I have to say she made her own child a fighter while leaving the other weak in sorts. For this reason, I favor paakhi and want her to find a love that is truly her own. Not fake and not borrowed.
However at the end of the day, I believe both girls to be victims of Kamla and would like them both to ditch her and become friends. They can teach each other a lot!
My few points. Agree or disagree is fine.
edit: why I favor paakhi and raghav jodi - this show was promised to be different and that is why I watched. But the poor girl being smarter, simpler, and getting the rich guy over the rich girl is very cliched.
I for once want the rich guy to like the rich girl. And the main lead to be a middle class hardworking guy if he is to be paired with kalpi before she has made a name for herself. Then she can be the mover and shaker in the pair.
