How would Shravan answer this question?
I would like to ask one question here...

Does Shravan believe in love any more?

Does he have a single love story to back up love after having fought so many divorce cases...Isn't he way too practical when it comes to love?

Isn't love an adjustment...like he would with the girl his family chooses?

Sometimes it feels like he has shut his heart too tight, it will take efforts to have him open up and confess. His bottled up feelings have been converted into aggression that he uses while fighting his cases. Yes, he has become very practical when it comes to love, merely because the first time he loved, his heart got crushed. Cannot even imagine the pain Shravan must have undergone as an alone teenager with no other friends than Sumo in an unknown place like London where he had to prove himself. I dont think he would consent wholly to simply an arranged marriage, he even cross questioned that girl that his Chachi was trying to hitch him up with. He wants someone to agree with all the things he aspires to do in life rather than make him change anything about himself.

Or I wondered if his experiences with other women have led him to believe that love is just an illusion...

I have a feeling there were never other women. He was too focused on fulfilling his father's dream of becoming a lawyer that he never let himself experience any romance. The kind of person Shravan was when he left and the one he is now might seem to be drastically different, but the soul is the same. He had just one friend in the form of Suman and when even she left his side, he might have alienated himself from all emotions whatsoever. Happens to victims of child trauma (not that I'm implying he has any mental complications, its a pretty normal thing).

Other women..as in the women his friends dated..the divorce cases he took up...he had a general disdain for women...that was not just for Sumo...we saw that in the divorce case he settled...and with Urvashi..

All the women in his life has somewhere disappointed him.
His mother, the women he loved brutally, left him.
the person whose unconditional love is the child's largest nutrition was sucked out of his life and the remains were dried up by Ramnath.
The other woman, who meant his whole life to him, besides his books, left him in the most brutal way when he needed her the most.
It's a marvel that he survived both the battles. But the scars remain. It will take a lot of effort by Sumo to fade out his scars. But at present, those scars are still healing.
He doesn't seem to have stopped loving, but has COMPLETELY accepted his belief that he will never receive love.

The other women he has encountered are vain. Either bimbos or witches. Not at all worthy of his attention.
But the two women he looked up to, failed him miserably.
Now that he has finally managed to has seen the face below Sumo's mask, he got assured that he has got one person to hold onto. The only person he can open up to, the one who knows all about him except one secret.
So now, he's being careful, very careful, to not lose one thing that means his only support which he got after suffering so much.
She means the world to him. It's out there for us to see.
He is just not being obvious about it anymore. But yes, he still loves her.
But he has stopped expecting romantic partnership from her.

I don't entirely buy this wronged guy theory actually...because Shravan was always an MCP..and these two incidents in his life furthered his superiority theory of men...Women were undependable..

That has reflected in all his interactions with women...even to Sumo, until he started respecting her...

Let us see...The guy seems too sure of himself, than careful, actually.😳

His mother leaving him as a teenager has led him to assume that women use men for their benefit and leave. Apart from Suman, he has always maintained a distance from all of them. The divorce cases he fights makes him reinstate his belief. Even when he was shown in one divorce case where the husband did not wanna leave her but Shravan promised that lady a divorce because she was only interested in the alimony money and not relationships. He has set up this unhealthy belief about womenkind so he thinks love would probably make him weak, his vulnerable heart 10 years ago makes him seem weak in front of others which he does not wanna seem.

Even the fact that Sumo used to ruthlessly coerce him into doing as she likes and when he needed her to be there as a friend, she failed to understand him and demeaned him in front of the others. Those scars are yet to heal. The bullying has hardened him so much that he thinks showing feelings like love would be a sign of giving in to society and being a loser which is a phase he does not want to encounter again in his life.

Very well put.

I agree with the first half fully...as for the bullying part- I never agreed it was only one sided..he used to blackmail her to get his things done too...like get her to cook his fav dish etc..it was never one sided...and apparently she used to be his agony aunt when it came to the fight between his parents...just that at one point, she finally exploded.

Thank You for appreciating my perspective. Basically he sees showing love or any form of feelings is a weakness. So he has turned into a emotionally numb person who cares but cannot show he does. Those beliefs are what probably made him choose to become a divorce lawyer in the first place. They say in my college that the most emotionally strong people become divorce lawyers and criminal lawyers because in both cases you have to deal with the most hardhearted and ruthless people.
As for the Suman part, that is kinda true. It was a give-and-take friendship. But Suman used to openly taunt him in school whereas what he did was mostly in private. So in his mind, the agony he suffered from Sumo and others treating him like a geek in school is what has driven him to become what he is today. He is not validating his own flaws as a teenager in his mind, he believes he can strive for perfection and escape the shadows of the past.
