MIRROR:

If you notice, EHT frequently shows Sakshi standing in front of the huge mirror in her room. Often she adorns herself as she talks, or is also accompanied by someone else like Raima, Rajnath and Shaurya as she gazes in the mirror. In some scenes Shaurya and Raima have also helped Sakshi adorn herself, by tying clasp of her necklace.

Here are few thoughts that crossed my mind about Sakshi Goenka, her adornments and the mirror.

Basically Sakshi is alone. Time and time again she has nobody else to face except herself. She looks on even more as she talks of plans on phone. As if to reinforce her identity as the Sakshi who no one can mess with, then quickly adorns herself with jewellery as if to mask that ruthlessness with touch of fake class and shimmer.

Others also look on at times with her in same mirror. They are just reflection. The distorted background. None is what she sees them as. They often praise her, pander to her ego or help her adorn herself. That's how mirror is used. To see only what you want to see, to hide imperfections and to put up a fake face you want to show to the world. Sakshi's close ones help her mask. They keep her deluded in some way or the other. And fasten clasps of her material shimmer to keep her real self, away from themselves too.

The guilt, the pride, the self congratulations are all for the mirror where she has no one else to face except herself or the self she constantly tries to "make up" for projection to the world and seeks approval, seeks resolution of her hurt ego. She grapples with identity. And finally will face the mirror again but at that time she will be stripped of adornments and face reality. There will be a time when mirror will no longer give her approval, no longer help her make up. Just scare and madden her with what she sees.

Pearls:

Pearl is formed when there is an opening in oyster. The opening is there for other purpose. But grain enters, acts as irritant and thus pearl forms as a protective adaptation by oyster.

Sakshi is in some ways like the pearl she wears.

She entered Rajnath's life through an opening, a loose but crucial end of his life. And Rajnath had to accept her to protect himself. He had to feed her to protect himself. Hence she rose to be this pearl.

Pearl is formed due to intruder particles. Sakshi is an intruder too in Rajnath's life.

To get pearl you have to go to deep sea. Cut open oyster too in some cases. Similarly to reach this pearl one has to dive deep. And cut open shell if need be. Her shell is her family. Her kids. It is hard to reach Sakshi and harder still to crack the shell.

Pearls are valuable as gems but not indestructible. A diamond can't be destroyed. But pearl can be crushed and even dissolved in acid.

Similarly Sakshi Goenka is vulnerable. For all her shine, she can be dissolved and crushed. She can be scattered if the string that binds her world is broken.

The string is tugged constantly now. Scattered she is getting. Dissolution will be her ultimate end.

GADGETS:

Mostly Sakshi is alone tinkering with her Ipad or talking on mobile. She has talked to phone more than to humans in person.

It shows Sakshi needs total, push button control. She wants everything at fingertips. In an instant.

Her control is only material and distant. She has no control on inner mind of any human. Not even control on her own self.

Her communication with others is distant. Devoid of intimate emotion.

She has nobody to talk to in person. Neither others like talking much to her. Nor she likes talking much to others. She is there, alone with her gadgets that help her keep tabs on people, put her message across and order her work done.

Her existence is mechanical. Once machinery crashes she will lose it all.

GUN:

Sakshi always keeps a loaded gun in her purse.

It was shown in the episode also in which Shaurya's plan to kill Dev was exposed. Sakshi had asked Shaurya to kill her and spare her from forever having to cover up his blunders.

Now she tried to kill Raima with it.

The gun shows her constant sense of insecurity. Her feeling threatened. As well as her need to control and threaten others as a counter attack.

Her gun has silencer.

Sakshi is a silent destructive force. And also can get destroyed with same force as she has expressed death wish once to escape this life.

A loaded gun - show of power, yet reflective of insecurity, equally destructive to self and others.

Sakshi carries destruction close with her as she forever plays with danger.

OMG anu this we stupendous ...I mean fantastic 👏

U Know now tht I read ur post I realized tht I loved these scenes but never had the inclination n time to think tht THIS IS WHAT it signifies ...

So so aptly said ...Sakshi is a loner , her husband, her son n her daughter are really NOT her's ...they all use her for their own selfish reasons but don't love her enough to call her THEIR's

Similarly Sakshi is a flawed individual and she is aware of tht but she wants everything to be PERFECT n dons the fake appearance of mrs. Goenka to hide her real self ..

DONOT know wht else to write ..u have summed It up brilliantly ...

brilliant post Anu..sakshi remains till date the most mystifying character in the show..the symbols are very apt..esp the mirror..she looks for re-assurance from herself..it wudnt be enugh from anyone else..

PIANO :

Control, lure trap and escape.

She plays it as she wants. Again control of sound at her fingertips. She plays. She decides what will be heard. She decides the notes, the composition.

No one knows how she played others, lured them with the music she played.

It is also her release, her catharsis as she turns to it most when she is stressed. And plays...

WOW! what a fantastic analysis, Anu! Absolutely brilliant, your point about Sakshi having nothing but her gadgets and herself to be with was absolutely brilliant.

She has never interacted with anyone except when it is part of whatever game she has decided to play.

Pearls are intruders, but they grow to be beautiful, Sakshi is beautiful on the outside but completely the opposite inside. She evokes admiration, but very rarely any sympathy, not that she even wants it.

She has insulated herself to the point where she needs no one. Her solitary status is one of her own choice, it is her protection, it gives her to strength to kill without impunity or second thought and to further her desire for power and control over people and situations.

Her only weakness, her Achilles heel is her son. That is where the biggest blow to her will come from, That is the chink in her armour. that will allow her enemy to creep in. She knows this and she will go to any lengths to stop it.

This obsessive love for the son while she has very little for her daughter. It makes me wonder if Suarya is really Raj's son, though he believes him to be so.

Good one seriously . Specially the mirror one.

You can also add the piano. I mean music. Music tries to tell you something which words cannot do. Sakshi has too many secrets to handle but her kind of piano playing somehow helps her to tell something which probably she doesn't want anyone else to understand.
