Another OS from me. I know from what I read here that the story may be taking a leap, but not in this story. Fair warning, may not be what you expect 😃 .

Sumo was the first to wake up. The morning light passing through the glass in the wind chimes produced a rainbow. She had never seen that before, well, she had never stayed in bed that long before in their room.
She had to show him that, she thought realizing that his hand was over her stomach, he held her firmly, not too tight that it would hurt but not loose enough that she could move away.
She had probably curled up at night and he had curled up around her. He was taller, and his head and legs stuck out on both ends. She felt she was in a cocoon, a loving cocoon and for the first time since she had been 6, Sumo felt safe.
So many things had happened the previous evening; everything was out in the open. He was hurt but he was relieved, they had spoken at last, the chasm was bridged, both had apologized, there were smiles in the tears. At the end it when they went to bed, both of them were emotionally drained, a happy drained and all they had done was to cuddle and sleep. They had been married for 5 days now and how challenging each day had been. It dawned on Sumo that it was his birthday today and everyone had forgotten it in yesterday's hullabaloo, including herself.
Sumo suddenly felt his lips kiss her hair. Of course, he knew she was awake. She blushed as she thought that he had probably been watching her all this while.
"Sumo" he said
"Hmmm"
"Kya soch rahi ho ?"
She tried to turn to face him, but he didn't loosen his grip. Instead she intertwined her fingers with his.
"Shravan, Happy birthday"
"Tumhe yaad hai Sumo ?" he baited her and pulled her closer, not that she had thought that was possible, she had to admit though that it was cozy.
"Hmmm " she refused to take the bait
"Bas wish hi karogi ya gift dene ki aadat bhi hai ?"
"Is saal kuch nahi liya Shravan maine, pata nahi kya hogaya that mujhe" she said dejected
"Is saal ?" he stressed, "Aisai bol rahi ho jaise har saal mere birthday pe wish kiya tha"
"Wish to kiya tha, tumhe sunaye nahi diya?"
"Jhooti"
That made her fight, exactly what he wanted.
"Agar main prove kar doon to tum mujhe kya doge ?"
"Chalo lagi sharth, return gift milega tumhe"
Sumo got up immediately and walked towards the closet. There was a mischievous smile on her face. How much he had longed to see that all these years. He smiled contently seeing her like that. She was full of surprises even now. His very own Rubik cube.
She came back and sat next to him, a box in her hand. He knew that it was the one where she kept her mother's jewelry. She opened it and pulled out greeting cards.
"Yeh lo" she said
There was a card for each of his birthdays, 10 envelopes. He opened the first one and a photo of Sumo fell out of the card, along with a friendship band. 10 cards, 10 friendship bands and 10 photos of Sumo, one for each year. Each signed with a "Miss you, tumhari Sumo".
He had missed her growing up. How his moti Sumo had transformed into what she was, how he had dreamed about her. He picked each card and photo and absorbed it all, still struggling to come to terms with the enormity of it.
"Sumo" he said, his voice choking, eyes moistened
"Shhh " she said, ruffling his hair, when had her Shravan grown up ?
She had missed that but assured herself that would grow old together.
"Ab baat ko mat taalna, return gift kahan hai ?" she asked
He got up now, opened his closet and from under the pile of his neatly arranged clothes pulled out an envelope. She didn't wait for him but grabbed it and opened it. A similar set of cards, one for each birthday of hers and when she opened one dried tulip fell out. She felt each flower; her fingers traced his writing on the cards.
"Shravan, hum dono itne door kaise chale gaye" she said tears rolling down, there was no stopping them
"Copy cat" he said attempting to lighten the mood.
She picked up a pillow and threw at him. He followed suit. They ran around fighting like the 16 year olds they really were until Sumo stopped.
"Kya hua Sumo ?" he asked, worried if she had hurt her legs while running.
"Woh"
"Woh kya ?"
"Tumhe washroom use karni hai ?"
"Kyon ?"
"Nahi, mujhe use karni thi, socha tumse pooch loon, tumhe first use karni ho to"
"Sumo" he said throwing the pillow at her again "Itni tameez tumhe suit nahi karti"
