I have never asked Dev to confront his family at this point of time but he hasn't done anything so noticeable to say he has any guts to do it in the near future.

He has no prooff Shaurya raped Payal. Fair enough! who tried to kill him and why ? Not once but twice. Wasn't he the one who sent his friend to some other place believing his danger could be in danger if he works on this secret hunting. Who does he believes will try to kill him if he investigates the matter ? Payal who is mentally ill or her parents who are dead or Nitya who is missing and reportedly dead.

besides he believes his friend's life could be in danger because he helped him with the rape case but has no idea if Payal could be in danger for the same very reason?

Who tortured Payal ? He too believes it was a case of Vandalism ?

Who sent the fake email ? Who would have been benefitted by the fake email ? where is the confusion here ?

Two families. One of the accused and one of the victim. One must be lying. Where the confusion ? Doubt both the families since each can have their own motive.

A driver's daughter had finally withdrawn the case. He doesn't understand why it happened ? What can be the possibilites ? She was actually lying or she had done it out of pressure? These are only two possibilties. Where is the confusion ? If she had already withdrawn the case, why is Nitya missing ? HE wants to beleive Nitya left Payal to live on her own ?

Why did Payal lose his mental balance ? The medical file says she was deliberately given wrong medication. Who does he believe is responsible for this ?

Sakshi confronts him of hiding the truth about Payal. Did he confront her how come she knows about the farmhouse ? Besides her own would be daughter-in-law is helping Payal. How much difference does it makes if Dev does it too.

Is he looking around for any proof inside his own house ? If Payal is the victim, Shaurya is the accused.

And then there are many more. I have said before that at times I feel he wants to believe Payal was raped but wants to know if there is a possibility if the man wasn't Shaurya.

A good investigator should give equal chances to all possible angles in a case. Since it has two families, he is suppose to look suspiciously on both of them. If he has no proof to confront his family he has no proof trust them either.

Because if he didn't feel drawn to Durga then his love for Nithya was skin deep. He had loved a face that's it. His attraction and closeness and her irritation at her behavior stems from the fact that he knew his Nithya inside out. A plastic surgery cannot hide what a person is actually.
And anybody who had read the book " Promise" can very well relate to Dev pursuing Durga as it very well connect with the madness with which Michael pursue Marie who refuses to work for him. It defies logic, it defies reasoning. Every meeting of theirs ending in confrontation. Michael wears down Marie who is planning to get engaged to her plastic surgeon Peter.
And I am enjoying every bit of Devga confrontation. Each confrontation they are upping the ante. Dev and Nithya needs to fight, they need to argue, shout at each other. They were lovers in the garb of friends in the past. If they are going to be hus-wife in future it is better they understand each other in the new way. For that fight is necessary. Durga felt guilty of having MU over Dev, let Dev also feel guilty once he knows the truth about Durga and why she is doing what she is doing.
Only when Dev walks Nithya's path he will understand her difficulty. By Nithya's path I mean the straight forward path of law which she took where she failed. Dev is walking the same path now. Thinking everyone is good, plays fair. Only when doors are being shut he has started doing small manipulations. When that final door open in front of him he should be in a position to support Durga's way of fighting.

@Samia it is better you read the book. Movie is not that moving compared to the book. Book is a beauty. This appreciation for the romantic novel is coming from a person who doesn't normally read books of romantic genre

dev is the most confusing character of this show. that what I has said many times when dev knows about his family and shaurya being involved in payal rape case then why he is still on their side is the most confusing state of his character 😕

Dev not having proof etc is no excuse.

Didn't he tell Gautam that he knew what Rajnath was like? Why did he never think that Goenkas could have tried to blackmail and intimidate Payal and other Mitras?

He learnt Payal was given wrong medicines. Who did it then? Had it been all consensual then why would Payal end up that way?

Manipulations of Ganguly etc were exposed in front of him. All these people were Goenka associates. Dev still cannot join dots?

Shaurya openly told him once about rapes, assaults he committed. He laughed it off?

If his so called heart knows Nitya is alive and not a gold digger then why his heart is still confused over Payal's innocence in rape case?

Why is he concerned for her? Why visit her? Or reassure her that all will be well?

Goenkas were breathing fire when they learnt he had checked case files. Why their reaction didn't make him suspicious?

Dev got attacked twice after Shaurya threatened him. He still couldn't join dots who could have been after his life?

Proofs have to be found. No one hands them over to you like prasad the way Dev D is expecting to be handed over things on a platter!

Why doesn't Dev ever go after Shaurya's friends? Easier to chase and pin down a girl than be a man and hunt down boys?!

Reacting just once after Nitya was bashed does not mean he can stand up to his family! There are countless more instances when even his mom was insulted but he kept silent.

What did he do that day? Yelled but ultimately backed off and obeyed orders?

Still he has not figured out why Shaurya gets this angry over Nitya.

Why was he concerned that a girl like Durga married a guy like Shaurya if he thinks Shaurya is innocent or not guilty?

His mom told him they would go to US after Shaurya marriage. Why did he buckle in under pressure? He can be easily used like a puppet? Never question why he should leave his house and country?

Nothing is ridiculous except double standards, slowness and contradictory action/inaction of Dev in this show! Just because he is a romantic lead and cries over lockets some have extra soft corner for him and sweep aside his blunders.
