There has to be someone more powerful indeed, but so far in the story where have they been? Most people in positions of influence would not care as it doesnt affect their business. As someone else pointed out, Raj could even make sure his nephew was stalled in America indefinitely. So there you go.
But anyone that powerful would have had to make enemies as well. Like Akash who worked for them, like Rayma who will be on the outs when her affair is known, parents of the girls Shaurya has mistreated or played with in the past. It isn't just the individual power of these people, but their collective might. Durga is using the divide and conquer strategy, and it is working so far. Even inside Shaurya's family, the more mistakes he is making the harder it will be for his parents to cover them up. He will become the laughing stock of that town because he is constantly in the news for all the wrong reasons. 😳
