os: the endVirat
He watched her silently as she walked away from him.Every step that she took, a part of him seemed to die.His heart was breaking into pieces. She was leaving him, rejecting him.She had rejected his proposal to marry her.The only time that he had tried sincerely to be responsible and mature, she had failed him. This was worse than anything that he had ever faced. Luck never seemed to be with him.His old friend has returned. And he was calling Virat.Despair was here.
Maanvi
She tried to hold back her tears as she walked away from him.She wanted to turn back, run towards him and hug him.She yearned to tell him that she was joking. But she couldn't.She closed her eyes wishing that she could just black out.She was doing this for him.His future.Better to disappoint him now than make him go through the pain of watching her die inch by inch. She wondered if he will find out about her cancer before her death. She hoped not.She heard a loud bang behind her.Virat must have punched something in anger.Him and his tantrums, she thought. She longed to turn back to see if he was alright. But she knew that doing that would weaken her resolve. Her resolve to leave him.Suddently she felt her vision getting dull. Was it because she was leaving him?, she wondered almost childishly.
"No"she whispered, both a plea and an answer. She felt the all too familiar wave of nausea hit her.Her world was spinning now.Her knees gave up underneath her.She had overworked her body too much.It was finally time for it to shut down. Her brain functioning had become sluggish but somehow she managed to think...where was Virat??.She prayed that he hadn't witnessed her giving up.
"Maanvi!"she heard him shout thus confirming her worst fears. She felt her head being lifted up from the cold hard ground and kept on his lap. She felt him shivering not understanding the happenings. She wished she could tell him that she loved him.But it was too late. She had chosen not to.And maybe she was right to do so.She wished he didn't have to see this. But somewhere inside she was selfishly happy. She was in Viraat's arms. There couldn't have been a better way to die. Death was welcome.
