A crazy crazy OS!!
This is for my Three Jaan-e-mans here,
Baitu aka Zoya, Priyam and my Darling Ramya di!
Cheers to Friendship!
#DostiReturns
Setting : This OS begins from the very first episodes, where Shravan returns from London. He's a little less angry with Suman but they'd fought a bit before he left.
I always wanted a light hearted union for these two, until the CVs decided to keep it intense! So enjoy the quirkiness here!
YOU CAN COUNT ON ME
17th of August!
It was finally here!
Suman cancelled the date with utmost happiness. Her joy knew no bounds - her childhood's bum chum and her yaar was returning from London, after what seemed eternity.
Her eyes reviewed the Calender : She had been striking off days one by one, patiently, for a month. And now when the day had dawned, her nerves were all swelled up and she felt she couldn't wait for the evening. A few hours to the reunion. Damn! This was more exciting than she'd thought!
She sang aloud, without a concern :
Jiska Mujhe, Tha Intezaar
Jiske Liye Dil, Tha Bekaraar
Woh Ghadi Aa Gayi Aa Gayi!
She picked up her bag and left for PCT. Shit! How will the day go ahead?
She checked the clock - it was 10. That meant a whole 8 hours, minimum!
She opened her accounts book. All dues were paid, all cheques were collected! Why did she seem so jobless all of a sudden?
"Preeta!", she called out. "Aaj Suji Ka Halwa banega!", she beamed. "Aree wah! Kya baat hain Sumo!"
"Haan, baat toh hain!", she blushed. Preeta giggled.
"Oyye! Ab natak mat kar! Chal! Kadhai chadha gas par!"
The clocked ticked slowly and slowly. Suman checked his pic for the third time now. "Ughh! He's so handsome and tall. My Shravan!", she couldn't stop drooling!
"Agar ise koi aur mil gayi hogi toh?", her vivid imagination was working a 200%.
"Aree wah Champu! Aaj badha taiyyar ho raha hain!", she teased as he adjusted his tie.
"Kyun?", he smirked.
"Tujhe koi mil vil toh nahi gayi naa?", she asked suspiciously
"Haan! Date par jaa raha hoon", he added on.
"Rehne de rehne de. Ek hi minute mein dande maarkar out kardegi. Kaun hain vaise?"
"Miss. Anjali!"
"Kya?! Matlab apni English Teacher?"
"Buddhu! Aaj Annual Day Practice hain! Dress rehearsal woh bhi! Jhalli kahin ki"
"Haan Haan jaa jaa. Tujhe mere Siva koi aur nahi jhel sakta. Jhalli ka jhalla!", she giggled.
She drifted back into the Present. "Ohh yes! Its 4", she danced.
She lifted up her bag and literally rushed home. She wore the dress and earrings. After checking herself a zillionth time, it was time to leave!
The entire Tiwari Family was invited.
They left for the Malhotras. "Sumo, relax. Just a few more minutes", she took deep breaths.
The entered the party. Her eyes, like a scanner scanned every face. But somehow, she couldn't spot that 6"4' tall hunk.
She ticked her purse button. Nervousness was getting the better of her. "Sumo, you're not dying to see him! Just be a little less excited", she resolved.
And then, magic happened! He descended from the staircase of his Room! Suman's eyes pooped out. "Hoot toot!", she whistled mentally.
She unconsciously walked towards him.
"Sh... Shravan", she said softly. Her stomach was full of fluttering butterflies!
"Umm... Suman?", he acknowledged.
Sumo wanted to just dance around. She wanted to say so much! Hug him out of happiness, ask him his life there! Gosh!
"How are you? All fine?", she became so formal. "What the hell are you doing?!", she mentally slapped herself.
"Yeah! London was good!"
"Great!", she smiled.
Shravan didn't want to leave, infact he was equally excited to meet her. Throughout the flight, all he could think was of her. How she would be?
But ironically, neither of them could express it. The excitement and happiness all lay buried inside.
"Bhaiyya! Papa is calling you", Pushkar dragged him away.
"Drat!", he thought. "Please excuse me". Sumo smiled back.
No! No! No!
This wasn't that they'd thought! They wanted to pull each other's legs, create ruckus and fuss around!
They were best friends!
Ramnath introduced him to a few guests. But the corner of his eye was fixed in her. She was hiding it too. He was happy. He knew her inside out.
It was dinner time. Suman went to the food counters.
She casually picked up a Samosa. She opened her mouth wide to take a bite but when she looked ahead, he was standing there, right in front!
She immediately closed her mouth. The Samosa fell down.
Gravity seemed extra strong today.
She picked it up in a reflex. But why did she do that? So she threw it away!
Shravan chuckled. He knew she'd lost it!
Sumo just left the place in disgust. "Girl, you need a break"
And before he could stop her, she left.
She went straight to Tiwari Killa and went to bed. This was bad!
Next Day
She had just learnt to drive. It had been precisely two days after she got her licence. She had proudly scrapped off the L sign, though Mamaji had insisted to let it be.
She inserted the car key and drove off. In the way, she saw him. Standing near the pavement. He kicked his wheel. Tyre puncture!
She stopped. "Shravan, you need a lift?", she offered.
"Yes, thank you", he got in. "Where were you going?"
"To Gandhi Chowk"
"Ok! I'll drop you there"
"Hmm"
The ride was so silent and it was itching her.
Suddenly, out of no where, a car came in front of her. Her senses didn't react properly and she lost control of the wheel.
"Whoa whoa!", Shravan steered the car off the road as it hit the pavement.
"Marvaogi kya?!", he shouted. "Sumo!"
"Oye! Mistake uss gaadi ki thi"
"Dekho, mujhe Marne ka koi shauk nahi!"
"Haha! As if main Marne ke liye gaadi chalati hoon". Shravan smirked on her humourless joke.
"Abhi take tumhaare jokes ki tabiyat kharaab hai!", he said after a long pause. "Kab Liya licence?"
"Teen din pehle"
"Kya?! Matlab mujhe maarne ka fool proof plan tha"
Silence.
And they bursted out laughing! The ice broke and so did the emotions.
"Shravan! Youre back!", she hugged him.
"I missed you Sumo! Missed you very much!"
"Kal kaisa behave kar rahe the?"
"Aur tum? 'How are you?' Seriously?!"
"Aur tum? Mujhe mera Samosa bhi nahi khaane diya!"
"Abhi bhi vaisi hi ho! Bhukkad!"
"Good habits die hard!"
"Aur mujhe yeh galat fehmi hone lagi thi ki Sumo sudhar gayi!"
"How was London?"
"Bohot accha!"
"Thank God tumne steering ghuma diya..."
"Ahem! You can count on me to live!"
...
"Bhaiiya, ab bol bhi do!", nudged Pushkar. He always knew he loved her and these Ten Years had taught the same thing to her.
He grabbed her hand and went down.
"Sumo! You're my best friend and my best pal. Will you be my best life partner?"
"Why, you have other options?!"
"Sumo!"
"Accha ok... Yes!"
...
"Shravan. I'm nervous!", she blurted.
"Just gulp it down!"
One Two Three! Down!
She drank the Taquila shot. And a few more to come.
She was already swaying so hard, he was repenting His challenge to make her drink.
Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tammnah Hain
Aaj Phir Marne Ka Iradaa Hain!
She sang aloud, at 1 am.
He stealthily brought her to his room. "Shh! Now sleep"
He tucked her in bed. "Jhalli!", he laughed.
Morning
"Whhaaattt!!!", she was so ashamed. She had spent the entire night out.
"Sumo! Stop over reacting!", he tried to control her drama.
"Aisi halat mein Tiwari Killa le jaata toh?"
"Shravan... I'm... I won't..."
"You can count on me Sumo!"
...
"Shravan! I don't know how our life will be. But I still feel like that seven year old kid stepping into a new house. All I'm doing, is to Count on you!"
And she stepped in as Mrs. Suman Shravan Malhotra.
...
If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
I'll be the light to guide you
We find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like 1, 2, 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it
I can count on you like 4, 3, 2
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah
Oooh, ooohhh yeah, yeah
If you're tossin' and you're turnin'
And you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Every day I will remind you
Oooh
We find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like 1, 2, 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it
I can count on you like 4, 3, 2
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah
Oooh, ooohhh yeah, yeah
You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go, never say goodbye
You know...
You can count on me like 1, 2, 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it
I can count on you like 4, 3, 2
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah...
This was totally blah, I know! But still, it'll be fun!
Love,
Mahi!
