Little difference in Durga & Goenkas

- Goenkas hire spies, goons. Durga also does.

- Goenkas made life of those who supported them by rewarding them with jobs, titles, position etc. Durga too got people jobs/resettled.

- Goenkas destroyed a family (Mitras). Durga too destroyed families (Gangulys, Basus, Goenkas etc). Okay if families destroyed by Durga are not innocent like Mitras but act of destruction is same.

- Goenkas do illegal acts like forgery, bribing, getting people beaten up, spying etc. Durga too did illegal acts like identity theft, forgery, bribing, hiring goons to paralyse a man, spying etc. The only things she didn't do are murder and rape. But that doesn't discount her foray in illegality either.

- Goenkas do drama of friendliness, pretense. Durga and Dayal too did drama only be it friendliness, love or camaraderie. Though their intention was something else.

- Durga regrets what she does. But even Goenkas (except Shaurya) often regret what they do. So what? Both go ahead with what they want to.

- Shaurya records acts and plays them. Sorry but Durga also recorded each scream of Shaurya when he was being beaten up and paralysed by goons. She and Dayal instead broadcasted it to Payal!

Whatever be the cause, good or bad, recording and playing someone else's agony is not right.

- Goenkas cannot take it if someone hurts them. Same for Durga as she not only plotted against all involved in rape and cover up, and even Dev - just because he didn't support her or sent that email. She was blasting at Akash too when she suspected his loyalty.

- Goenkas cannot take loved ones being hurt. And they retaliate. Durga too cannot take loved ones being hurt and she retaliates.

- Goenkas make offers and deals. Durga did same. Even marriage with Dev was a deal.

- All are fighting for personal cause here. No one is fighting for greater cause.

- Goenkas use their own in plan. Durga too used her own in plan including poor Payal who was exposed to Shaurya.

Honestly, we might talk of good or bad side here but fact is that in clear principle of ethics NONE of them is holier than thou or has moral higher ground. Did Durga try to use all resources and influence to reopen case? No.

She instead got into similar trickery and questionable acts. There are too many similarities in acts of Durga and Goenkas. Lines between them are thin and rather blurred.

In end EHT has very wrong message that justice is only for rich and powerful stakeholders, and there is no justice without getting into trickery yourself.

In movies when we have vigilante justice, the hero or heroine does get jail in end. Only some movies like Ghayal and Shahenshah, Shool etc let hero himself be the law and excused even murder of villain in Parliament!

EHT ought to have exposed villains and reopened case using popular support. Or else Durga also should be willing to hand over herself to court for illegal acts she and her allies did. Her case can be forwarded for mercy. But on her and her allies' part it would be honourable to take revenge by exposing culprits in media and court than fight and be smug.

Durga cannot be compared to protagonists of Mardaani and Kahaani because the ladies in those films were conferred power by law to use force. Durga is not authorised like them.

Show must uphold law in end than take matters in own hand. After all, even Veeru was jailed again in Sholay for taking law in hands to fight Gabbar.

For the right message to emerge case has to be reopened and the culprits has to be punished. By the methods Durga uses Payal's honour cannot be restored. That I have maintained in the beginning also. Even if she kills the entire evil trio and dies herself in the eyes of everyone, in the eyes of justice Payal was guilty of framing Shaurya and co. For that to change court has to pass the verdict calling out Shaurya and co to be the culprit.

That is why I am crying what CVs have done with Dev. My expectation from his character was that he will give courage to Nithya to fight against the Goenka's head on in the court, taking care of their evil tricks outside the court. So that she concentrates only on the battle in the court.

Line separating them is very very thin and blurred.

Christine's same coin comment is not off the mark.

The writer has to uphold law in end. Rewind in same courtroom but situation reversed this time.

I am not happy that they gave sanity, confidence to Dev through shares and chairman position. Somehow writers of EHT always brought "paisa" and power in between to boost characters. Not done.

They have to show justice accessible to all and stop harping on material notions of power and prestige.

Durga has not destroyed any families. In fact she has saved them!

The so called "Goenkas" were all set to barter their daughter Kangana in return of power.

But Durga saved Kangana's life from being destroyed by showing her the true face of her so called lover Karan.
The power hungry rajnath Goenka would never do this.

So in fact she saved Kangana's life and respect.

Coming to Ganguly's. Durga has not destroyed this family either.

In fact she saved Ganguly's wife from everyday domestic voilence and torture at the hands of her husband. She saved Sagarika from getting married to a rapist like Shaurya.

She saved all those girls who were sexually exploited by this nonsense person.

By exposing Ganguly, she saved many lives.

And Basu's. Their family is already destroyed by the rapist son and criminal dad. Basu's wife already stays separate. So what can Durga do?

This family is already disconnected.

Coming to jobs/resettling:

What's wrong in helping poor/downtrodden?

She gave a new life to Divya and Madhusudhan. The guy was blind and languishing in a old age home. She gave him eyes and reunited them. She completed their family.

So what if they are settled?

Should people keep suffering all the time? They ought to settle down and I'm glad durga helped them to!

The same goes with Raima's maid and Akram as well.

Akram was about to die. But Durga acted in the nick of time and saved his life.

Nothing wrong in hiring spies!

Durga's plotting against Dev is justified too! He did ditch her and didn't care to return for 2 years.

Infact this plotting helped Dev see the true face of his family.

She went on to correct this mistake by saving Dev twice!

That beating up of Shaurya was not done by Durga. Durga cannot do that. It was an act of ruthless woman and if she had continued in that path there will be nothing to differentiate between her and Sakshi.

Marriage to Shaurya would have made her a completely ruthless woman in destructive mode and someone who will deploy any method to extract her revenge.

Actually in the first 6 months CVs were showing her transformation from Nithya, Durga in Nithya, Nithya in Durga and finally a ruthless woman beating up Shaurya.

With her marriage to Dev CVs have symbolically backtracked her identity from the ruthless woman, to the Nithya residing in Durga, now it has to be Durga residing in Nithya and finally if the story goes as I expect it once she takes care of Shaurya or in other words defeat him and prove his guilt in the court ( I strongly believe Shaurya and co has to be exposed in court to complete the storyline) she has to become Nithya the constructive and nurturing power. Actually 6 months were needed for this backtracking also which they are completing in 3 months.

That's why it is said that Nithya will come in front of Dev on Nithya's b'day.

Goenkas might be bad but they are family who are getting destroyed. And sorry they were not hoing to actually get Kangana married to Karan. We all know that. So this Durga saving Kangana is not true. She did not require to be saved.

Gangulys were family. Atleast daughter had not suffered. But she got beaten up too after Durga's revelation.

Getting a guy beaten so badly that he gets paralysed is wrong. No matter what cause it is done for.

Durga was not helping people in altruism. She has only helped her allies. Goenkas have loaded their allies too. A chawl dweller started living in bungalows (lawyer). Durga had an NGO. Goenkas also have a foundation, school and all which might be run by Suchitra but Rajnath supported her.

Just because there is thin line of "good" or "evil" between the two it doesn't mean similarity can be ignored.

Planting spies and spy cams in others' rooms, offices or fiddling with a guy's office files and computers, framing him in false charges is wrong and not fair or legal.

Not all ways adopted by Durga are legal. Or ethical. So she is no saint or hero.

For her to have higher ground, final battle better uphold law or else message of the show is wrong.

Rajinikanth hires goons and waves knives in Sivaji later. He might have done it for good cause but taking law in hands gives him no upper ground. In end he himself serves jail for his illegal acts. What is wrong, is wrong no matter what cause you do it for.
