Dev- My first impressions

I am loving the genre as it is the first time I am seeing something different from saas bahu on TV and it belongs to my favourite genre edge of the seat thriller with enough suspense, drama, romance( well romance not in yet, dont know if it is there, but yaa heartbreak in form of a lost friendship has happened)

So this post is about Dev as I believe he is going to be the hero of the show. His entry has been full bollywood style what with the camera first focusing on his eyes, then the sides of the face etc etc.. Leaving apart all those fundas what I felt the character that he is in the few epi I am trying to put in the post.

Impulsive- Dev reacts very fast and that too with brute force for anything he doesnt like. Whether it is beating up the thief or the dealer or in flasback beating up guys for commenting on Nithya he cant stand injustice. Just like Nithya he is also a fighter doesnt matter if he gets injured himself. Difference being Nithya seems to be mature, whereas Dev's reactions are little bit immature though right.

Naive- There is an innocence about him. I mean he thinks he can correct people by being nice to them. Whether giving chance to a thief or believing his uncle/aunt on whatever happened that stopped him in US. We are yet to see that. But I feel it is the same belief that everything is fine that would have calmed him down. Just like giving a second chance to that thief he lose the precious locket( the presence of which in his neck would have definetely reduced the misunderstanding Durga had about him) he gave a second chance to someone 2 years back which resulted in his losing his friend's faith.

Confrontation: This guy cant keep anything in his mind. Comes out as outspoken and frank. Whether it is confronting shaurya or telling Durga point blank I have met you he doesnt hide his intentions. But confrontation doesnt work everywhere especially with a fox like Sakshi Goenka the truth Nithya learned bitterly. Tact needs to be deployed. Need to see how far he will go to be tactful

Comitted: He will go any extent for his loved ones. Whatever that happened 2 years back is yet to come out in open. There is a genuine feeling of pain and loss in him. He had very much valued his friendship with Nitya. And he is determined to go any length to give her justice even that means a risk to his own life.

This is just first impressions maybe we will get more peek into his character as the story unravels.

One thing is sure Durga's intensity is in pefect sync with Dev

agree .Durga/Nitya and Dev..strong and vulnerable in their own way.

His mother actually gave Rajnath the chance to stop Dev and his blind faith on his mother is the major reason he is in this situation now. I guess Dev is US born as in the intro epi it was told that he did his schooling in US.

I liked the dialogue I have an ache in me. I came to remove that ache.

I also agree with the rest of your points about Dev.

Dev is a genuine and honest guy. He does not hide anything. Whereas Shaurya is shown as a conniving person. I believe this could be intentional on the creator's part; to show two opposite characters.
