Dr.Khan comes out and asks Shravan to sign a form. Mr.Malhotra we shall try our level best to save both the lives, but since you know her medical condition I cannot guarantee anything. Please pray for the best.
Although Shravan knows this, he was hoping that may be a miracle would happen and his Sumo would not have any complications. But that was not to be. He is flabbergasted.
Final Part
Flashback
It was wee hours of the morning. Both Shravan and Sumo are laying contented in each other's arm after Shravan ravished her for the 3rd time that night.
Sh: Sumo I am sorry. Did I hurt you? What to do... when I see you next to me sleeping peacefully I need to reassert to myself that you are really mine...all my waiting has yielded results. That is why I was unable to control myself...sorry yaar if I have hurt you.
Sumo putting her hand on his mouth. No Shravan you did not hurt me. Don't worry and one more thing let me reassure you that I was always yours and will remain so forever. Don't say sorry again, okay.
Sh: Accha Sumo ek baath karni thi.
Su: Haan bolo na...
Sh: Mujhe ek choti Sumo chahiye...
Su: Why ek chota Shravan nahi chahiye kya?
Sh: Wow Sumo, I thought you will blush and become shy. But that is for others, not for my Sumo right?
Su: Shravan isme kya sharmana hai? Mujhe bhi kids chahiye to complete our family. And why should I feel shy with you? You are my best friend first and foremost with whom I can be myself...no pretences required.
Sh: Of course Sumo, that is the best part of our relationship. Both of us can be true to ourselves and to each other. Best friends turned lovers turned spouses.

Shravan is waiting outside the OT reminiscing the above.
After 3 hours Dr.Khan comes out of the OT and wants to meet Shravan in private. Pushkar also goes along with Shravan to meet the doctor.
Dr: Mr.Malhotra you have a beautiful girl baby. She is fine.
Sh: How is Sumo doctor? Is she okay?
Dr: I am sorry Mr.Malhotra your wife has slipped into a coma. The delivery has taken a toll on her and we were not able to keep her consciousness. We cannot say when she will come out of the coma...it may take a few days, weeks, months or even a few years. We can keep treating her and monitoring her. I am sorry but this is the best we can do. The nurse will bring your daughter to you. You can go and see your wife now. She is in ICU now but we will shift her to a special room tomorrow where we can monitor her. Be strong Mr. Malhotra.
Shravan is devastated. Pushkar manages to bring him out and seat him. A nurse brings his daughter and gives her to him.
Shravan cries on seeing his daughter. The entire family is in the hospital. He goes and gives his daughter to his mother and says Maa, please take care of your grand daughter Ahaana.
He goes to the ICU. He sees Sumo and starts crying. Pushkar comes there.
Pu: Bhaiya...
Sh: Pushkar why does this happen to me? Look at her. I cannot live without her. I told her that I cannot afford to take this risk. But she did not listen to me. I am nobody without my Sumo...
Pu: Bhaiya be strong. Nothing will happen to our Sumo. She will come back from this coma doubly strong. Don't worry. All our prayers are with her.
It's been six months since baby Ahaana was born, six months since Sumo slipped into coma. Shravan was at her bedside always. After about 15 days, Pushkar manages to convince Shravan to take up some cases which only he can handle. Although Shravan was not willing he also realizes that there is no point in sitting with her throughout the day.
Shravan gets the best of doctors and treatment for Sumo. He gets Dr.Dayal who is one of the best doctors in India to come and check Sumo. Dr.Dayal tells Shravan that all the vital organs of Sumo are in a perfect condition and it will be only a matter of time before she gets up.
Dr.Dayal: Mr.Malhotra although I cannot confirm when your wife will wake up from coma, I can suggest you to do the following which might help her to recover soon. Whenever anybody visits her ask them to announce themselves. Sit by her bedside holding her hands and stroking her skin which will give her a lot of comfort. Talk to her as you normally would... about your day at work, about things happening at home etc. Play her favourite music softly in the room. Spray her favourite perfume, bring her favourite flowers etc.
Shravan makes it a point to spend one hour with Sumo before he goes to office and again spend an hour with her in the night talking to her about his day at work, their daughter Ahaana and PCT. He knows that she loves listening to soft melodious music and he plays it for her. He manages to get her favourite tulips in her room.
The Malhotras and Tiwaris take turns to visit Sumo atleast once a day and talk to her about everyday events.
It has been 10 months now. Baby Ahaana has taken her first step walking. Nirmala and Kamini are busy talking about something while supervising Ahaana. Suddenly she gets up and runs towards Nirmala smiling. Nirmala is in tears seeing her walking. Kamini calls her Ahaana come to choti dadi. And she runs from Nirmala to Kamini. Everybody is overjoyed. Lalaji smartly captures this video on his phone. And he sends it to Shravan, Pushkar and Ramnath. Shravan is ecstatic. He rushes to the hospital and shows the video to Sumo.
Sh: Sumo dekho hamari beti aaj pehli kadam liya hai. look at this video. Sumo wapas aa jao na please. Hame tumhari zaroorat hai. Please ab aur nahi... come back to us, please. He comes out of the room and cries.
One day Shravan is narrating the day's incidents to Sumo.
Sh: Sumo pata hai hamara beti bahut ziddi hai bilkul tumhari tharah. If she decides it is a no, it is a no. this morning maa was trying to feed her breakfast but she was adamant and refused to eat. So I had to pacify her saying that I will take her on a ride if she finishes her breakfast. Do you remember how you used to pacify me with
Su: with a bribe of sev ki sabji if you were angry.
Shravan realizes that it was Sumo who completed his sentence. His joy knew no bounds. He pulls her up and crushes her into a tight hug. He kisses her frantically on her forehead, eyes, cheeks, nose and her lips.
Sh: Sumo, you are back. OMG you are back!!. I knew you will not leave me and go. Thank you God for giving me my Sumo back.
He rushes out and calls the doctor and nurses. The doctor rushes in and checks Sumo for all her vitals. They are in perfect condition and he proclaims her fit for discharge.
Shravan is about to call Nirmala when Sumo stops him.
Su: Shravan don't tell anybody at home. I want to go and surprise them. Will you take me?
Sh smiling: Anything for you darling. I can see that my Sumo is back...
He does the discharge formalities and takes Sumo home. She slowly gets out of the car and starts walking slowly by holding on to his arm. He is holding her at the waist and helps her walk in. They reach the entrance.
Sumo starts crying when she sees the scene in the living room.
She sees Ahaana sitting on Ramnath's lap and playing with his hair. Nirmala, Lalaji and Kamini are all sitting together while enjoying this scene. She sees a pregnant Vandy (six months) and Preeti ( 8 months) being helped by their respective husbands to take them to the dining table. Kamalji comes and says that dinner is served.
Su: Can I also join for dinner?
On hearing this voice everybody turns towards the door and is shocked to see Sumo standing there with Shravan holding her waist.
Everybody is so happy. Nirmala welcomes her with an aarti. She comes inside. Ramnath comes and gives Ahaana to Sumo. Sumo holds her close to her chest and sheds happy tears. She looks at Shravan and tells him Thank you Shravan..Thank you for everything...
Shravan smiling: No thanks and no sorry between best friends right?
