Q AND A

Okay so the answers to your questions are here and CAUTION: You might fall for this guy all over again. Read at your own risk!

Q1)Cagirl- What is the typical turnaround time of getting the script for a scene and actually shooting it? Do you have time to prepare for a scene in advance or do you often have to wing it?

1.Cagirl- Hey! It honestly depends from scene to scene, but we usually walk in and have the stack for the day ready for us. It can also be that we get the scene like 20 minutes before we start shooting the scene. So anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours. If we get a scene and don't manage to shoot it that day for whatever reason, we get time to prepare but usually you just have to go for it. It can be pretty stressful when there're a lot of lines, because obviously the more time you have, the better prepared you can be. The only time this didn't work was when I was given the. First 5 episodes like 2 weeks in advance. The combination of nerves, overthinking, stress and plain inexperience kinda messed me up there. Now I don't get too wound up about lines, and that's a huge help. Not saying that I don't get nervous before every scene, because I do, but I've calmed down a lot :)

Q2Kavmuks- Considering the lack of unique shows on TV where do you think you will fit on TV shows. There may not be EKDV again.. so anchoring / reality / or romcom?

2.Kavmuks- hi! I don't really know how to answer this, because I don't really watch any Indian shows. I don't want to pigeonhole myself, because as much as I love substantial entertainment, I've also grown up loving Bollywood. And liking, or loving in my case, the slightly ridiculous is just a part of who I am. I loved Chak De India and I laughed my ass off in Chennai Express (please don't judge me!). And I see room for both. So I can't sit here and judge what's 'good' or not. Any decision I make won't just be based on 'being different'. If the story, the character, the treatment, all are appealing, I'm down to do it. Basically I want to show up to work and love what I'm doing. And that'll pretty much be my criteria. Reality Television like Big Boss is definitely not for me. I wouldn't mind hosting some travel shows though.

Q3 Chaitra(IF Name-Chaits_04)-When you were giving auditions for EDKV who were the other already celebrity actor who had auditioned for this show. How did you feel when you got a call on selection and winning against them?

3.Chaitra- Hey Chaitra! So they don't usually tell you who they're auditioning, but I met some people and I've heard about others since. But it was never about 'winning' because acting is so subjective. I never understand when people try to compare actors, because what's the basis? What I might find extremely touching, you might find cheesy or cloying. What I find sad, you might find over the top or just plain boring. So it's not really a 'competition'. There might be amazing actors out there who never got a chance to audition for a role they were perfect for. And when luck plays such a big role, you understand that there's only so much you can control. But it felt great getting the call, not to mention slightly surreal. I only told my parents and didn't tell anyone else till the first promo came out. I'm weird like that.

Q4 Puja(IF NAME-Puba)-Do you think Indian dramas should become seasonal instead of airing eveyday for a span of a few months to years? Whether yes, no or maybe...please explain!

4.Puja- hey puja! I think seasonal shows are a big risk because they need to build a large following within one season to justify any follow ups. The advantages are, of course, vast quality control and a not so hectic shooting schedule. But does the Indian audience really have that kind of patience and attention span? I don't think it does, otherwise this would've been a viable option for a lot of shows. 24 is coming out with its second season, but they have the added advantage of having a Bollywood actor in the lead, which in itself ensures a certain built in audience. And at this point, sadly, I think that's the only way to make seasonal shows in India.

Q5Sabk-Self-respect is important but do you think it's more important than love?

5.Sabk- Hey Sabk! So ideally the two shouldn't be mutually exclusive at any juncture. If you're asking me should One degrade themselves for a loved one, then no. You should not. Not only because it's absurd and wrong, but because you will regret it later and hold it against the other person. I think the real question here is what is the definition of self respect and is it constant? And I don't think it is. It depends on your circumstances, your intra personal relations, your upbringing, the people you're surrounded with. It can also depend on your social and financial status and age. What might offend me from a stranger might be absolutely acceptable coming from a best friend. That doesn't mean that there are no boundaries between me and my friends, they're just different. But that's just me. I'm sure you have your own, personal, definition of self respect. Personally, I would not think taking help from my best friend would hurt my self respect at all. That's kind of like the point of having a Best Friend. Just my opinion :)

Q6 Dreamer-89-Have you read the works of Shakespeare if yes who amongst the characters rank as your favourite in the male and female category?

6.Dreamer- What's happening?!? I have read his works, in school and after, but I would never pretend to be an expert or even an aficionado. I guess Macbeth and Othello would be the top male protagonists. Portia and Lady Macbeth in the females. And I always felt that Shylock wasn't quite the villain he was made out to be. Going to keep this short because I haven't read any of his stuff recently and I'm not going to pretend like I have.

Q7Roshni(IF NAME-Roshni2015)-Do you have any collection? Like book, watch, keyrings it can be anythng, if yes then what is that?

7.Roshini- Hello! I think the only things I collect are books. I have about 150 books in my room at this point and I had to sell 2 cartons full last year because I was running out of space. I pick up whatever sounds interesting so not really fixed into any genre.

Q8 Payal(IF NAME-Grenade)-We often face sad/depressing phases in life. I'd love to know what helps you get through those?

8.Payal- Hi Payal! Hope you're not going through anything personally? On a daily basis, it's been physical activity that's been like my therapy. So whenever I'm stressed or not feeling good, I play basketball or workout. I think all physical activities have a certain rhythm, and that helps me zone out and just focus on the task at hand. And more often than not, when I'm done, I feel much better. Of course, the natural endorphins released from physical exertion might have a lot to do with that. But if that fails, and I'm really down in the dumps about a breakup or work related stuff, then it's always been home. Family, Hobbes, my house, that's got to be my refuge :)

Q9 Anamika(IF NAME-Ana_mika)-If you could play any other character in the show, who would it be?

9.Anamika- Hi Anamika, you mean on EDKV? I wouldn't give up playing Shravan for anyyything! I love playing him, and being my first real character, I'm very fond of him. This is not even something I have to think about, Shravan and only Shravan.

Q10 Vaishnavi(IF NAME- Crazy_Vaish)-When you watch our show EDKV, do yo watch it from an actors perspective or from an audience POV ?

10.Vaishanvi- Hey Vaishanvi, so sweet of you to call it 'our show' :). I think I definitely watch it from an actors point of view when I'm on screen because that's pretty much how you learn on the job. And that's got to be one of the best things about tv, that you shoot and a day or two later you can see how you did. So as far a tool for improvement, it really doesn't get better than that. There's still so much I have to learn, and this definitely helps. Similarly, with all the social media, I get all the feedback within a day or two so I don't really have to wonder what the audience might think.

Q11Nammy(IF NAME-nammy_25)-If ever there is a fire at your home and you could save only three things. What would be the three things which you would want to save?

11.Nammy- Hi Nammy! This question Hahahah. Family, Hobbes and my phone I guess. Not a very pleasant mental exercise, which is why I usually ignore this question.

Q12 Rushali( IF NAME- -Rushali-)-Its a tough competition in the industry but you have survived and shining like a star. So what are the Xfactors, you think sets you apart from the crowd and helped you survive? And please answer this with 0% modesty.

12. Rushali- hahaha the 0 modesty made me laugh. I don't know what sets me apart. Honestly. The most obvious thing is my height I guess. But besides that I've been given a great character to play and that's been a huge plus. And if I have to take any credit, I'll say that I've worked very very hard to improve as much as I can. And I'm not even close to done. But thank you for the indirect compliment Rushali :)

Q13 Sneha(IF NAME-Sneha.ko)-One thrilling adventure on your wishlist?

13.Sneha- Hey Sneha! Bungee jumping, Sky diving, deep sea diving, spillunking, it all sounds pretty cool to me :)

Q14Mahishee( IF NAME-Artist_Forever)-Your Best Childhood Memory?

14.Mahishee- Hey! I have so many so I'll give you one. My dad used to play wrestle with me and my sister when we were really little. So this one time he pinned me down and I guess he left me there for too long because it really hurt my ego. So as soon as I got up, I ripped his kurta in two. Which he found hilarious because I was in a serious rage even after that. He called mom and had her take a picture of it and we still have it at home.

Q15Flibbertigibet-The process of getting into character is probably mentally taxing at first. But now that you've played it for some time, do you find yourself thinking how he thinks about stuff in your personal life or generally? How easy or difficult is it to not let the character overtake your thinking process?

15.Flibbertigibbet- Whats up? Not really. I try to understand where he's coming from, because that's pretty much my job. And I can discuss what his motivations and thought processes are for hours, but no it doesn't permeate into my real life. And It'd be pretty odd if I suddenly started hated all women because of Shravan so pretty thankful for that hahah
