The path that has no looking back- Ayub & writer reply (pg2 and 3)

That is the path of evil. Of deviance.
Once a person is on that path he or she cannot go back.

Many help each other along the way or become accomplices. Veneer of good is maintained for show off while deviant deeds go on in background.

To hide ONE crime of Shaurya, Sakshi and Rajnath have gone on to commit so many more crimes. To hide ONE crime of his, Rajnath has had to make a compromise with Sakshi. For one moment of assuaging their ego this trio goes ahead to kill, maim or rape. Bribing, threatening, forgery etc are just minor offenses for them.

One night of fun has earned Karan a lifetime of fear and subserviance to those with whom he committed the crime and on whom he relied to cover up that crime.

Now no one can move back.

Karan wants to avoid them. His father wants to avoid Goenkas too. But they had to relent and agree to Rajnath's diktat thanks to past crimes committed and covered up together.

Rajnath wants to avoid Sakshi and get rid of her but cannot because of crimes committed in past and later together. One tape gagged him.

Threatening, manipulating, intimidating becomes a way of survival then. As Rajnath is counter blackmailing Minister Basu and was thinking of bumping off Sakshi. Whereas Sakshi shot Raima and is manipulating Rajnath.

Fake connection becames a way of life. Shaurya can't stop manipulating even on wheelchair. He never listened to his mom earlier when she slapped him for rape case and fake degree. But went ahead to assist her plan when he found what she was doing to target Dev.

Partners in crime feed off each other like parasites like the pandit, Ganguly, Mathur, lawyer etc in the show. They enjoyed so called power for years till their lies were exposed.

These are intricate networks of lies and deception that build these invincible power blocs.

They sustain each other nearly forever lest there is in fighting and lies come out in open.

No wonder in real life also corrupt and criminal leaders keep getting elected back to power again.

This is power of the damned. An illusion. These so called powerful people can't even sleep at night. They keep playing others and keep getting played themselves. They cannot back off even when they want to.

They might have a decent end if they hand themselves over to police and court of law. But that decency also leads to jail only. And entails loss of veneer of "status". Or their accomplices get them ruined for exposing them.

EHT has potential to make a powerful comment on status of society and the unholy nexus in upper echelons of power.

Durga, Dev and others who were innocent can highlight how the good are dying or rotting in jails while the evil ones are enjoying in soirees, getting listed in so called power lists.

A monologue of each character's regret can highlight how their desperation, lack of self control and greed made them animals. Before they die, they must speak on passions and illusions they chased and lived all their lives.

Man likes to live in illusions I guess. Hence will do anything to convince himself of having power. Strangely, inducing fear is a better boost for people like Goenka trio than inducing respect and love in others. Others hate this trio and want to dissociate from them. They themselves hate each other and want to dissociate from each other. What power is this?

Yet it looks like power to them as long as their passions and desires get satisfied.

This is evil for you. A self sustaining downward spiral that feeds off humans' ego and illusions. There is no looking back from this.

They say kaash acha waaris hota or cry at the mess. Only to return to crime themselves.

What is needed is for an outsider to come and distract them with another illusion and lead then to their destruction ala Pied Piper of Hamlyn who rid the town of all rats.

This trio and their allies are being led. By Durga in a way. She will have trouble though. It is a given as rats also followed the Pied Piper. Durga has to lead patiently and know when to move away and let the rats fall off the cliff. She has to keep calm and play on her flute, keep walking.

For people like Goenkas, Mathur, Pandit, Karan, Mr Basu, Raima etc there is no backing off from the destructive path they have taken. They will destroy and get destroyed.

"Good" people may suffer. But at least they are not trapped or bound and can choose their paths. They don't have to threaten each other and they don't have to lose sleep at night.

very well said Anu..once one chooses this path, the path chooses where u go..its a never-ending journey..sakshi has been apparently following this path since her childhood, out of desperation..i can give the child the benefit of doubt, for survival, but what she has done as an adult has no justification..same goes for the raj-raima jodi, the great lovers..had no qualms letting go of the great love in front of reputation...and continue to use each other..there is no end to these manipulations..shaurya ke baare mein toh there are no words..the creep disgusts me beyond imagination..

Great analysis Anu .

It is true that once you choose this path there is no going off it.

The hunger for more power and more status and more and more of everything never lets them out of its clutches.

The Goenka's are the prime example of this and I sincerely hope that the CV's have a just and deserving ending to their corrupt and depraved life style.

To see how it will make these Evil Trio pay for all their crimesand how it is dealt with, is the only reason left to watch this show.

Awesome post anu ...well lemme take this opportunity to tell u tht ur THESE posts made me fall in love with analysing this show DIFFERENTLY..if only the show was diff ...

Anywwy ...so very well said n aptly stated ..n EHT truly depicts in the right minds n sense HOW things work for a certain segment of the society ...power money fame n playing up the judiciary are all MEANS in the hands of The few who have the final say in HOW things work

While the Goenkas are calling the shot, the way things have played up have got Dayal akash Durga DEV n even suchitra n Kangna into the claws of the unjust n the mighty ..

Very sad but very true

Absolutey Anu!

Fantastic post!

They have all built castles of sand, all it needs is a wave of honesty to sweep it all away. The good might be powerless now, but sooner or later the collective good will prove too much for the individual evil, for evil people have no one to call their own, they only have accomplices.

Thank you Dolly, Ecri, Japonica, Dipali and Anu.😊
You summed it up Anu - after a point of time this devious path chooses itself! The walker has no choice. 😊

What I find worst are youth like Karan and Shaurya who still do not regret what they did. This twisted path is normal to them!

Mujhe iss bewakoof, chipku ladki ko jhelna padega.
Kya hua? Koi ladki pregnant ho gayi ya kisi ko marwaana hai?

Look how Karan and Shaurya said these things as a matter of fact manner!😲

No shame. At all. No conscience. No end to selfish greed.

On Sakshi, I excuse her childhood but not adulthood. Probably her own life was a revenge against others who wronged her. She never lived like a human. She conpared herself to animals like lions and lived like an animal. I wonder why she never tried to reform or take better path.
I wonder why she shuns love and emotion. Suchitra's loving advances always irk her. Is it because she learnt to be emotionally numb? I am damn curious about the atmosphere she grew up in.

People have choices. Either try to get out of muck. Get rehabilitated. Or keep messing forever.

Lonely, shady streets end up breeding criminals. Unless path of rehabilitation is taken or given. Some study under streetlights. Some rob people or murder under those lights.

Excellent analysis, Anu! 👏
Evil is indeed a maze, a labyrinth! Once they get in there they just continue blindly, led on by greed, power- lust and fear of losing all that!
Its an irreversible corruption of the soul!
Its a lonely hellish existence where they suspect even their shadows and cannot trust their allies. Where they betray each other without a thought and kill without remorse.
When they make that pact with the Devil, they are damned forever.

Lets hope there is true retribution at the end!
Lets hope Durga can lead all the rats to their destruction! This story absolutely needs a moral denouement!
