One moment in time: A random take.

Owing to the lack of real discussion topics on this forum and also as a part of a gesture for a friend- Ashu/ Ayesha_80, I am making this exception... of posting a daily take.. Defo not making it a habit Ashu..😆

Today's epi was a potpourri of eclectic moments in time.. before the wedding rituals take over.. Definitely liked the scene between Viren and Vanshika- the first if I remember, before Swamini came in and one could see the different dynamics.. Vanshika's soft tone of counsel vs Swamini's strong statement of assurance- there was a clear distinguish between the mother and the guardian.. and the object of their adulation assured both in an appropriate tone of reciprocation to both demeanors.

Moving on the scene of 13 gifts between Manvi and Jeevika looked a little rushed.. Although I first thought it would prolong when Manvi asked her for a hug after each gift.. I almost cringed at the thought of 13 hugs.. anticipating cheesy moments.. but must say the presence of these 2 actors is just heartwarming.. each embrace was as endearing as the one before.. a cute scene.. not more or less.. the rudraksh mala bit didn't touch me as much coz Virat's bhabhi ko baba bana rahi ho was playing in my mind.. and cracking me up.. Beeji's dilemma.. was portrayed with an easy conviction by Anju Mahendru.. I am beginning to believe she will get Manu back.. or should.. coz at the end of the day the smile on her own family matters to her.. Dabbu's sad face, Jeevika's worry laden demeanor on her wedding should be reason enough if not the innumerable questions of others regarding her absence.. one would think by doing this she has only brought more attention to Manu on the wedding day than required😆 oh well...

The little JV moment was cutesy.. their little banter.. at least from Viren's end and the subtle progression kinds gives me the feel for the future.. Viren looks fwd to sharing the little moments.. asking about her feeling, sharing his own with her.. In the absence of a real confidante and friend apart from Virat. I feel he looks fwd to having that sense of companionship with Jeevika and it remains to be seen if Js intense attachment with Manvi would be a deterrent or if she would balance it out in the future.. as of now clearly Viren looks more invested..

Finally coming to the real topic in hand.. Manu's fake promise to J as the car moved on.. and she sat in the dark room looking at their album.. I couldn't help think if she hoped for that one moment in time.. in which she was more than she thought she could be ...

If she could reverse what had happened due to her tactlessness in the past.. to live what was her right.. to live all her desires of the day she may have dreamed of since childhood..

or did she contemplate it was better this way.. than to race with destiny..and live each moment in the wedding.. watching the proceedings and witnessing the inevitable just close in..

Irrespective her loneliness was too harsh for that child.. till she found the voice she could always share her burden with.. the kind of burden she couldnt share with Jeevika.. it was Dabbu.. her 3rd sister.. the inane kid.. with a golden heart when it came to his sisters esp Manu.. today's scene reinforced the bonding between Dabbu and Manu.. the one I love so much.. he is her punching bag.. her guinea pig.. but also the pillow she sometimes needs to ramble non-sense to.. esp the private emotions.. in a simple way.. and his innocence just gathers it without her voicing much..

Such moments in time.. just make this show worth.. its not the story like I repeat.. coz there is hardly an impressionable one in place.. its just the presentation.. so for those who are tired of the wedding proceedings.. one piece of mindless advice.. watch it as a Barjatya movie.. and try to appreciate the details (loved the pagdi draping scene for ex) coz the show has been about this wedding from the 1st epi and about the impending separation.. so they will dwell on it.. so might as well enjoy the light moments and shed random tears on the heavy ones... 😆

P.S. The theme of the post is definitely inspired from Whitney Houston's magical song, dedicated to Manvi. ..

Need i say more? 😳 you said it all Sonali.

The rudraksh maala scene didn't touch me either, and true their scene seemed a little too rushed in my opinion. But yep. The main highlight in today episode for me was Jeevika totally restless without her Mannu, and wanting her to be by her side every second & minute, and on the other hand, Mannu crying and feeling helpless, yet sacrificing for her sister's sake. It was beautifully heartbreaking.

Yay! A real discussion topic on this forum. Wish this forum was more like the IPKKND forum since there are always discussions there. Thank-you for starting this topic. For the time being I would like to comment on the last bit about there not being a story. There is a story but it is an old one, a story that has been done many times before but in "progressive" times like these we need such stories to remind us of the good old simple days. How many other shows on Indian television actually have stories anyways, just a couple right? I do agree that it is the way the story has been presented that excels, the brilliant acting, the showcasing of relationships, the nuances; all of them brilliant. Yes this wedding has been stretched but I have said this before, desi weddings are always stretched in real life remember? dholkis, bridal shower, mehndi, wedding, rituals etc. they go on for weeks. I am glad they have kept the essence of the show and the sisters are still at the forefront yet the supporting cast have no been sidelined.

Nice post Sonali. I too liked the daboo-manvi scene today and daboo is the hero of today's episode.
I remeber you from MB forum and loved your daily take on the episodes there and with a IMV like character so much to analyze there. Feel sad that show ended in not a favorable way.
That was the only show I used to watch before and to get to over it started watching EHMMBH . Liked how the confict between the characters is presented in this show and how each is shown right in their pov. The only character that has any layers in this show is swamini and the remaining are easy to predict in their ways so far.

thanks Yamini😆 I do tend to ramble a lot with my coffee mug in hand.. unwinding in the evenings..😆

yup Manu looking thro the album scene and then Dabbu calling her was defo the core scene.. like how simplistic the scenes are.. yet they find a connect..

I see you are already wearing a sig from today's JV scene.. 😆 like I said it was a cute scene.. I was wondering how they hadnt shown a phone convo after the sangeet fiasco.. but I guess Viren got involved in all the chaos and Jeevika is by default invested in her bidai grief.. its nice tho.. how he tries to keep the communication.. even amidst all the crowd.. coz he knows they wld hardly have a minute alone in the wedding.. Jeevika on the other hand is attracted to him.. likes him etc.. but still not as invested.. as in he doesnt come to her mind by default yet.. 😆 its rather real tho.. wld be nice to see how their marriage changes her priorities if they do at all..

you know you are so similar to me 😆 i usually unwind with tea or coffee mugs and love to discuss here on IF with a few selected people. And its always a pleasure to interact with opinionated ladies like you. I don't write a lot here, because of my tight schedules, but yeah i usually photoshop 😆

Daboo-Mannu scene was so realistic, no matter how hard she tried to hide her emotions, she couldn't, coz no matter how naive Daboo is, he knows his sisters really well <3

Moreover, yes i loved the Virika scenes, their little phone convo's are usually adorable. Now i want see how they take up their after-marriage responsibilites and priorities. Its going to be an interesting watch :)

haha.. in fact that was the whole purpose.. to shirk a discussion.. or multiple ones in this forum.. I mean there are quite a few in general but they are segregated wrt relationships.. like some only focus on the sisters, couples etc.. I generally prefer holistic posts.. like daily takes etc.. so any volunteers to keep it going..wld be more than welcome..

well I do tend to agree.. the story is a very simple tale.. you know the real reason I even got attracted to the show was in its simplistic portrayal.. the objectivity it retains in the cloak of sugar sweetness.. it does take inspiration from the barjatya kinda movies like I mentioned.. but in some equations.. it does attempt to do a Hrishikesh mukherjee style.. and am a sucker for tht..

I am also glad that in spite of the theme being intact and sisters being in the forefront.. their impact and ramification wrt to others like beeji, swamini etc have been dealt with so well.. each subplot is given its due importance and space.. makes it well rounded.. dont really care for unidimensional presentation of any kind😆

beautiful take Sonali.

Though it does seem like old wine in new bottle, but the show certainly suckers a punch...u feel for the characters...at least some if not all!!

U pointed out the Dabbu-Maanvi bonding...& i cant help but appreciate that amidst the obvious bonding between the lead sisters. How he must hav hated being fooled by Maanvi so frequently & her digs at him, yet, when needed he stands by that v sister. I love how he loves his food & sisters equally...kinda like me!!😆 & then he can act & dance...i am beginning to hope his character is not sidelined in the long run coz his presence also adds a zing to the epis.

The epi def belonged to Maanvi out & out...though Jeevika did look spectacular & we are getting to see a softer & humane side of Beeji. now i wait to catch a glimpse of the same in Swamini Bua...though it cud be a looong wait!!
