TOI: Behna to end as actors refuse to age

Telly show 'Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai' seems to have finally reached a close. If rumours are to be believed, it will breathe its last this July-end. Incidentally, the makers wanted to introduce a time leap but the actors weren't willing to age on screen.

Informs a source, "Taking a time leap required the actors to age on the screen and become parents. However, the cast refused to continue with the show, which has left the channel with no option but to end it on a happy note next month. Apparently, Kushal aka Virat had almost quit the show last month but the makers promised him a better storyline and wanted him to stay put. With the new storyline requiring him to become a father, the actor has declined."

Producer Siddharth Malhotra confirms, "The channel didn't want to shut the show. Both the channel and the production house tried reasoning with the cast. But since they are unwilling to play parents on screen, we have to forcibly end the show."
