MY WIFE MY LIFE6 months passed , but the memory of that day was still fresh in my mind. I had dragged her to court from PCT and we got married crushing all her dreams. How I wish I could reverse the clock. I taunted her, left no stone unturned to break her. But she wasnt some crybaby. She was Sumo, My Sumo, Mrs. Suman Shravan Malhotra. She dared to show me the mirror when I was wrong. She stood by my side when my own shadow refused to stay. She trusted me when I lost faith in me. Dont know how and when she managed to break the walls I had built. Each day she gave me a new reason to love her more.
She was back home after a long tiring day. Closing the door she headed towards the kitchen. The house was unsually quiet
"Bhaiya ji where is every one today?" She asked the servant
"Madam everyone went to Chandigarh to attend Kamini madam's niece wedding." he replied
"And Shravan ?" She asked filling her glass with water.
"Sir is not yet back" He answered
She nodded.
She turned to leave but something flashy caught her eyes. A note was stuck on the refrigerator's door
She picked up to read
" Check the calendar what is the date?
Lets play a game , are you ready my mate?""Okay My dear hubby wanna play scavenger hunt? I'm in." She smiled
It was 9th march today. Means tomorrow is her birthday. That means he has planned something special for her , she smiled widely.
She entered her room , she found another note stuck on the mirror and a photograph placed on the table. Her excitement increased she picked up the note , it read
" Look around you may hit the wall
Believe me my love I will never let you fall" The photograph was clicked in an amusement park. She was hell scared of the ferris wheel. He took her hands in his and assured her ,"I will never let you fall"She looked up , she may have bumped into the wall had he not warned her.
"How thoughtful of you dear hubby?" She grinned . She was already loving this game.
She picked another note on the window sill
It read
" Look at the moon, do you remember?
The day you secured a place in my heart's chamber!"They were looking at each other , a smile played on their lips. The moon was there to witness the reunion of two longlost friends. The photograph was clicked in preeti bhoj ."Ofcourse my dear hubby I do remember. You want me to come to the terrace. I'm so smart." She smiled and patted herself
This whole thing was crazy but she loved it!!
She found another note on the bed and ofcourse a photograph
It read
" As you pick the note , dont scream
How can I ever break your dream?"She had to submit her project the next day and her ship was broken. How much time she invested to make that stupid ship? And all went down the drain. He promised her he would fix it . He promised her "I will never let your dreams break." They clicked a picture after he fixed her ship There was an envelope . She opened it and
was dumbfounded. There were two tickets to hawaii. She had dreamt of visiting that place atleast once in her lifetime after she pay off her debts. Her husband never failed to amaze her . She wanted to shout on the top of her voice that her husband was the best and how much she loved him.
She was confused what to wear. She opened her wardrobe and found another note.
It read
"You are the most beautiful thing in my life
Come soon, end my wait my lovely wife"The picture was taken , the day she was sad because of an ugly pimple. She was worried now no one in school will talk to her because she looked ugly. He cupped her face and said
"Now matter what , You will always be the most beautiful one for me." How lucky she was to have him, she thought
She opened the gift wrap. It was a beautiful light blue chiffon saree with silver embroidery and silver blouse. She loved it.
She applied minimal makeup and let her hair loose. He loved to play with her hair , she smiled. Satisfied with her look she headed to the terrace.
I was mesmerised by her look. She looked stunningly gorgeous. The saree perfectly accentuated her curves making her look more desirable. She smiled when our eyes met. I took her hand in mine
" You found me wifey." I grinned
"I will always find you dear hubby" she replied grinning.
Snowhite and prince charming were her favorite fairytale characters. I had watched, no was forced to watch that show a million times. And have learnt all the dialogues by heart.
Things you do for love !!! Sigh!!
The terrace was decorated with lamps and candles. I could tell she was overwhelmed.
"Shravan , All this?" She said as a lone tear escaped from her eye
"For you my love"
She ran straight in my arms and hugged me . Staying in my embrace she mouthed a thank you.
As the clock striked 12:00 am.
Fire crackers lit the sky. She was so enthralled by the sight that she forgot to blink. I hugged her from back and whispered
"Happy birthday wifey!!!!!"
She turned to face me and I placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Lets cut the cake "I said.
Did I tell you I baked it myself?? Yeah it took me hours to bake it.
Not only that I have cooked all her favorite dishes . We fed each other piece of cake. I even smeared some on her cute button nose. She pouted. How cute she looked with that pout . I had to click one picture.
"You cooked all these??" she said surprise written on her face
" Yeah "I replied proudly.
Her eyes became moist.
Girls and tears!!!!
They cry when they are sad, they cry when happy, they cry when angry. Hell is there anytime they dont cry? I wonder
She tiptoed and pecked my lips. But I didnt let her go. I deepened the kiss. She tasted like chocolate.
"Its my best birthday .Thank you" she said between the kiss. "Hmm" is the only I could say. We broke apart when we were breathless.
After we had dinner I asked her for a dance. She gladly obliged. I placed my hand around her petite frame . We swayed as the music played .

Baby, I'd go anywhere for you" You have given me more than I could ask for . Thank you for everything ." She said placing a kiss on my knuckles.
" Now its time for your return gift. " She said smiling .
I looked at her confused .
She took my hand and placed it on her stomach.
It took few minutes before my brain could register the information.
"Oh my god!!!! Is it true?? Am I...you...you are pregnant??" I exclaimed with joy.
She nodded blushing furiously .
Now it was my turn to cry. Tears of happiness stream down my face.
I placed a kiss on her forehead and one on her flat stomach where our love was growing.
"This is the best return gift of my life. Today you made me the happiest man alive . " I said .
She giggled as I twirled her round .
" Easy easy shravan .. you are making me dizzy " she said and I realised my folly.
I carefully placed her on the ground .
"How long?" I asked still giddy with happiness
" 2 weeks " she replied smiling
"Only 2 weeks !!!That means I have wait for 37 weeks to see our little one" I said making a sad face
"Shravan you are such a baby. " She chuckled and ruffled my hair .
"Ughhh not my hair. Do you know how long it takes to set them.? I whined
"You are shooo cute , I wanna pull your cheeks " she cooed in a baby voice and I scowled
" How am I going to handle two babies ?" She wondered looking at him
"Penny for your thoughts?" I asked grinning
Ever since she told me I was going to be a father that grin wont leave my face
" Umm I was thinking has romeo possessed you? How come my shy hubby became so romantic today?" She teased me.
" I am no romeo and you are no juliet. Our love will create a new history ...
