What they purpose of dev in this story - Page 2

Exactly my thought. He came 2 years after the case to find out. if u love sm1 and that person is in trouble be it becoz of ur family u willnot come after 3 friggin' years! he is the most useless and baseless and weak character in the show. he is more focused on understanding durga and her moves thn the case. he even cant keep a secret, letting him meet payal was the biggest mistake of durga.

In my opinion Dev is there for comic relief with his stupidity. Or maybe that one customary bechaara character that dampens plans of both parties (Goenkas and Thakurs). He is also a filler character to drag episodes with irrelevant dreams and past flashbacks.

People who love 'dudh ka dhula' male lead are questioning why we blame this character when he knows nothing about the truth.

What truth is he looking for btw ? The rape case ? The rape case had two parties- The victim and her family and the accused and his family. Either of them are manipulating things and after the Payal's medical report and Nitya's death story or missing story he was suppose to calculate things before doing anything else. But no, he is good and that is enough for everyone here.

Again, his Visa problems restricted him to visit India. It was the exact time when the case was going on. Also, ever since he start re investigating the case, he was almost killed twice. Did he ever tried to understand who tried to kill him ? What exactly is his confusion here ?

People claim DUrga must tell him everything. I ask why ? He is a Goenka too . What if he tell the same truth to his mother ? What if his mother ask him to stay away from the revenge plan ?

People also claim that he knows nothing as of now. Great. He knows Shaurya was an accused and payal was the victim, isn't it ? In htat case, he is suppose to keep his investigation secret to both the parties. He has no reason to trust either of them. I say its fair enough he gives both the Mitras and the Goenkas a fair chance to prove who actually is lying but he isn't doing that. As if he is trying to prove Payal was raped but the man wasn't Shaurya but his lookalike. This way he can keep the cake and eat it too.

No he is not innocent or ignorant. He is only stupid. If he doesn't understand the importance of a high profiel case. If he doesnt understand how difficult it is for a driver's daughter to resist a powerful family like Goenkas, he doesn't deserve to be the part of the whole revnge plan either.

So true. He has enough bits and pieces of facts that should make him realize that things are not what they seem with his family. The doctor's reports were such a giveaway, now what's he waiting for? Where's the action, the smarts to think things through and move. be careful about his moves and not just walk around with the secret hospital file at home as if it were the daily newspaper!
I can't figure him out. He's just too passive and these days all he does is sulk around Durga. He seems a mistfit. Not a match for Durga by any means. Partly it may the actor and his vacant expressions and monotonous dialogue delivery.

But today's episode (4th) was pretty creepy. Not much happened, but Shaurya is such a cold blooded monster. stalking his prey, preparing to close in with ice cold eyes and such an evil heart. What a snake. Shudder...

I have to agree with everyone here, Dev is stupid and gullible. His sole purpose I think is to be Durga's groom when the show ends, that's it. He won't see the truth even it was written on the wall.
