I am not going to discuss about ego fight of two irrational inviduals?
One simple question, when Shravan behaves coordial with Tiwari whatever extend he is angry why can't Suman give the same respect to Malhotra's

Agreed...Shravan can be the biggest butt!! However! He always yells at Suman in private! He takes everything quietly in front of everyone, that's form of respect too...

Very True. Shravan behaves very respectfully with Tiwaris. And, Suman should do the same with Malhotras.
Suman is an independent girl - No doubt she has worked hard & supported her family through thick & thin. But, she also comes from a Family Oriented Environment where Family Values & Ethics all play an important role.

Coming back to the present scenario -
She is a newly married Bahu, and she should not be that arrogant. It is looking very rude on her part.

Maybe Shravan had provoked her, but still she could have held it in front of everybody without openly thrashing him in front of his family. She shouldn't thrash her husband in front of in-laws & his family. She had degraded her standards by doing this. She could have talked openly with Shravan when they were alone - That would have sorted Misunderstandings.

Maybe Shravan is upset too, but she should also understand him.

It is not proper etiquette on Suman's part to point Shravan in front of his family by stating whatever he has earned comes from his dad. And, that she is earning 60,000 or 70,000 openly in front of his family.

She has to hold onto her relationships & should not break them. :)

Very true. Whatever happens between Husband & Wife should stay between them & they should come to an understanding together. :)

Always having been a silent reader due to the passionate feminist i am, I have to respectfully disagree. I think what she said to chachi and lala ji was done in a respectful way. She explained her reasons and made a request.

As for what she said to shravan, i truly think her reaction was justified after the insult he kept on throwing at her. In one moment her destroyed her identity making it nothing more than than his property over which he should have compete control. Him offering to pay her to me indicated him stating that he owns her, (she is nothing more than mrs shravan malhotra, but where is her name in all of this?)
In my opinion she replied aptly to his demeaning insults.
Remember, we know where his hatred comes from, but she still does not know the entire story which makes it easier to see shravans point of view.

And I don't think the rules should be different for a beta and a bahu, he insulted her I front of everyone so she has the right to defend her self respect in front of everyone, and it was he who asked her turnover in front of everyone, she simply replied

As a strong feminist I value equality between genders, and what sumo did was out of the self respect she has earned for herself from hard work and dedication.

I am just stating my opinion and I honestly don't mean to offend anyone, nor am I trying to bash any character.

I am total female chauvinist, I am just saying she should have agreed to Kamini's get together

Family comes first its Suman words

Whether she would have did the same if Mamiji or Nanaji asked?

She started, Shravan lost it and she behaved irrationally

He stoop low so I can doesn't feel right

She is what she is, she sabotaged herself and proved Ramanath is right about her

If she agreed may be Shravan would have seen her new light

Suman used to work, cook, and take care of Nanu at Tiwaris. Though Mamiji hurts her many times, still she never complained. What happened to that angle of Sumo?
Is not her husband's home her home? Why is she behaving so weirdly & rudely?

Even if Shravan had instigated her at table, she could have kept quiet. She knows Shravan's mentality since childhood. Shravan might be egoistic at times & Suman knows about his anger issues. Still, she could have explained to Shravan in a very polite manner as to what bothered her.Just a simple sorry would have made all the difference from her side. This could have solved all the Misunderstandings. :)

Most of the Female CEOs like Indra Nooyi , Chanda Kochhar, Kiran Majumdar Shaw etc hold great importance towards their families. They might be CEOs of one of the largest companies, but at home they are completely family-oriented. Family is their number one priority.
Suman should learn from them as they are really good role-models :)
