I think he's hiding his age as he too thinks he's a bit old for a debut show.

Even if you hide, age is one such thing which can be guessed approximately by our physical appearance. When he was in the same shot with Ronit my whole family felt that Ronit was like a kid beside Namik despite both having almost same type of bodies and I much later found out that Ronit is born in 93.
