Raghav and Kalpi. Both who are headstrong, hardworking, and missing something in their lives. Raghav having grown up without his parents, Kalpi having grown up without the desired affections of her own mother.
Raghav who hails from a rich family but has still worked hard to prove his worth, and Kalpi who hails from a lower financial class family and is working hard to remove the shadow of her rich counterpart from her life. What's intriguing is just how similar Raghav and Kalpi are, in terms of their determination and attitude. Both full of self confidence, and pride. Usually we see the opposites attract kind of story, but here they aren't really true opposites. Instead Kalpi is what Raghav would have been had he been born in the same situation as her. But Kalpi is soft, and wears down easy when she's given the love she craves, Raghav is hard and thick skinned, he's more of a battle.
Kalpi who has been neglected time and time again by her own mother, who has fallen into Pakhi's shadow so many times she's lost count. Kalpi has fought for what she has, and that is what I love about her, that she will always continue to fight. She is a survivor with a fighter's diligence. Kalpi never gives up, no matter how many times she's thrown out of the spotlight, no matter how many times her mother's smiles are given to Pakhi and not her, Kalpi continues on, she ventures forward and wills for more. But do you know how easy it is to have her put away her fight once she receives warmth? Kalpi physically melts at the touch of love and affection, it is so unabashedly human.
Raghav views the world in what he deems to be right and wrong, black and white. There is no grey for him, there are only two sides of the coin. He sees in Kalpi something he hasn't seen in anyone else, and it's the determination to prove that tomorrow will be a better day than today. It is her willpower, that reminds him so much of his own. But he's also seen a part of her she doesn't like to show to anyone, the part of her that misses her mother even if she's standing right next to her, the part of her that just wants her mother's love and affection and acceptance. There is something about her worn armour that draws him to her. When he saw her crying from afar his mind was abuzz with what went wrong, with how her mother could possibly be that indifferent to her.
And then, in a move I thought wouldn't happen at all, he thought about her again. His thoughts flying back to her broken face and her teared eyes, wondering what could have happened between Kalpi and Kamla maa. He knows there's more to the story and he has seen the lack of acknowledgement Kalpi gets, firsthand. Raghav is fully aware of how hard Kalpi worked to help her mother, he knows the unconditional she feels for her mother.
And then there is the fact that Raghav knows Pakhi well enough to know that she is in fact a girl who gets everything she wants, he doesn't like her attitude much, and is for the most part completely indifferent towards her. Which I personally love, it's completely refreshing, and I honestly believe that he will have no romantic feelings for Pakhi whatsoever. And anything Pakhi thinks she sees from his end will be completely hailing from the figment of her imagination.
But the point is that Raghav who knows there is something missing between Kalpi and Kamla maa, is letting it affect him, even when he doesn't want it too. He is the type of man who, without condition and limitations, will go out of his way to fix this. He will undoubtedly restore all the affection that Kalpi has lost in her life.
Kalpi however isn't a thing to be fixed, because she isn't broken, she's just in need of love, and Raghav doesn't fix broken things, he only does what is right, and in helping Kalpi he will do just that.
These two aren't like the all encompassing cosmic love story that we are so used to on Indian television. Instead they are subdued, two individuals who will come together only to become better versions of themselves. Kalpi will bring Raghav out from his jaded shell, and he in turn will love her and continue to love her, and will most importantly, choose her first and choose her always. He will know that she has always fallen victim to someone else's shadow and he will prove to her that she is worth so much more. That when she stands beside him she isn't Kalpi who comes from a chawl, she is Kalpi Yadav his equal. Worth so much more than she believes herself to be.
If the future track is anything like I hope it will be, then Pakhi who will find herself 'in love' with Raghav will demand for her parents to fix their relationship with him so she could go to him in the hopes of marriage. However, Raghav who has never had any intentions of any kind towards her, will simply detach himself from the situation. A firm 'no', and for him it's the end. By then I'm quite sure Kalpi will be working under Raghav somehow, and of course cliched office romance will ensue, but like I said, these two are not harsh extremes they are just human. Their romance won't be so consuming, it will be raw and tentative. Fast forward what will probably happen is that somehow or another Kamla will find out about Kalpi and Raghav's feelings (probably Kalpi's feelings for Raghav), and with a crying and helpless Pakhi on her shoulder will ask of Kalpi to give in and let Raghav go. In the reasoning that Raghav and Pakhi will be better suited than Kalpi and Raghav. Raghav who will probably get wind of this won't hesitate to take Kalpi's side, because like I said, he will always choose her. So basically Pakhi alone, and Raghav and Kalpi as endgame 😆
PS: I am not really active in this forum (you can find me in the Rang Rasiya forum), but it saddens me that this forum isn't as lively as some others, so I am going to do my bit and try to make posts here everyday. I hope you guys will like what I have to say, and if you do it will only give me more encouragement to bring some more life into this forum! I'm such a fan of this show, and I love that for once romance isn't the forefront of a show, instead it is just something that happens. x)
PPS: If anyone read ALL of that I send you loads of kisses and hugs 😳
