OK , so there's been a lot of rumors going on about the show going off air and all blame games etc. Putting that aside, I had a general thought about Sumo. By now, I have seen a lot of people praising the character of 'Shravan' played by Namik and they are absolutely right. I myself am a big fan of the way he delivers realistic performances each and every day. Coming to Suman (Sumo) Tiwari, I generally feel that the term 'Sumo' indirectly disappeared from the show at around episode 70-75. Honestly, anyone who has watched all the episodes can notice how lively they showed her character during the first 50 episodes. She was angry, mischievous, humorous all at the same time. But I don't know why after that accident thing or Nirmala misunderstanding, that character had died. She was hardly given dialogues to speak. As far as I can remember, she wasn't even given any scene where she smiled or laughed. I just feel she would have been equally loved by fans if the Cv's had continued with the same Sumo we saw during the first 50 episodes of the show.

That's just because Sumo in Suman was something because of Shravan. You can see that even today, she shows her sumoness only infront of him. She is herself infront of him because she feels she owns him and has a right on him as he was always there for her not physically but their friendship had deeper roots(like we are with are parents). After 70-75 episodes, Shraman relationship was not in a good phase at all (if you have noticed, she has shown her Sumoness to him even after 75th episode)
She feels in depth to her family and thus shows her Suman phase to everyone including her nanu.
Look at her from the POV of an orphan, you will get all your answers.

Just my take on Sumo.

Good points...also I gotta say, and it's just my opinion, I don't mean to offend anyone but I really didn't feel empathetic with Nikita used to cry..like with Shravan, your heart goes out to him and I did feel bad for Suman in certain parts...but that emotional connect was more with Namik's acting than Nikita's for me. Not saying that she's a bad actress or anything...just that her expressions could have been better.

Because we saw Shravan's love for Sumo to be more impactful, intense and constant. Also younger Shravan was such an adorable person that we could connect with Shravan more than Sumo.
Namik's acting is just another level of perfection
Yes, we din't connect to sumo more as she started using her self-respect as a shield to protect herself in latter episodes even after hurting her best friend so much. Even I don't like Sumo when she cries.
The problem is that both Shravan and Sumo don't introspect and keep on hurting each other

Yes, it's true the character of Sumo was very much attached to Shravan. And as you said, Shravan's heartbreak moments are more touching to watch. At the same time, Sumo's lively moments are a treat to watch. Not to forget, even during the initial episodes, Shravan was not on good terms with Sumo (Before the Khosla track). In spite of that, we got to see much of Sumo which was lacking after Nirmala track. On the whole, Shravan is at his best when he is heartbroken and Sumo's at her best when she is in a joyful mood. Since the story took a serious turn and we didn't get to see the friendship moments between Shraman, it's unfortunate that we didn't get to see much of 'Sumo' .
