Five Days Later
Suman had continued to keep the required distance between them. Cause she knew she couldn't control herself once she drew close to him. He had recovered step by step and now the remaining recovery was to happen at home. The Hospital Phase of the treatment was to get over in a few minutes as Sumo found herself doing his last checkup before he was discharged. This was the last time she would see him. And she swore to herself that she'll forget the past week as a dream. But would it be that easy?
The nurse brought breakfast for them. Sandwiches and Juice.
Shravan picked up one Sandwich when Sumo asked
"What's in the menu?"
"Peanut Butter Sandwich and Orange Juice", the nurse spoke
"Peanut Butter?! Shravan wait!", And she snatched the sandwich from nearly his mouth, before he popped in the first bite.
"You have Peanut Allergy, don't you remember?", She scolded him.
"Yes I HAD it in childhood but it faded as time passed"
Sumo sheepishly looked down and gave him back the Sandwich.
But little did she know she had set off His Oxford Brain in thinking mode as he pondered on the thought - How Did She Know?
Sumo left after signing the discharge papers, to her Cabin while Shravan left with Ramnath in his car.
A tear fell down her eyes as she saw them leaving, from the balcony of her Cabin.
"Goodbye Shravan. I'll cherish you my for my life", and she wiped off that tear.
In the Evening, when she was returning Home, she found a Sedan parked in front of her Gate.
"Uggghhh! How careless people are!", And she stormed out to shake the hell out of the irresponsible Driver.
"Oooyye!", She tapped on the bonnet of the car to get the person out.
"Aankhon par Patti...", but her voice trailed off as she saw an unusually tall person get out. Without even seeing the face, she could swear it was Him.
"Shravan?!", She was pleasantly surprised.
"Dr. Suman, I think I forgot to Thank You for the treatment you gave me"
"Ohh, never mind. My pleasure", she turned around to return to her car when he caught her hand.
"Sumo...",he whispered
She froze, rooted to the spot. He remembered her?
"You said everything you wanted to say that day. Now you've to listen to me."
"I was a fool back then, couldn't think for my own good. But the fact is, I've never been at peace since you left , just like that. I felt alone and miserable. Maybe that's why I just broke when I got to the truth about Mom. But now I've found the girl to share my life with."
"Who?"
"You!! Sumo will you marry me?", He went down on his knees and presented a Diamond Ring to her, engraved with letters S & S
"Yes!", Exclaimed a teary eyed Suman, you couldn't have imagined this.
"I am ready to get hospitalised a million more times if this was the way I was going to meet you ", he smiled.
"And I couldn't be more satisfied with that showdown I faced, if it ended in Us."
"And what made you think I'll not recognise you?", He winked.
"Umm...Stop over reacting now!", Chuckled Suman as they walked hand in hand upto the Tiwari Killa to break the good news to everyone.
